The Immortal Regret.
I see upon a hill,
the setting sun, fleeing from the night...
The moon coming above that horizon for the kill,
to rise and banish to darkness all light.
Though time brushes over creation,
I live on, a slave to immortality.
Though I was the choser of my own damnation,
Twas humanity that was the cause of my brutality.
Now the world around me decays,
unlike my flesh and mind...
Time has left my future in a haze,
and the changing world has been unkind.
I see upon a hill, but another slope downward,
where the pointless journey continues on...
unto to no end is my existence forever moving forward
Nostalgia is dead, as my past is forever gone.

She is brilliant, they say,
but she knows she is lost.
Numbers are her companion,
she understands their mean, average.
Words can twist her brain,
she loves the wonder they bring.
She is intelligent, they say,
she doesn't feel clever enough.
Sometimes she feels clever too much.
Excusez-moi, in perfect French,
but nothing is gained by perfect word tense.
She is clever, they say.
But she is not clever the way they know.
She sees things as they are,
and she prefers her thoughts to the world.
She knows she loves them more than they in return,
and her friends will be there until they wont.
Friends reassure her, you'll be okay,
she puts a smile on her face.
She loves them as much as any,
even though there aren't many.
They bring out the best in her,
the happy girl,
not swamped by words.
The one who isn't drowning in formula.

MistakesIf every mistake I ever madeMistakes2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
was a scar on my body
there would be no pure skin.
Every inch would host a jagged line
where my so called 'selfish pride'
managed to get the better of me.
Idiot mistakes of my youth,
and moronic declarations
of what I thought was insignificant.
Mistakes, errors of judgment,
a complete lapse in sense,
that litter my skin with memories of pain.
For a moment
I thought I was important
not someone to be overlooked.
My selfish pride betwixt me
for everything was little
compared to the pride I raised.
A fall to Earth
waking on concrete
no one besides me.
My mistakes are scars
littering my skin
tainting once pure flesh.
Blunders of thoughts,
guilt as endless as the sky,
never ending weight of it.
are meant to be just that
Though they haunt my thoughts everyday
I can't help but hope that one day
they will be scars instead of thoughts
so everyone else will know
they thoughts that haunt me everyday.
The Changing TideThe Changing Tide2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The era is now passed through which I lived and favored,
and my patience then packs its bags for hiatus,
with which to remind me that perhaps
brighter days lie in sunny hammocks ahead.
Here and alas lays the road to that sunny setting,
upon which I walk and tread the changing tide.
The next item on the list of Fates agenda and her passionate affair with time...
the seconds will carry on like the beats of my undying heart.
The fire that burns in my eyes, through which I see is only assuaged
by the tears they produce...
the tears I produce in my longing for some peace of some sort.
Yet those tears shall only accompany the sweat of my efforts.
Once upon a time, in the dream come true through which I slept,
did a fairy tale once existů
that tale of my tale through endless times of a dream come true
and gone by in the era that I once lived and favored.

And so I tried to hold your letters
the way you used to hold my hand;
fingers spaced between torn edges and
around undotted i's.
Guiding me away
from those gentle autumn leaves that
I had loved to crunch
so very much.
But instead, I stepped against the sunspots
of every promise you had broken
trying just to pull some meaning from a sentence
ending with "goodbye".
And when my eyes began to slide over the words you had misspelled,
I closed your note
and tore it into nothing.
Nothing but a sad reminder that once again you had cracked
like those gentle autumn leaves
that I had loved
so very much.

A somber raise of the glasses,
the unbroken, yet half empty...
A somber cheers, in memoriam.
The reminder of great loss,
Well known to the uninvolved,
As a mark to remain upon history.
Vindictively vicious was
the scar ever unhealed,
Left upon a body already
mangled and slowly recovering.
How strange, this cycle of affliction.
How off the resemblance of occurrences
O'Lord, my infinite prayers...
to this horrid event in past.
To those taken to their appointed place
here after in the Afterlife.
Those fallen souls may they forever rest...

What is this delusion before me?
This dreadful illusion that I do now see?
I fear such terror from the powers that be...
Those angels above, those demons below.
The Horsemen to come reap and to sew.
I see the once powerful flock, now come so low.
God how I pray this to be but a phase,
To leave this to past and within a haze.
Bring us out of this horrid maze!
Your people stand divided, stumbling forward
To a future cloudy and grim, blinded yet onward.
Power drunken fools, ignorant to your true word.
Give me this life's chance to make due change,
To adjust and assist in this time so strange...
This time in which we must to our ways estrange.
Father, I swear to you, that with my power,
Until my last breath and final hour,
I will restore you and never once cower.
With so many that believe not,
Who never found the proof they ever sought,
I will do what I may, as if never have I fought.

You carried them away saying, "I'll use these
to fill the empty spaces of my universe."
You proceeded to tape them to your eyelids,
wear them like Augusts leaves along your limbs.
"I will be your voice and I will sing your words to the trees."
Slender spider fingers prancing across my misspelled scrawl.
The MaidenThe Maiden2 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
Once a being, just once to find,
she blossomed between the folds of time;
a maiden whom no words defined.
Her qualities, such were divine.
A rose which when expressed, would shine
with beauty, love; the words would rhyme
when seen as one, in one so fine.
Ones heart would melt and so did mine.
But life, it is true, was never kind,
to lives of beings like hers and mine.
For things do change, cocoons do split.
Mountains too, shall crush to grit.
Fate is what, none can escape.
Endowed it is; feel free to debate.
She lit in me, an unknown spark,
like fireflies, they spin, they dart,
fascinating the world and I,
Such were the wonders of her eyes.
But yearn as I might, might I cry,
Scream my heart, tear through the sky,
what's meant shall happen, no ado,
such brief a gaze, I never knew.
No words I held within I spoke.
Who knew she'd disappear like smoke.
And since that day, I feel that I am;
condemned for crimes committed by
but wait am I one to decide?
What's right or wrong? Don't live
Sacrificial LambThere, an alter drenched with stainsSacrificial Lamb2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Rusty and ancient
A lonely finger caressed smooth marble
A Crumbling ode to a lost Deity
There had long been an offering
To that thirsty Goddess
Only one, but the blood remained present for long after
Old and worn after centuries of time
And there was a poor lamb, led to the sparkling marble
Already starving and at the verge of collapse
And there the lamb was tied, to that alter
Left in the embrace of the Goddess
Where she slowly restored it to health and happiness
The lamb did not know through all of its glee, what was to come
The blade that rested across its throat
Waiting for the moment...
Monument to a Ruined ManI see you now.Monument to a Ruined Man2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The magnificent velvet and silk flags of your name
Now fester and rot in tatters.
The ornate gold and jewels, now dull and blackened with age,
Hang limply from the brittle, yellowing scaffolds
Of your admiring subjects, their mouths gaping open in one last,
All loyalty long since disappeared.
And here you stand
Alone in the silence of your own undoing-
No longer a ruler, or even a man, but a shell-
The hands whose wizened palms I once worshipped
Have crumbled slowly into nothing.
Those lips, whose stately curve I once adored,
Now worn and cracked from centuries of smiling.
But your smiles were never intended for me.
How I longed for something more than
The cold, conceited gaze with which I was rewarded.
But time passed, your influence waned, and now you stare emptily
Searching in vain for your salvation.
And here, as your empire dies,
You fall to the ash and dust
And are swallowed by darkness
And whispers echo through the void:
This is your legacy.

Our own, the love undying
to the very cadence of Heaven's joy.
This paradise discovered,
that when my heart speaks of you,
with a burning passion,
that right away I write away.
Thank you God, for Anael's gift...
This now love from afar,
to this portrait of perfection
That to I shall return....
To this, my angelic fire,
I am bound forevermore,
by unbreakable vows
to that true sense of belonging...
For this living gift,
Shall I be home in a heartbeat,
to fulfill that elated kiss,
To glorify her in full.

Falling from heaven on Gaia's mortal fear
Weeping in unity their children's lost soul
Heaven's pure spirit evil now doth control
Eden of rapture consumed by time's flow
A lost utopia where gluttony doth grow.
Alluring serpent's lair humans covet the bait
Devourer of truth so poisoned with hate
Innocence now lost in maelstrom of desire
Purity long blackened by greed's hungry fire
The spirit debased evil darkens the heart
The nefarious abductor tears the soul apart
The moment approaches the farmer shall reap
Love now eternal for faithful lost sheep
Gnashing of teeth those left in despair
Time now elapsed for repentance and prayer
Renounce the darkness and take gentle heed
Embrace the truth be the Lamb's seed

So long ago began
the ever growing free for all,
The all you can eat,
dog eat dog world,
are the simplistic struggles.
So out of hand,
that solutions become
straight out and down
from the kitchen above,
down the slip n' slide
through the caverns
of mishaps and mistakes,
I bet it tastes like regret,
and the buyer's remorse,
Reap what you sew say
the teeth of the demon,
With every bite sinks
in a shame filled saliva.
"Maybe we'll slow them down!"
Say the so called thinkers...
I can't help but think against them,
but what do I know?
I'm just a common crumb in the trough.
Above Heaven watches,
restricted by the local law
to keep the peace...
nothing is ever done,
but to keep the balance.

You shone bright amongst the darkness
My dying star
Your damaged soul fueling my infatuation.
The memories beneath those eyelids
Burned at your soul
Though you didn't see fit to trust me with them.
With the freezing of your heart
And the flicker of your wrist,
You cast me aside.
Brooding on your own
Plunging us back into the blackest of nights.
But through the darkness
You still saw the moon
A beacon of hope on the bleak horizon.
And as I sat amongst the darkness
Bathed in the lunar eclipse
I realized there was no hope for a dying star.

A burning blade into
The hearts of many.
You know me not
But a name and a rumor.
Yes, to the will and way
By which I attempt to live.
Human am I, yet ever so strange.
Far gone, and close to madness
But still am I sane
By Death and a prayer.

In some cases it might be true.
But there is also a truth that goes untold,
Even if it might be quite blue.
Silence is sometimes bad,
Not always so don't get upset.
Some things that are evil can make us go mad,
Some things that are even a threat.
Even if your enemies will make your blood boil,
The silence of your friends will be what hurts you more.
Words might hurt us, but silence can torment us.
Paper HeartsA clean sheet is how it starts,Paper Hearts2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
An innocent life, with an unblemished heart
Pure bliss of a smile, happy affairs
A laugh, a giggle,
A world with no cares
But each day the paper ages
On it's surface, is found a new stain,
And each day the pencil moves,
All the paper feels is pain
The writer is not always the owner,
For the paper can be stolen from time, to time
And if you take the heart,
It will not come back unscarred
But the words can lie,
The heart can die
Rewrite the story,
Create a new life

in this chair when I sit?
Can I place my faith,
and relax in it?
Can I trust in the sun?
Can I trust in the moon?
Can I depend on daylight to shine?
Can I trust the moon to glow?
If I go to the stop at the corner,
will the bus eventually come?
If I go to the bank,
will my money still be there?
Will the grocery store always be full?
Will Wal-Mart’s prices always be low?
Can I have faith in nature?
Can I put any trust in the world?
If people make a promise,
can I rely on them to keep their word?
I put faith in nature and the world.
I trust people at their word.
I put my faith in things from the world.
What about the One in heaven?
Can I have faith in God above?
Can I trust in His love?
Can I depend on the Lord of hosts?
Can I believe He is close?
Can I go to church and trust in Him?
Can I trust He’ll hear, even when my voice is thin?
Can I believe God is there?
Can I trust He heard my prayer?
Do I believe God rises the sun?

I have nothing that I can give
Cause I was never taught to live
How do I know what is pain?
I disappear into the rain
Carry me on angel's arms
Don't let me ever come to harm
The blade will cut into my skin
I face the enemy within...
And I feel him, and I feel him cry
And I feel him, and I feel him cry
What do you want from me?
Take me slowly
Are you the man I'm meant be?
Suddenly the lights go out
I open up and try to shout
Gasping out my final cry
Is this how I'm meant to die?
Lead me home once again
Let me face this world and then-
I will try to get control
Won't let this feeling take it's toll...
And I feel him, I feel him cry
And I feel him, I feel him cry
What do you want from me?
Take me slowly
Are you the man I'm meant be?
Why can't you see?
We'll both be sorry
If you take this life from me!

Just like my life
I just take one step forward
And two steps back
Falling further and further down this hole
I try to explain it to people
They don't understand
