The Immortal Regret.
I see upon a hill,
the setting sun, fleeing from the night...
The moon coming above that horizon for the kill,
to rise and banish to darkness all light.
Though time brushes over creation,
I live on, a slave to immortality.
Though I was the choser of my own damnation,
Twas humanity that was the cause of my brutality.
Now the world around me decays,
unlike my flesh and mind...
Time has left my future in a haze,
and the changing world has been unkind.
I see upon a hill, but another slope downward,
where the pointless journey continues on...
unto to no end is my existence forever moving forward
Nostalgia is dead, as my past is forever gone.
Insanity's GraspTick, tock, tick, tockInsanity's Grasp2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Watch your body, limply rock
Drip, drop, drip, drop
Smell your body, slowly rot
Tip, toe, tip, toe
One step over, the edge you go
Breathe, slow, Breathe, slow
This is your last breath you know
Twiddle, Dee, twiddle, dumb
Feel your body, going numb
Rap tap Tum, rap tap Tum
Your heart it beets, like a drum
Think, fast, think, fast
Insanity, has your heart, in grasp
Black, out, black, out
It's over now, without a doubt
The Changing TideThe Changing Tide2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The era is now passed through which I lived and favored,
and my patience then packs its bags for hiatus,
with which to remind me that perhaps
brighter days lie in sunny hammocks ahead.
Here and alas lays the road to that sunny setting,
upon which I walk and tread the changing tide.
The next item on the list of Fates agenda and her passionate affair with time...
the seconds will carry on like the beats of my undying heart.
The fire that burns in my eyes, through which I see is only assuaged
by the tears they produce...
the tears I produce in my longing for some peace of some sort.
Yet those tears shall only accompany the sweat of my efforts.
Once upon a time, in the dream come true through which I slept,
did a fairy tale once existů
that tale of my tale through endless times of a dream come true
and gone by in the era that I once lived and favored.
MistakesIf every mistake I ever madeMistakes3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
was a scar on my body
there would be no pure skin.
Every inch would host a jagged line
where my so called 'selfish pride'
managed to get the better of me.
Idiot mistakes of my youth,
and moronic declarations
of what I thought was insignificant.
Mistakes, errors of judgment,
a complete lapse in sense,
that litter my skin with memories of pain.
For a moment
I thought I was important
not someone to be overlooked.
My selfish pride betwixt me
for everything was little
compared to the pride I raised.
A fall to Earth
waking on concrete
no one besides me.
My mistakes are scars
littering my skin
tainting once pure flesh.
Blunders of thoughts,
guilt as endless as the sky,
never ending weight of it.
are meant to be just that
Though they haunt my thoughts everyday
I can't help but hope that one day
they will be scars instead of thoughts
so everyone else will know
they thoughts that haunt me everyday.

A somber raise of the glasses,
the unbroken, yet half empty...
A somber cheers, in memoriam.
The reminder of great loss,
Well known to the uninvolved,
As a mark to remain upon history.
Vindictively vicious was
the scar ever unhealed,
Left upon a body already
mangled and slowly recovering.
How strange, this cycle of affliction.
How off the resemblance of occurrences
O'Lord, my infinite prayers...
to this horrid event in past.
To those taken to their appointed place
here after in the Afterlife.
Those fallen souls may they forever rest...
The Illusion of YouUnsteadily I walkThe Illusion of You3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Upon a delicate sheet of ice that could cave
At any given moment
The moonlight kisses my face
And implores the stars to guide my way home
Frosty winds hum the illusion of your voice
That ignites a fire deep within my soul
Darkness stretches on for eternity
Deafening silence shatters the night
As soft, white flakes fall from the sky
Painting an Arctic masterpiece
Vivid images of you drive me onward
Will I make it to the other side?
Will you be there waiting for me?
The crisp crunch of snow 'neath my boots
Makes my heart pound with every step
I catch a glimpse of you across the way
Are you real?
Is this real?
My feet in time with my heartbeat, I race toward you
Calling out your name
Arms outstretched wearing a wicked smile
You welcome me
Suspended in time as the ice splits
One last glimpse of that twisted smile
And in that single moment
Everything was perfect

And I know...
You're in love with her -
I'm just your friend.
I am nothing else.
I am Nothing to you;
I'm a ghost that listens
to your many woes;
I give you space to
take a deep breath in;
I am who you turn to
when you have no one;
I'm always there for you,
but never actually there.
My name is Nothing.
And I know it was absurd
for me to think that
I could be her,
that I could be...

My SuicideSay goodbye to all the painMy Suicide3 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Everyone gets their wish
No ugly comments in my brain
And there is no one left to miss.
Goodbye to all the things you said
None of them matter now
And all of the things that you misread
I know this will make up for it somehow.
The wasted years and time that passed
Will be gone before you know it
This is my turn, my spell to be cast
Just pray that I wont blow it.
You're finally getting what you want
This is no time to cry
The tears I cried and the names you taunt
All lead to this... my suicide...

Lurks a beast's sad lullaby
Weeping for a slice of respite
From the desperate and decrepit
His mind is cut into three
Him, his thoughts, his feelings free
Two heads to which he lost control
One that serves a useless role
Left to be a lone bystander
Hidden from such wanted candor
For those two heads speak in tongues
Foreign to the ears of young
Blind to the heads on either side
Wildly guessing what they hide
Secret whispers taunt his dreams
Nothing soothes his unheard screams
He limps across the woods with shame
No longer sure what he became
Two heads lead his unseen path
Whisp'ring tales of hidden wrath

Why do I even care?
What life have I chosen?
Why is it hard to bear?
What should I do?
Will I just carry on?
Is this all there is?
Have I got it so wrong?
What does one do?
Which road will I take?
Where do I belong?
In this big mistake.

Watcher of the NightHe waits in the shadowsWatcher of the Night3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Watching and learning
Trying to resist
His unconquerable yearning
An actor of rare disguise
Covering half-truths with unfinished lies
His plans twist and turn
Taking years for fruition
After which he disappears
A forgotten apparition
While lesser men succumb
To the beckoning temptation
He stands regardless
Steadfast by his station
Vigil of the darkness
Watcher of the night
Countless men have tried
To evade his inhuman sight
He is the sum of his fears
For he chooses what he wants to be
He has uncertainties, he has doubts
But is afraid intentionally
He tends the shades of the mighty
And the shadows of the weak
Stifling their deceit
And plugging up the leaks
He watches and learns
Trying to fit in
But he'll soon realize
It's a battle he can't win
The cycle repeats
However hard he fights
But his fate is sealed
As Watcher of the Night
