[Mini-Tutorial]Posing Long Bone ChainsSince the smartprop tutorial got me an astonishing number of faves, watches, and page views, I gather the forum is not filling everyone's tutorial needs. Please feel free to request additional text tutorials for DS4.5 and Genesis here. I'm fully of the opinion that information should be free and competition should be based on merit, not on knowledge control. With that said, it has to be something you're willing to see in text-only format, and some requests will be declined ("Build A Working Giant Mech From Start to Finish" is something I technically know but one, I've never done it, and two, it would take too long to do a tutorial).[Mini-Tutorial]Posing Long Bone Chains2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Many of you probably own items such as the Genesis Fantasy Wrap, which has a ton of bones but no ERC pose controls. Here's an easy way to manage those. Hopefully some of you already know about this, because you bought the Chain Blades, which basically include this tutorial written on a giant prop that loads from the

There is always a reason. A level of insult. An unprovoked assault. A threat of invasion. A refusal to negotiate in good faith. A refusal to compromise. There is always something so unbearable that it must be righted with no more delay and by any means, by even the last means, necessary. That final means is war.
Ever since mankind became able to produce and possess more than necessary for survival, there has been a surplus of resources. It is the treasure that has built our civilization and shaped the special magic and glory of what it is to be a human being.
The struggle for control and division of that treasure sometimes infects men’s minds with a unique
HOW TO WRITE A TOTALLY AWESOME DIGIMON FDD FIC!!!!It's okay to have no ideas for plot or character arcs at all when you start writing. In fact, start with no ideas, because there is no way you'll write yourself into a corner if you don't have a plan! When you get bored with whatever you're doing in the story, if you don't have a plan, you can just introduce a new element or idea or plot thread!HOW TO WRITE A TOTALLY AWESOME DIGIMON FDD FIC!!!!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
On the note of character arcs, you should solicit people you don't know for characters. After all, having a planned-out set of character dynamics is totally overrated; real digimon canon is all about mindless fighting and no character development for 50 episodes, so what does it matter if you don't have the cast planned from the start? The characters don't have to fit together as a team at all!
Digimon are fighting machines and tools of war, especially partner digimon. They don't need personalities outside of "loyal to their partner" or one-dimensional clones of said partners— besides, can you really be expec
Demonic language rules and translationThis is the Common (English) to Demonic Translation sheet. Demonic is very hard to learn and to actually speak (unless your a demon). Certain letters are spoken which are not written, and it is just very hard. The best way to describe it is, if two letters conflict such as "zb", say something like "Zeb." That is how this language is spoken. Tricky, but once the basis is learned, it's a little easier. If you need help with anything, please comment.Demonic language rules and translation3 years ago in Personal More Like This

An Introduction to Medieval ManuscriptsEarly Christian and Byzantine ManuscriptsAn Introduction to Medieval Manuscripts1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
Before the book, there was the manuscript. I’m talking medieval manuscripts, those ancient tomes associated with dusty monasteries and devout prayers. In fact, most European medieval manuscripts were made for religious purposes, and the first known manuscripts, or codices, are early Christian. The codex was developed in the 4th to 6th centuries C.E. as a means to carry and read texts in an easier way. In ancient times, scrolls and tablets were the common way to go. With the coming of the evangelic Bible, other means were needed to carry the Christian message across the world. The codex was lighter than a tablet, and easier to read than a scroll. It was also made from parchment or vellum, which lasted much longer than papyrus, the material used for scrolls. There are scientific, philosophical and mythical texts written down in manuscripts. However, by far the most manuscripts of Medieval Europe contain texts from the

I've been "dabbling" in art for oh man....Pretty darn near 20 years. (I'm old....) Way back in the day when there used to be such things as Gaming Magazines like Nintendo Power (anyone? Anyone else remember those? ) my brother would order them through the school magazine and book drives. (see...old!) and I would go through and marvel at the game art. Back then, it was 90% traditional art. I would go through these books and copy these fantastic characters and scenes. And yes, I would actually trace. *GASP!!* They even had a fanart section where you could send in stuff. Its there I first found a man by the name of Ryan Kinnard and I looked forward to his newest arts in Playstation Magazine.
It wasn't until around 1994ish that I discover Sailor Moon and anime.&

Just prior to the show, my 6 year old son, Laine, mentioned to me that he wanted to start his own original art sketchbook, something he could take around to artists at shows and get sketches......"like daddy does". Imagine my surprise and utter joy at the idea! Anyone who knows me knows my passion for original art. Ive already been aware of my sons interest and notable artistic ability but I wasnt sure if he got the concept of what it was I was doing in terms of collecting originals.
Seeing as how Laine has an obsession with Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, doing a Capt Jack themed sketchbook seemed like a no-brainer. Its also a fun idea, not your typical Batman/Wolver
No Excuses: "They Tell Me I Can't"Fuck 'em. What the hell do they know anyways? No Excuses: "They Tell Me I Can't"3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Now I know thats a little bit harsh language but this excuse really pisses me off. I'm not angry at the person who uses the excuse "they tell me I can't," I'm pissed at the people who tells the person they can't. Seriously, anyone who says you can't do it is making up shit and doesn't know what they're talking about.
I've heard many different variations of this excuse. "THEY" can be your mother, father, brother, sister, best friend, teacher. "They" can be people on forums, or professionals you've talked to that have their head so far up their ass they forgot what it was like to start out. But no matter who "They" are, the fact of the matter is they don't know anything about what you're trying to do. So what qualifies them to judge if you can do it or not?
What reasons did they give you to back up this wild claim of "you can't do it?" Was it because You don't have the education? the skills? Is
