A very rare sight (atleast for photographs) are weather-born waterfalls, especially for the desert of southern, utah. This small waterfall was formed because of flash flood rain covering the area in which I was hiking.
When I arrived in the area (called Red Cliffs, I come here often) everything was fine. I was hoping that the rain in the distance would cause more than just a couple of inches of water which normally ran through the Red Cliffs in this area, if any water at all. To my surprise, once I crossed the small stream of river with my car, I noticed a bit further up that there was a flash flood brewing. Within minutes, the water was more than 15 feet further up on the road than normal -- causing me to be trapped inside the park for more than 3 hours. During Lightning, thunder, and flash flood rains, I ventured out of my car to this small spot where you only see a tiny waterfall a few times a year. I call this waterfall the Peaceful Flood.
Finally, after 16 months, here is my completed diorama of Seishirou and Hokuto playing chess based off of Clamp’s Tokyo Babylon manga original release volume 5 pgs 31-32. Originally the scene was just of them playing chess at the table, but I wanted to change it and include some sweets also
Everything is hand painted with acrylics/iridescents/water mixable oils.
Seishirou and Hokuto are completely scratch built and sculpted of Magic Sculpt with a Super Sculpey/SS Firm armature.
Everything else in the scene is not sculpted by me, but rather store bought. I did repaint or otherwise modify everything in the scene, the sole exceptions being the white table and utensils. The changes are as follows:
-the table and chairs originally came in a 5 piece set with two more chairs. I ripped off the chair backs, painted the legs black and added a white magic sculpt cushion.
-I added tea into the originally empty cups.-I added a very light dark brown pattern to the plates-Half the donuts originally were different color frosting with sprinkles. The other half was mini pasties that I modified into donuts. All were repainted. Seishirou’s angel cream donut was puttied and repainted.
-The cake was originally all green and whole. I removed a few pieces from it, added chocolate frosting, and strawberry filling. The little loose strawberries were part of the mini pasties.
-the chess board was originally black and gold changed to black and white.
-The floor was oversized dollhouse black and white tile floor that was cut to size and repainted
-the donut box was completed repainted to be a mini Mister Donut box.
This is a Fan art sculpture for my own private collection.
Well, it took a while but I finally finished it! I think I first drew this just because I wanted to draw him in that hat and it got a little more complicated than that and again I think I was reading too many comic books. I hope I did a good job though!
