Abyss- A water dragon TF storyIf you stare into the abyss....
...The abyss stares back into you.
The boy crouched on the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea, he couldn't have been over thirteen or 5 foot 3 as he stared down over the edge to the rocks below with green eyes, tan cargo shorts and a navy blue t-shirt made up his attire. A tiny forest bordered the cliff behind him as two people, obviously his friends make their way through this forest to him...
"Max!" the older of the boys called to the boy on the cliff...
I sigh and look back at Kyle, his black hair moving just enough to see him standing a few feet behind him.
"What?" I asked causualy.
"Why'd you leave?" Jake asks, stuffing his hands into his baggy jeans, he was 6 feet tall and had spiky brown hair and a scar that ran just under his left eye, which was blue. He had taken off his shirt, reavealing the sweaty muscles underneath.
"That last hit from that giant just about made me lose my lunch... besides my asthma's acting up." I say as I stand and look
In 2060, who ARE we?!As of tomorrow I'll have spent 53 years walking the Earth. OK… maybe make that 52.3 years walking, and 0.7 years crawling… Looking back over that time now I see a number of dramatic changes in how us humans live our day-to-day lives. - Smoking was everywhere, from airplane interiors to hospitals to the neighborhood breakfast bar. And its negative health effects were not widely acknowledged.
- The typical family had a working father and stay-at-home mother. Society and economics was geared to support that lifestyle.
- Gays were well-closeted and few dared to peek out. Those who did were often openly shunned.
- Conditions like ADD/ADHD and Aspergers and many others were undiagnosed and even bipolar disorder seemed less that understood by most.
- Most houses had a single telephone (though some people illegally added another independently purchased phone off their single land line).
- Most homes had a single TV – B&W and not usually larger than 20". You ha

The internet is full of wonderful tools and services. These are the tools and services I wish everyone used:
1. Password safe.
This amazing little program ensures you'll never forget how to log into any of your accounts ever again. It creates a file that stores lists of accounts (along with the password and more) however you see fit to arrange them. It locks the file with one master password, which I suggest you make fairly strong. http://xkcd.com/936/
2. Gmail and Google+.
It's no secret that I love Google, but I have my reasons. Gmail is a great email service. Plus in this current day, an email address ending in "@gmail.com" clearly belongs to someone whom knows their way around the Internet. Additionally, with a Gmail account, you can si
Why We Readi was thinking, while editing the chapter i hope to finish later today, about why we read, since i wanted to know why i write. There are many, many reasons for reading and writing, but i wanted a broad explanation, something that sums up everything we read in a single story. This will tell me why i write in turn. Why We Read8 months ago in Personal More Like This
In our quests to find a good book, we often try to find what is exciting to us. although we all know exciting doesn't always mean a good book, we go for it and read it. we imagine the characters, walk through the story, through all the ups and downs, and then, just as it was getting good, it comes back to a sense of home again, and ends.
but it's more than that; it's that feel of butterflies in the stomach, or the goosebumps we get when we understand the situation, or the key moment or words. We try to be entertained by books, and we read because we like to celebrate. It's plain and simple; we like the good times, the good moments, and even the bad while we read about the tria
It'll Be A Long, Long Time...I was looking around on DA this past week, browsing art that interests me, etc, and i noticed something that a commentator said to me a few weeks ago. Maybe you've noticed it too; people with more pictures get more views in shorter amounts of time. while i get about 10 views a day, some other person with the same amount of deviations, but with primarily photos instead of literature, they can get as much as 10X the amount of page views in a day(depending on quality). in the end, if the quality is good enough, the pictures will make more watchers out of people. It'll Be A Long, Long Time...11 months ago in Personal More Like This
Pictures are easy: they are random pieces of art that can bring instant gratification without much more than a handful of words, and a pretty scene. people like simple, and pictures deliver. Heck, i like pictures; it sums up more words in an image than writing sentences can! i mean, look at Einstein there. does that not sum up more with less? we see a great scientific mind, and we have this connection with him because he said some

From The Dragon's Mouth – Twenty-Seventh Edition
It struck me by surprise again yesterday how small most of us really are in the grand scheme of things. I was sitting in the car waiting to get home from town, when I suddenly noticed that dozens of cars were passing us every second in other lanes. Now, it wasn't the dozens of cars passing by which really led me to have any unusual philosophical ideas….nor did they directly facilitate any creative thinking in my mind. Cars have always been on the highway; but what made me start to think about all of this in a brand new way was when I began to think about the drivers of the cars, if I had ever met them or would ever meet them, and, if I did, would ever be able to identify them as being owner of one of the cars that sped past me.
This brought in an entirely new way to think of things. It made me realize how wrapped up most of us are in our own personal and sometimes petty lives…concerned about things which matter to us,

Why Have Dragons Changed EditorialDragons; the fierce beasts tearing up the proverbial countrysides, resting in dark caves, seen as the ultimate form of antagonist in classical fantasy stories. They certainly are designated as the classic embodiment of evil, obviously referring to the serpent of genesis, and they have maintained that design through countless variations of size, color, identity, and/or history. Why then do most modern representations of the dragon instill almost every emotion besides threatened and fear? I mean, there are occasional evil dragons, but even they are usually motivated by something, which in and of itself suggests that its not doing antagonist actions simply to be hindering, but rather like a person who is placed in a position where they have to do something drastic. Why has the slithering, flying, swimming, destructive, killer carnivore become more of a symbol of wisdom and beauty in recent history?Well lets find out.Why Have Dragons Changed Editorial9 months ago in Personal More Like This

I'll start this new journal with some questions.
What do you think about the ending on Dawn of the Dragon?
Do you think they should continue the story?
Recently I have been suspicious about the actions of those that hold the rights of Spyro (Activition, or whoever has his rights).
First of all yes I suspect that maybe they could continue the trilogy (Regardless of what some people said about it; "The game ended in Dawn of the dragon".)
Then they where actually going to made a movie and TV series (Again, regardless of what some say), and like the movie from The legend series it was cancelled.
I mean, they didn't wanted to do a movie about The Legend series, and now when they see that they have the best game of Spyro on history; why do they cancel it...this leads to another thing (some might hate me because of this), Skylanders isn't a Spyro game.
Why, because they only use Spyro as an appearance, not as

I can't go any further. It's not you, it's the STD you've contracted from so many ignorant people breeding and recycling their ignorance on your majestic soil. It's the corporate gameshow you're starring in. When I was younger you looked so much prettier, but I understand now my immature mind was befuddled by your elementary-school history-book makeup and yoo-es-eh action-flick propaganda.
It's not because of your the three ring circus politics in the news right now, it's not because my 'left-wing' leader is a fraud. It's not because the 'right-wing' frontrunners are a mixture of mystic shaman and circus clowns. It's not because you tried to be the "world police" and ended up the "world mall-cop". It's not even the fact that your governing bodies have less mental faculties than that of a common high school student. It's because the majority of your people, though well-meaning, are actually taking you seriously still. It's beca

Not to be a false-poster, but this journal is no longer current. I was going through hard times when I posted it, and things are much better.
Dragons: Mammals or Reptiles? I think that Dragons could actually be mammals, not reptiles, despite the fact that they have almost always been categorized as retiles. First of all, reptiles are cold-blooded. Lizards spend most of their time staying still and hugging the floor for warmth. On the other hand, dragons are seen moving and flying much faster than lizards, proving that they are warm-blooded. You might think that dragons still can't possibly be mammals because they lay eggs. However, there are several mammals that lay eggs, the platypus being one of them. Another big reason why dragons could be mammals is because they have bat-like wings, and bats are mammals. Now you might think that dragons have scales, and mammals don't. I think this is just because people drew them with scales because they had always thought they were reptiles, but in theory dragons should be furry animals because mammals are furry. There are also dragons depicted withDragons: Mammals or Reptiles?1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Revenge of The Blind DragonessThought I'd post it on here so:Revenge of The Blind Dragoness3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The black dragon looked at her pure black egg. She regretted ever birthing the dark red one fore it would only remind her of her ill-hearted mate. The red dragon had left her once they had mated and she was left to raise his children on her own. She didn't even remember his name. Something that started with 'K',she believed. But her black egg was not so,even as it was in it's shell she felt it's fierceness,it's evil and it's violent ways. The red one would be a normal child, wanting to play. He would remember her when she took him to the nursery. A nice dragon from the Dragon Village would raise him,of course that village wouldn't be there long and the child would die in the flames-like his father.
Ten years later.....
The black dragoness smiled as she watched her hatchlings fight. Magma, the red egg, turned out to be meaner than she thought. He was dark red with a dark golden underbelly. His horns curled downward and were white. But greater than him wa

The sun began to set as the viking ships neared the docks of Berk. Nearly four months had passed since Stoic, and the other vikings had left on their trading excursion.
All though he was tired from the long voyage, Stoic could not quell the growing excitement with in him. He could not wait to see Hiccup.
As his thoughts circled on Hiccup, he felt a heavy weight press down on his shoulders. Since Hiccup's defeat of the Green Death, their relationship had steadily started to mend itself. But constant relapse's haunted Stoic every time he looked up to find Hiccup was not in the room. On more then one occasion, Hiccup had returned from flying with Toothless only to get a harsh reprimand from his father. Stoic shuddered, as he recalled the day Hiccup finally spoke up in response to his anger toward the flying duo.
Hiccup slunk in through the front door hoping his father was fast asleep. Quickly he shut the wooden door carefully so to make su

About Artists on Writers
Writers will always find inspiration in the visions of artists, always feeling compelled to tell the stories behind the moments captured in artists’ unforgettable images,
Artists will always find inspiration in the words of writers, always feeling compelled to lend visual reality and habitat to the characters described in the scribe’s haunting words.
If the severely acne-scarred face and coarse exterior brought on by his alcoholic and depressed life was the book cover of his being, then Charles was the ultimate book that could not be judged by its cover. The exquisite collection that was this everyman artist’s art consisted of thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories and six novels—mostly all wrenchingly autobiographical, mos

Who knows, I might even have a chance to publish my work one day.
But I need some support. All you friends, watchers, and people who just take a quick look at my page, I need you all to tell me to keep working on my drawings and never quit on an Idea. I need the encouragement.
Sometimes I get so discouraged from not getting anything I plan to done I can't stand it. But that's why my family and friends are there: to cheer you up in times of trouble. And that's
