Just a quick picture of my sword and shield of my FFXIII-2 Lightning cosplay.

I started working on the sword a week ago and finished it today. Just in time for Animecon tomorrow xD
I had finished the shield a little earlier before the start on the sword. I'm missing the etro script on it, but I can't find clear pictures of it... Or I'm just searching wrong. I'll probably fix that after the con since I don't have time for it anymore xD

I'm just happy I got it all finished before this weekend so now, I got a full costume to show around and have shoots with ^__^

It was a tiring but very fun event! Although my friend and I had entered the event area a little past 3 in the afternoon (and the place was jam-packed with cosplayers); I didn't spend much time on photoshoots (since it had started raining midway through the first shoot and the water I had drunk made me have a stomachache).

I met most of my friends and was introduced to new people as well. Bottom line is; Although I didn't spend much time on photoshoots at the event (like I had hoped prior to arriving), hanging out, catching up, and making amends with old and new friends was definitely way better than having a photoshoot at an almost overcrowded event.

Good thing I have a separate shoot scheduled for this, so yay!

Here you can see an unfinished chest/back armor of Lightning (Favo Chara XD) This is my first cosplay that I made XDD
I know, it´s totally epic fail, because it´s too large and it doesn´t look like her armor. Maybe I try it again to make the bust armor XDD MAYBEEE XDD Hehe I´m so lazy XDDD But I wanted to have her cosplay XDD and I can´t buy it XDD

the only (cheap) chance to get it: self made XD
material: plastic, craft foam, covered with (thick) stainless steel foil


Edit: sry, I can´t make a tutorial because I haven´t taken photos of the process XDD
I wanted to show you the second version (how it looks like now) but the links that I pasted in my journal don´t work...
Anyways, the chest armor is damaged now (it was too large) and I can´t get the material anymore, so I have to visit conventions with a dented chest armor XDD Epic fail XDD

I finally finished it! It's as tall as hers, but it's... huge ;_;
The blades are made of wood, the body is made of plywood and polystyrene, the joints are wonderflex. And my hands are full of bubbles because of the hot glue...
The blades can fold, they need a screwdriver, but it's wonderful anyway *_* The only thing I hate is that it slightly folds... I really didn't want it to fold when hold, but I cannot make miracles... it's a REALLY hard prop to make. I made a bigger joint in the middle to try to fix this problem, in fact there's a different joint in two pics. I've spent 15 euros/20 dollars, and it was all for the satin tapes. My dad gave me the sheet of plywood (I'm an unusual daughter...), while my boyfriend gifted me wonderflex and polystyrene (I'm an unusual girlfriend too). I love those guys!
