He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
'Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?'
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.

OK, not really. They're turning part of the old facility into a cyberspace security and learning centre, to inspire the next generation of codebreakers.
Station X, AKA Bletchley Park, was the secret installation which housed the codebreaking unit who cracked Enigma in WW2, and was where the world's first programmable computer was built.
The site fell into disrepair after the war. With the Soviets a very real threat after 1945, Churchill ensured that Station X and its activities were kept under wraps, just in case a new war began in which they would be needed.
It wasn't until the 1970s that the public learned of Bletchley Park's wartime activities.
They're finally turning the place into a museum.
My deviantART StoryMy deviantART Story8 months ago in Art Features More Like This
I fell in love with deviantART from the moment I was drawn to it. It's light, life, mystery and magic.
I spent days, weeks, months, years wandering and being mystified, amazed and entirely in love with all that surrounded me.
It was the community of people that kept me excited, kept me inspired, kept me aspiring to be someone better than I was. Even in the darkest times, the community has helped keep the lanterns lit.
I've been taken to amazing places, worlds, lives because of the family I've grown with on deviantART and every thing that's been shared with me and everything I've been able to share with you. It's been a journey.
And here, today, I'm still as captivated as I was when we first met.

Arrietty is an evil movie, apparently...A few months back Fox News went after The Muppets for "promoting the liberal agenda" (whatever the **** that means this week). Miss Piggy got back at them with a scathing remark during an interview shortly after the controversy and we all had a laugh at Fox's expense. Well... This time they're going after Studio Ghibli's "The Secret World of Arrietty" and accusing, once again, that liberal Hollywood's agenda is corrupting children and turning them into "occu-toddlers." They also turned their sights on the new adaptation of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. They claim that both movies "demonize the 1%" and that people "offended" by these movies should fight back by... littering. Don't believe me? Watch the video and get ready to facepalm: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuFcWkFJZgk
Now I can understand (barely) how a conservative could possibly have an issue with The Lorax since it deals with criticizing the logging industry and promoting the dangers of excessive defore
I am ashamedAs a gun owner and enthusiast, videos like this make me ashamed. Guns are not toys. They are not to be paraded about on the streets or in coffee shops for some cheap political motive. They are not for frightening pedestrians or initiating conflict with police, who do not make the laws but enforce them. This is not an exercise of right but an abuse of privilege.I am ashamed1 year ago in Personal More Like This
People hunting out in the field, plinking at the range, educating others about firearms and their proper use, quietly (and legally) carrying a pistol under their shirt for personal protection, keeping a gun locked up by their bedside to protect their home and their family--these people are exercising their rights. People who stand unarmed in public forums or voting booths to express their opinions are exercising their rights.
Those who would seek to disturb the peace by brandishing weapons in peaceful places to fend off the imaginary tyrants in their heads are fools. Those who hide behind thei
Emote Kart project! What the heck?Emote Kart project!3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I've kinda had this planned for a while - except it was going to be far bigger with roads and different car parts and all the stuff. But I settled for something a little simpler...
The idea is to put your Emote OC in a kart! Specifically, something from the critically-acclaimed Mario Kart series (if you haven't heard of it, your rock must be fairly weathered by now).
You may create your own Emoticon or use an emote pack. You also must draw the kart yourself, as deviantART's policies coupled with those of Nintendo themselves do not allow usage of official content.
There must be an OC in the kart. If you don't have an OC, you can always use someone else's - with their permission!
One entry per OC; i.e. if you have two OC's, you can submit two karts! I don't recommend inventing a new OC on the spot just for this, though...
And I think that's about it. Leave a comment with a link to your submission on this journ
Gun ControlMy politics and devils advocate-like views on life aren't usually featured here. But, firearms seem to have a large place "in my heart" and have been there since the Jews sailed to America, so I shall share my views on gun control.Gun Control2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'm from England, United Kingdom, which is a police state. We are not aloud to do anything considered "dangerous" that we would considered a hobby due to the strange path our government decided to take some years ago. I'm not going into specific facts but recently (a number of years ago) all handguns (any firearm with a barrel shorter than 30cm or with an overall length of less than 60cm) were banned. People had to hand in their firearms that had been with them and their family for many years and many would have been very expensive. After this a ban it would seem that laws started appearing out of know where which allowed police to arrest you for filming certain things in public areas and filming police for legal evidence. It would seem that the freedo
ANOTHER RANT THINGSeeing how apparently bronies are very... dogmatic (for the lack of a better word) with their show, seems they have made something that makes me want to facepalm again. The bronies are very fond of mixing a show about a bunch of pastel-coloured horses and something more adult. (I.E. The Dresden Files, which they actually did.) Harry Dresden aside, today, we're going to talk about the thing known as "Fallout: Equestria."ANOTHER RANT THING1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Yes. They've mixed a game about the aftermath of a nuclear war and pastel-coloured horses. Yeah. It even has its own wiki and website. Really. But to summarize the story, from I read.
The main character lives in a Stable (Vault) which her celebrity crush ran away and she goes out to chase her and 'rescue' her. The main character much later in, the main character meets a sniper who nearly blows her head off and they got on random misadventures, including that the main character gets addicted to 'Mint-als' (Mentats), and finally find her celebrity crush.

So, the only requirements is to make a firearm that will have 4 variants. Sure, you can make more variants of the gun if you want to. But only these four are required.
-Energy Gun Variant (any type is fine)
Yes, these are the variants I was talking about, but this is somewhat of what I'm referring to as the weapon variants. The base of the gun is the same, but parts of the body are changed to change the Assault Rifle to Submachine Gun.
You have complete freedom on how you design it, as long as the base of the gun is basically the same. Just think of the G36 and how that gun has many different variants.
Exp: G36c, G36k, G36E, SL8., etc.
You can either have you 4 guns on one deviation, or you have hav
Bomango ze Tango!I'm going to get ahead of this right now and say that this might not be a riveting read for folks. Bad advertising, I know, but I feel it's necessary to preface this by being realistic. I'm not uber-famous, my characters aren't known far and wide, and for Pete's sake, I don't even have a proper webcomic or series to speak of. But, I've been asked numerous questions enough that it might be useful to have a FAQ essay of sorts to clear the air a bit.Bomango ze Tango!1 year ago in Personal More Like This

"Bomango" (as it's come to be known) came about maybe around 2004 or thereabouts...shoot, maybe 2003, which makes it a decade old already...sheesh. Exposing the "Shadowland Wolf Foundation"I posted this before on AW's comment section, but I'd like to bring it to the attention of a wider audience, as it does appear that this obviously fraudulent organisation has quite a large following, and its representatives have appeared on chat shows to lecture people on the subject of wolves, which I hope this blog entry will demonstrate they have absolutely no qualifications to do so.Exposing the "Shadowland Wolf Foundation"2 years ago in Personal More Like This

That really disgusts me when I meet an artist who's being wished a happy birthday, and who don't even dare to reply to these wishes !
Seriously, it's not THAT HARD TO REPLY WITH A SIMPLE "Thank you !" , is it ?
I do not give a shit about how well-known you may be, I myself have quite alot of watchers, and I still reply to EVERY SINGLE COMMENTS I HAVE, even when I have 150 feedbacks, because I actually show RESPECT toward my fans, this is not something impossible to do !
More and more people seem to not know what respect stands for , they always expect the best, without giving anything in return.
There's also artists who simply talk only with their 1-2 friends, and ignore everyone else, regardless of what was said...

As a thank you to everyone who's supported me thus far, I'd like to present a little project to you called "Ossuary." It's a new universe I have been sort of playing around with, and I decided to make it a sort of Creative Commons project. This excerpt below should shed a little more light on it:

Years and BeersThey say wisdom comes with age. That's debatable, since there's no shortage of stupid old people wandering around the globe. It's probably one of them that came up with the idea that you should respect people just because they haven't died yet. Well...maybe you should, especially if they're older than you, which means they're demonstrably better at not dying than you are. In any case, in my time on this planet, I've learned not to touch live wires, play "chicken" with freight trains, or run naked through rush hour traffic, so the years have blessed me with SOME knowledge (better to run through rush hour traffic fully clothed; better STILL to wear a helmet and a thick layer of protective padding; possibly best not to do it at all).Years and Beers1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Anyhow, this day has given me two things in very high supply: lots and lots of birthday wishes, which are great and wonderful and evidence that I exist (which is always nice to have, some days), and also so much beer that storing it is becoming an issue. Beer

Armed Standoff at Nevada RanchUPDATES: FINAL?: BLM appears to have backed off for the time being. The cattle have been returned to Cliven Bundy, but not until after a reported 130 head died of heat exhaustion after being chased by helicopters, two more were shot by BLM agents, and one bicyclist was murdered by a BLM agent at a checkpoint around the ranch in days prior to this citizen revolt.Armed Standoff at Nevada Ranch1 year ago in Personal More Like This
This battle has been won, but the war is still being waged. The BLM is still going after cattle ranchers in other states, trying to shut them out of their land as well. Stay vigilant, friends. When you see injustice, remember that silence is acceptance.
6: BLM claims they will stand down; Bundy demands disarming of park service, dismantling of checkpoints government signs around ranch, and for BLM to prove that they will leave Bunkerville alone for good
5: AT&T messaged the Bundy's phones, stating: "AT&T supports Cliven Bundy and family in their time of struggle."
Why guns?I'm sure many of my fellow dA armorers have experienced that sideways glance you get when you show a friend your gallery full of fictional weapons...like they're wondering if they should call the police and warn them of a potential mass shooter, though they're confused because you don't seem like a violent person. Why guns?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Well, that's because we're NOT violent people, at least not most of us. If we would only draw a space marine blowing the head off of an alien, that would be cool; but, somehow, drawing the gun by itself is disturbing to many... It makes no sense to me.
Maybe it's because I have more of an eye for the technical than the organic, and guns are more fun to draw than power tools. Maybe I like the functionality of the things. Maybe it's because I spent a great deal of my childhood playing first-person shooters.
Whatever the reason, I draw guns...and I mean you no harm.
