Heroes: Ray of Hope
The war had ended in the night as quickly as it had begun. The city raged below, the people pulling together in their time of crisis, working to put back their broken city. Their homes. Their lives.
Two watchful figures stood on an overlooking hillside outside the city, their eyes shining in the glow of the fires below. A man and a boy. Silent. Their long capes swayed with the wind, though they were unmoved.
"It's strange to see them working together like that. Usually they're clawing each others throats," the boy said, breaking the lull.
He saw the man move, but only slightly. The darkness gave their emotions cover. "There will come a day when the world no longer needs heroes like you and me. Humanity will find that it's able to stand on its own, without out help," the man said to the younger as they watched over the work they had set in motion continuing in the city below.
"Maybe," the boy said quietly. He wanted to believe his mentor, but he had seen too much evil to thin

Wash. Rinse. Repeating these old audiotapes.
You build corners out of souvenirs
To stand in after the rain. You
Would like to stay dry, but the roof is
I enjoy B-movies with enemies
While two-faced friends poison my bubbly.
Superstitions are instinct, and you wear
Crosses to keep the vampires away, only
Praying in secret when you fear Hell's
A Simple Guide: Getting More Hits on Written WorkA Simple Guide to Submitting Written Works Effectively and ProfessionallyA Simple Guide: Getting More Hits on Written Work2 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
This guide is designed to help writers beautify their written work. Its sole purpose is to make these works more reader friendly in order to receive more hits. It is made up of suggestions that can be taken or left at each writer's own discretion.
ALWAYS EDIT BEFORE SUBMITTING. Evaluate sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and spelling to avoid errors. Seems like a no-brainer, right? Oddly enough, this is one of the most overlooked aspects of writing for a lot of us. For many of us, editing is the most dreaded
Calling all the Fallen Angels!Okay. So I just got the best idea ever.Calling all the Fallen Angels!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
To appreciate Black Veil Brides for all they have done, from making amazing music to making inspirational quotes and all that fun jazz, I figured something we all could do.
Here my plan: Make a video or collage (mix up of pictures) of all us Fallen Angels/Bridesmaids and Ushers and send it to them. (Andy's and Jake's dads too, that way theres a better chance of them seeing it.)
Collage would be a lot easier, but then again theres not as much space, but a video might take a bit longer. It depends on how long it'll take to get enough people to make a whole video with the duration of the song.
Take a picture of yourself looking as much as yourself as possible, not just BVB attire but stuff you actually like to wear. Band shirts, tank tops, long sleeves, skirts, jeans, 10,000 bracelets and necklaces, anything. If you want to (advised) hold a sign (or caption over the picture) "We are the fallen angels" or the BVB symbol/star. Remember, LOOK LIKE YOUR
SometimesSometimes we feel like there is no hopeSometimes3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
We sit around and mope and mope
Sometimes we feel down and beat
Sometimes we wonder how we will make ends meet
Sometimes we cry and sob and curse
Sometime we feel things can't get any worse
Sometimes we wonder how we'll get through the day
Our tempers as hot as the month of May
But here is one thing I say to you
Whenever you are down or feeling blue
There is one thing you can do
Sit right down and think things through
Life it too short to be all in a dither
For our lives are short like a flower that withers
So close your eyes and listen well
Things will get better and in time will tell
Every day is a gift please remember that
Every day that ends is one we will never get back!
So read this message that I wrote
When sometimes you feel like there is no hope
Cheer up and don't worry about what people might say
Live, love, relax and go enjoy your day!
Don't Die On MePeople tell us that we are weakDon't Die On Me2 years ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
They don't know what we've been through
So if they can finally see
What we've been through
They would surely change their minds
The words "don't die on me"
Bring back horrid memories
I don't want to wish
I don't want to scream
But I wish you were part of me
So tell me how you feel
Cause I want to know the truth
So don't die on me
She was on her back
Whimpering in pain
Nothing could ever prepare us for this
But we knew that she was losing to death
Will you ever be able to tell her friends
How she died
"Don't die on me" the healers uttered
"Don't die on me"
You whispered to your lover
As she took her last breath
I found it hard to watch
But it's never easy
To see someone who you love die
When will I ever get to see
Why I'm in this fight
With a man with monstrous strength
This will never end until one of us has dies
And I can hear someone say
"Don't die on me"
I blink as my world explodes in pain
I look at the sword sticking out of my chest
I wonder how it
RIP LaraDear Army Members,RIP Lara2 years ago in Emotional More Like This
On the 27th of this month, we lost a member of our army, Lara Burns. Apparently she was a massive fan of Black Veil Brides, and a victim of bullying. I do not know Lara, nor have I ever met her, but I sobbed when I found out. Losing one of our members is like losing family (or at least that's how it is for me because I highly respect all in the Army whether I know them or not) so please, just remember that if you're going through a rough time, we're all here for you. Even if you aren't a fan of BVB, just talk to someone you trust.
Speaking from personal experiences, I am glad that I was saved. Yeah, I'm still bullied. People are hateful. As Ashley Purdy said:
"People may hate you for being different and not living by society's standards, but deep down they wish they had the courage to do the same."
It's so true. It sounds stupid, but when you express yourself, you're opening yourself up to the world and showing what you like and how you feel. When people follow style
FallenThe heavy weight of the wooden planks made his arms tremble.Fallen3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
He wasn't sure how long he had been in this position; on his knees, hands pressed firmly to the cold, rough concrete floor. It felt like mere seconds, but he was sure the shock, the adrenaline, had only just begun to wear off.
He was breathing heavily. He was afraid to look, because there was a damn good reason he was holding up the heavy weight.
Michelangelo opened his eyes.
Donatello laid beneath him. Still out cold, and Mikey still wasn't sure what had happened. His brother had just suddenly fallen down, frozen, reminding him a little of a robot whose batteries just went out. Which was freaky, because it was way too easy to think Donnie as a robot.
Donatello wasn't moving. Not even a little.
"Donnie?" he asked, voice hoarse. "Donnie, dude, you awake? Alright?"
Donatello continued to simply breath.
There wasn't even a twitch, not even the rolling of eyes or a twitch of his fingers.
It made Mikey scared.
