Scars ch. 1 Yep. I am writing my new series. Thanks to my friend's help, this series started and I give her credit for stepping out of her comfort zone for me. I LOVE HER.Scars ch. 13 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
So on with the chapter.
I should have known that when I met them, they would change my life. Of course, I wasn't any other kid so I had to introduce myself to them. Everybody else walked away.
I go to a school. You could say this school isn't very normal. Why? Oh, only because we're a school full of psychotic kids who have bad backgrounds.
New kids were coming to school and I was a little surprised to find that the two new girls were totally different. My friend, Ben, and I walked up to them and said hello.
The one girl had long, curly, carmel hair. She had green eyes with specks of brown in them. She was skinny, but, surprisingly, not bone-skinny. Her tank-top was a little loose and her shorts were really short. She had a nice figure and was short compared to Ben, the other girl, and me.
The second gi
The DoctorThe doctor tutted, shaking his head and letting out an exasperated sigh. The Doctor3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"Honestly, we have next to nothing to work with these days." He murmured, grasping the girl's chin and pulling it upwards so he could look more clearly into her face. "Brown eyes, brown hair... too commonplace. What I wouldn't give for a honest-to-God natural blonde or a redhead. Everyone's getting sick of all the dyed products we've had to make. Ugh. Well, give this one some blue eyes. Keep the freckles; maybe they'll add something more natural to her."
The young man, eighteen at most, who had brought the girl into the room, nodded. He gently lifted the slender figure off the ground- the girl's head lolling against his shoulder as he did so- and to her feet, wrapping an arm around her waist to support her.
"Jude, I have too many appointments today to watch you take your time with this. Drag it if you must, but hurry."
Jude nodded again, keeping his head down so the good Doctor wouldn't see th
The Reassurance of GreenIt was Ella's idea to hire a gardener for my mother's tulips. The Reassurance of Green2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"I've been doing fine with them," I had said, a little surprised at the sudden suggestion. My sister had looked pointedly at the small patch of tulips that had previously encompassed the whole side yard. They were already dying, and the bulbs would have to be planted again soon. I had been planning an intense Internet search for that.
"I'd like to see you do better," I had muttered, but agreed nonetheless. I left the actual hiring to my sister, though.
Which led me to this moment, staring at a stranger on my doorstep and hoping rather desperately that there had been a mistake and he was not, in fact, the gardener my sister had hired.
"Can you… wait here, for a moment?" I asked the man. He nodded, clasping his dirt-encrusted gloves in one hand, and tugging at his ponytail with the other. I scurried inside.
Ella was supremely unconcerned.
"Who cares if he's dirty?" she asked, looking torn between amusement and exasperation. "G

“Now I don’t want you backing out anytime today, you got me?” Elizaveta commanded you as she pointed her finger to you strictly.
She had brought you to the grocery store to spy on Mathias while he worked at the Deli meat counter. So basically, you were there to stalk and go out with the man of your dreams. Great, right? Other than the fact that you would spend the next few hours watching Mathias, you were upset at the entire idea of doing it the way Elizaveta planned on going about it. She planned on p

"I have the heat on, idiot," she muttered, rolling up the window from her side. Victor jerked his arm out of the way just before the window rolled up fully, and turned to regard her half-hearted glare with a grin.
"C'mon. Reincarnation. You. Sound legit?"
"No," Taylor said, rolling her eyes. "There's just no way it's possible. And I know you don't believe in reincarnation, either. You've told me that before, when you were taking Religious Studies."
"Well, yeah, that Hindu thing was nuts, but I would've liked to know who I was," Victor said cheerily, tapping his fingers on the car window, watching the cars zoom past him. His fingers twitched towards the window button, and Taylor pre-emptively put her finger on the button on her side, keeping one hand on the wheel.

Guilt. Fear. Regret.
You felt every single one of this feelings as you looked at Ivan's shocked face. As he started to walk away. You started running. You wanted to reach him. Hug him. Say "I'm sorry". But he didn't stop walking even when you called his name.
- Ivan! Ivan! - you yelled, tears coming to your eyes, making your vision blur.
He didn't look back.
His hands didn't hold your face.
His lips didn't touch yours.
His voice didn't say he would protect you.
When he dropped something, you picked it up almost automatically. You felt terrible when you opened the little box and saw what was inside.
A wedding ring.
A wedding ring!
You fell on your knees as you started crying.
When you arrived home, it was terribly quiet. Ivan wasn't there. You didn't really expected him to be waiting for you, but you felt horrible anyway.
You even had the strength to hold your tears, at least until you started taking a shower. When the warm water touched your face, you remembered the day you and I

An empty tissue box hit the wall. “That stupid bastard!” You screamed with tears streaming down your face. The sound of the impact made you wince. The sobbing was smothered once you curled into a ball on the couch.
‘He was using me.’
You rubbed your mascara on your pants, not caring if they were ruined. This was a nightmare. Just when you thought a person in your life cared (that person who just happened to be your boss), fires you from their life. The word of “termination” still stung.
Perhaps it was your own fault. Who in the hell would think that it would work? Of course, you were hopeful. Well… maybe it was your optimism that was wrong with you. When did you turn into an optimist anyway? You were born a realist and reality isn’t sugar and sweets. It was hell itself. That’s what it always was and always will be. One boy isn’t going to change your outlook on life. (F/n). You’re screwed.

"You're not helping." You glared. Again, she giggled.

"Really? Really?" I complained. Teams for capture the flag were just decided and... well, basically it was everybody with some sort of godly war power against everybody else, including me. Thalia and and Annabeth were against me so I just thought about giving up right there.
"Really, Seaweed Brain." Thalia grinned and pranced off into the woods to her team, twirling an arrow in her right hand.
"Good luck." Annabeth patted my head and followed Thalia. I groaned and ran to the creek. If I was going down, might as well be near my only source of strength. Unless there were some blue cupcakes around the field...
When I got to the creek, it was already lined with people from the opposing team. I tried to act cool and walk away but Thalia shot an arrow right through my shirt sleeve, the force of the arrow was so strong that I ended up nailed to a boulder.
