Heroes: Ray of Hope
The war had ended in the night as quickly as it had begun. The city raged below, the people pulling together in their time of crisis, working to put back their broken city. Their homes. Their lives.
Two watchful figures stood on an overlooking hillside outside the city, their eyes shining in the glow of the fires below. A man and a boy. Silent. Their long capes swayed with the wind, though they were unmoved.
"It's strange to see them working together like that. Usually they're clawing each others throats," the boy said, breaking the lull.
He saw the man move, but only slightly. The darkness gave their emotions cover. "There will come a day when the world no longer needs heroes like you and me. Humanity will find that it's able to stand on its own, without out help," the man said to the younger as they watched over the work they had set in motion continuing in the city below.
"Maybe," the boy said quietly. He wanted to believe his mentor, but he had seen too much evil to thin

This guide is designed to help writers beautify their written work. Its sole purpose is to make these works more reader friendly in order to receive more hits. It is made up of suggestions that can be taken or left at each writer's own discretion.
ALWAYS EDIT BEFORE SUBMITTING. Evaluate sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and spelling to avoid errors. Seems like a no-brainer, right? Oddly enough, this is one of the most overlooked aspects of writing for a lot of us. For many of us, editing is the most dreaded

You build corners out of souvenirs
To stand in after the rain. You
Would like to stay dry, but the roof is
I enjoy B-movies with enemies
While two-faced friends poison my bubbly.
Superstitions are instinct, and you wear
Crosses to keep the vampires away, only
Praying in secret when you fear Hell's
Calling all the Fallen Angels!Okay. So I just got the best idea ever.Calling all the Fallen Angels!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
To appreciate Black Veil Brides for all they have done, from making amazing music to making inspirational quotes and all that fun jazz, I figured something we all could do.
Here my plan: Make a video or collage (mix up of pictures) of all us Fallen Angels/Bridesmaids and Ushers and send it to them. (Andy's and Jake's dads too, that way theres a better chance of them seeing it.)
Collage would be a lot easier, but then again theres not as much space, but a video might take a bit longer. It depends on how long it'll take to get enough people to make a whole video with the duration of the song.
Take a picture of yourself looking as much as yourself as possible, not just BVB attire but stuff you actually like to wear. Band shirts, tank tops, long sleeves, skirts, jeans, 10,000 bracelets and necklaces, anything. If you want to (advised) hold a sign (or caption over the picture) "We are the fallen angels" or the BVB symbol/star. Remember, LOOK LIKE YOUR

but this story isn't a fairy tale
and it wont have a happy ending,
because the real ones, well
they never really do.
In high school
I picked up my pen
and I began to write
It existed and it was pure
and it was lovely.
But my rapist rewrote me.
breathing on my neck
and tracing my back with his fingers.
He rewrote me as broken.
He wrote me as a statistic,
as another white girl who got told
that she cried rape for attention.
But that didn't matter because see,
I wanted to tell a story.
A story about family,
about picking each other up
about blood being thicker than water
about how not everyone's home
had to be broken.
But my father rewrote me.
When i picked up my pen
he spoke words to me
that I swear bruised my whole body
and I learned that nothing
was thicker than his alcohol
and my home was already shattered.
But I wanted to tell a story.
so I picked up my pen
to write about god.
A God that could save anybody
And God loved everybody,
which was the onl
Don't Die On MePeople tell us that we are weakDon't Die On Me3 years ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
They don't know what we've been through
So if they can finally see
What we've been through
They would surely change their minds
The words "don't die on me"
Bring back horrid memories
I don't want to wish
I don't want to scream
But I wish you were part of me
So tell me how you feel
Cause I want to know the truth
So don't die on me
She was on her back
Whimpering in pain
Nothing could ever prepare us for this
But we knew that she was losing to death
Will you ever be able to tell her friends
How she died
"Don't die on me" the healers uttered
"Don't die on me"
You whispered to your lover
As she took her last breath
I found it hard to watch
But it's never easy
To see someone who you love die
When will I ever get to see
Why I'm in this fight
With a man with monstrous strength
This will never end until one of us has dies
And I can hear someone say
"Don't die on me"
I blink as my world explodes in pain
I look at the sword sticking out of my chest
I wonder how it

eyes of blue
hair so black
running down your back
skin so pale
black paint upon your nails
ripped and ragged shirt
tattoos that must of hurt
piercing through your lip
studded belts around your hips
leather pants so tight
to hold you up on stage tonight
three ribs you broke
but still sung that note
with that dreamy voice
you made that angelic noise
your voice so deep
fans scramble and leap
to see that man of six foot two and hold eyes of blue
SometimesSometimes we feel like there is no hopeSometimes3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
We sit around and mope and mope
Sometimes we feel down and beat
Sometimes we wonder how we will make ends meet
Sometimes we cry and sob and curse
Sometime we feel things can't get any worse
Sometimes we wonder how we'll get through the day
Our tempers as hot as the month of May
But here is one thing I say to you
Whenever you are down or feeling blue
There is one thing you can do
Sit right down and think things through
Life it too short to be all in a dither
For our lives are short like a flower that withers
So close your eyes and listen well
Things will get better and in time will tell
Every day is a gift please remember that
Every day that ends is one we will never get back!
So read this message that I wrote
When sometimes you feel like there is no hope
Cheer up and don't worry about what people might say
Live, love, relax and go enjoy your day!
I Am WishingI am wishing I wasn't alone,I Am Wishing3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
That my brain would shut off,
That people would listen
When I whisper the undeniable truth.
But if no one listens
Then who the hell cares?
I am wishing that you were here
To smother my nightmares
And make me feel like I am safe.
If they can't see what I see
When I close my eyes
Then is it really there?
I am wishing that you still loved me,
That you would feel more for me
Than you do for her,
But I will never be good enough.
If you hold me and say everything is fine
Will it be a lie?
And I just wish you would say something
Because the silence screams
More truth than I can take.
And I just miss the sound of your voice like crazy.
But if I can't feel my own heart beating in my chest
Does that mean I am no longer living?
I don't know

Such a strange person.
So fearsome and yet so relieving.
Lately death has become a friend of mine,
He and his pals have been close company with me.
Silence is the only person I really like talking to,
The ring of her voice is so soothing.
Isolation is the only company I need,
He holds my hand and guides me around.
Depression is a great friend to me,
She is always there giving me a hug whenever I need it.
These friends are the best ones I know,
I have other ones but they aren't as great.
Happiness for example is always leaving.
She is great when she is around but she doesn't like to stick around.
Outgoing is such a social guy,
But he doesn't seem to have time for me,
Always out partying with someone else.
Sound is just plain annoying.
She never knows when to be quiet,
Always blabbing away or making noise to drown out Silence.
Now these are all just friends of mine,
My best friend who I mentioned earlier is Death,
Who gets along with everyone.
Because he is always around whenever

She's not going to be there for you for long if you're never there for her
Why don't you call her every once in a while, see if she's okay
She'll appreciate it more than you think
Show her that you truly love her, tell her she's your everything
Just prove to her that she means something to you
'Cause right now she may feel unappreciated
Right now she may feel useless
So prove to her that she's special
Prove to her that she's the only one for you
'Cause you could be slowly losing her
While you spend your time doing nothing
Meet up with her every once in a while
Before she walks away
'Cause once she walks away
She's never coming back.

Between Heaven and HellEveryone has a story to tellBetween Heaven and Hell3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The time and place the falls from grace.
We all walk at our own pace
forever attempting to win the illusionary race.
So I took the time, to sit and rewind....
granted pause to the cause, reflections of the mind.
Years upon years slowly drifted on by...
Journeys left behind slumbering alongside the road of unknown,
collecting dirt and debris, anxiously awaiting to be set free,
but could not flee...no one to save me and turn the key.
Everything has a time and a place within the enchanted space.
A story to tell of heaven and hell...
Realise this upon states of bliss,
In the beginning we all fell--in the end we all shall fall.
Can no longer ignore the ancient call.

So this is how the story ends?
Biggest lie you've ever told.
That line is getting old.
"It's not you, it's me."
What happened to we're meant to be?
I guess you've just changed.
When did your life get rearranged?
"We met each other at the wrong time."
Love doesn't need reason or rhyme.
I thought you believed in fate?
You shouldn't have asked me to date.
"We're in two different places right now."
You don't try to explain how.
Have I always held you back?
This relationship has a major crack.
"I'll always love you."
Not true or I'd have you.
So this is the good-bye.
At least now I know why.

Why does it flicker?
If water is so delicate,
Why is it feared?
If air is so important,
Why is it polluted?

Why is it covered?
If everyone is equal,
Why is there war?
If we have two eyes,
Why can't we see?

You're not the same.
That's not you.
So where are you?
I'm not going to dig
to find you.
Why did you kidnap yourself?
Lock your true self away?
You did something new.
Did they force you to change
Or did you allow yourself
to fall to influence?
Just come knocking on my door
when you've lost those chains.
Just come to freedom
even if it storms and rains.
Some of the people you abandoned will welcome you
with open arms.
Just come back

I just want to hear you say
That you'll never forget
When our paths went the same way
But I guess nothing is set

Despite the noise made by the heavy downpour, Don heard one of the Kraang say, “Kraang’s instructions are that Kraang must not destroy the turtle named Donatello who is the turtle that Kraang must not destroy.”
“Kraang may destroy the other turtle that is not the turtle that Kraang must not destroy,” said another of the Kraang bots.
“It looks like watching my shell is going to involve you losing yours,” Don said to his brother.
“Hey, at least now we have proof they really are after you,” Raph told him.
“Thanks,” Don said sarcastically, “that makes me feel so much better.”
“Off the walls?” Raph asked.
“Count of three,” Don replied. “One, two, three!”
As soon as the last word left Don’s mouth, the brothers separated, running directly towards the bricks walls of the buildings in front of them. Upon reaching the wall, Don used h
