The girl is Dara, one of my OCs, and it's showing her in her unterwater world. I didn't have trouble to work out the concept and composition but it was hard to color it. And in the end, I'm very disappointed about the scan =A='' But I still like the piece and I hope some of you like it too! c: I totally missed to draw those old Korean buildings. They are so awesome!
My boyfriend said that it didn't look like underwater but I wanted to draw a world where you couldn't say at first sight where you were. Also, the atmosphere should be serious and calm, therefore I didn't want to add any water bubbles. I used some textures from cgtextures.com on the roof of the buildings and on the shark in the front. The rest is done with fineliner and colored pencils.
I was really exited about this contest from the moment I got the notification because it's the first huge "photomanipulation-contest" I've seen since I'm active on dA. My old Wacom Bamboo is almost dying, so I could really use a new one. I definitely don't expect to win anything, seeing how the digipaintings dominate the popular contest entries already frustrates me a little, though.
Anyway, I'm quite happy how this image turned out. I had a feeling I only produced crap recently, but this period seems to be over now and I'm glad
-drawn in photoshop CS4 while watching Adventure Time with Fin and Jake : D (really late into the night)
The birds I know are kind of a cop-out, buut this drawing really was just for fun, so I don't mind them being all, well, you know. The Children were fun to paint, and this marks my first painting with an actual male character in a while lol.
how to find the scribble Look closely at the boy holding the sword and shield. The scribble is the jagged outline of his hood and arm, the outline on the left side of his hand holding the sword and the circle on the shield. gold stars for all of you who can find it! If you need more help then here's a pic of all the layers except bg colour and the scribbles, at 50% opacity I did not paint over the scribble or outline them, they are still in their original black lines, and were the very top layer in my psd file lol
This is the pumpkin that sucked away all my carving time on Saturday and Sunday. That's right, I spent two days on this thing. I was marathoning the movies while I carved, and this one took up half of 3, and all of 4, 5, and 6. It's crazy man. Be sure to check out the full view for epicness.
So this is actually my 100th carved pumpkin in the 10 years I've been at this. I knew I wanted to go big, so I carved the full crest of Hogwarts, complete with both banners! This one was all me, and all about the shading. It took forever. This thing is so gigantic and detailed, the pictures don't do it justice. I'm really happy with how it turned out, but I regret how long it took. I could have easily carved the other 4 patterns I wanted in the time it took this beast. But it wouldn't be Halloween if I didn't show off just a little
What does DrPepper taste like? It taste like a party contained in a single bottle. Too early for Mardi Gras? Non sense, DrPepper is the essence of Mardi Gras. So lets take it to N.Y.C. "DrPepper the ultimate party drink!!!"
