She walked alone through the tall, wrought-iron gates as she had so many times before and into the lush, green reserve that bore the name Shepard's Park. The trees had grown so tall since the first time she came here. Back then they were just hastily planted saplings that only came up to her waist. Now they towered over her and shaded the people in the park from the hot afternoon sun. A light breeze stirred from the east and blew pleasantly in and around the trees rustling the leaves and branches. Liara couldn't help but smile as the cool breeze caressed her skin as she strolled towards the center of the sprawling park to the only building, the only construct on the three hundred acre lot.
Here and there people enjoyed the beautiful weather playing games, walking among the trees or having picnics as chirping birds looked down from the branches and dogs frolicked in the grass. Many took notice of her, bein

Shepard and Thane
The captain's quarters are far off from the engineering deck, but I can still hear the hum of the engines if I shut the music off and listen to the quiet. Most nights, it's enough to get me to sleep.
I'll lay back and watch the stars crawl by through the skylight, or watch the fish flit around in their tanks. Slowly, it becomes harder and harder to keep my eyes open. I'll roll over so the glow of the fish tank doesn't penetrate the darkness behind my closed eyes as I drift off to sleep.
The darkness is overwhelming. If I squint really, really hard I can just barely make out the pinpricks of distant stars. But it's so hard to keep my eyes open. I'm cold. Freezing cold, so cold I feel like my bones will implode and my skin will tear as it shrivels and tightens and I open my mouth to scream.
I can't. I open my mouth, try to

Liara T'Soni-Shepard exits her skycar into the pouring rain, the gunmetal-grey skies blocking out the sun. She wears a simple black dress and carries a bouquet of white flowers from Thessia. The grieving doctor doesn't bother with an umbrella, instead letting the rain wash over her skin, mixing with her tears. She begins her slow walk towards the large group of people crowded underneath a wide awning, when suddenly a hand grips her shoulder reassuringly, and the rain stops. Looking over her shoulder, she finds Garrus holding an umbrella over her, his expression unreadable. He nods to her, his grip speaking volumes as he guides her towards the crowd. As they near the group, Liara notices that nearly everyone has shown up today.

Shepard woke up with a jerk and it took her brain a couple of seconds to remember where she was and what she was doing there. As her eyes darted around the small, dark room she spotted the familiar shape of Aria sitting on the couch, a padd in her hands, a concentrated look on her face. The human imagined that Aria kept a change of clothes in here, since she was perfectly dressed in a fresh outfit.
Shepard got up from the bed and walked over to her, picking up her uniform along the way and getting dressed herself, before sitting down next to the Asari. "Interesting read?"

Her final defiant shout was lost as her world blossomed in beautiful, terrifying, all-consuming light and heat. She heard her flesh sizzling and searing and smelled the acrid stench of it even as she inhaled those hungry flames and felt the terrible intensity of the living fire within her breast. The agony crushed her physically and lit every nerve in hyper-sensitive torment as she felt herself picked up and thrown like so much trash across an endless expanse of forever.
It was her end. Again. Her last moments. Again.
A part of her absently recalled those thoughts of despair from before. Since her resurrection, she spent hours each day living in that memory of the woman who should be dead. They haunted her soul shadowing every act in her life with a reminder of impermanence, wrongness, time stolen and the cold touch of death on her heart.

"Shepard, it's late and you should get some sleep", Garrus sighed, looking up from the datapad on which he was handling multiple matters of turian state security. Since becoming Primarch he'd found that even in the rare moments where he found himself alone with friends, rather than surrounded by the rest of the Hierarchy, there were still some things that simply could not be put off. Right now, he needed his best friend to stop glaring out of the mirrored window at the assembled press below and go to bed so he could get some work done before turning in himself.
"I know, but for some strange reason, I can't", Captain Kira Shepard replied. "Something to do with oh, I don't know, getting married tomorrow?". She turned toward him, arms folded across her chest and smirked at her bulwark, her brother-in-arms, as he wrestled with yet more reports of fleet strengths and reconstruction efforts that were only now hitting their stride, almost a

Commander Shepard was used to long days. As she rubbed the back of her neck on her way toward the elevator she reflected that people seemed to think she was invulnerable. When you were the savior of the galaxy several times over, people tended to forget that you needed little things like food and rest. It was as if they expected you to be able to live on heroism alone.

However, when she finally reached the elevator, Traynor

Two years later after Shepard had left the council due to all the political bullshit (if he accepted the offer), Shepard wakes up and looks to his right to see Tali laying there beside him her eyes closed and breathing softly, with her mask off and was cuddled up close to Shepard.
"Commander," Edi said contacting Shepard through his omni-tool, "we are approaching the Citadel."
"Thanks Edi," Shepard said as he looked at Tali's face.
"Shepard there something else," Edi said.
"What's that, Edi?" Shepard asked.
"The Quarian Admiralty board wants to talk to you and Tali about the recent news you dropped on them," Edi said.
"Keelah," Tali said drowsily, her eyes still closed, "I knew there was going to be repercussions from telling them that about us, but this is the fifth time they have called."
"Shall we ignore them a bit longer?" Shepard asked.
"No we better see them this time," Tali said as she sat up and put her mask back on.

"To watch you play with antiques?" Liara added, walking around and looked the machine up and down with disinterest.
Why Miranda had called him, Liara, and Kaidan up here was beyond him, but she insisted it had to do with Shepard. Didn't it always? Shepard had been dead after she took control of the Reapers. Life moved on without her, but the friends she left behind still missed her.
"No, to meet someone," Miranda answered cryptically. Well didn't that help explain everything.
"From where?" Kaidan remarked.
"Not where, when," With that final statement, Miranda finished the data and the machine lit up, engulfing the room in a bright light.

MASS EFFECT 3 ALTERNATE ENDING *SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY*
**EDIT** Holy crap this got way more attention than I was expecting. The comments and support have been amazing everyone!
A few points: Credit where credit is due; this ending, as much as everyone seems to love it, was only created because the amazing team at Bioware created a universe that was so rich and full of life and detail. As much as I know a lot of fans are hurt by what they did, we need to remember that Bioware still created an incredible trilogy, one of the best ever. So hats off to them all round.
Also, this was written really fast and so the ending (specifically the last part on how you actually win using TIM's signal) isn't very fleshed out. I know there are holes, and they can actually be fixed quite easily. This isn't perfect. Also, this doesn't deal with a 'happy' ending. If there were to be one, or you were to even CONSIDER taking the fourth option, you'd need to be damn ready. I'm talking ALL war assets e

"Yeah!! me... and my new friend" she answered grinning showing Shepard the liquor bottle

Shepard sighed. At this point, it was hard to decide which was worse: being taken into custody for destroying the Alpha Relay, or listen to an angry Joker as the Alliance had sent word that when they docked, all crew must leave the ship was it now is their property.
"This is outrageous! I mean, what now?"
Shepard shook her head. If she knew that, then she wouldn't be in this mess. With the Reapers coming, being arrested for keeping them at bay made fighting them seem all the more daunting.

The door slid shut behind her. The afforded privacy did not inspire Liara to leave the terminal.

'Twas the night before the reapers came, and all through the land,

while thinking of gunshots flying through the air.
The husks were skewered all snug on their spikes,
with visions of devouring cute human tykes.

Had hustled poor James in poker, the poor noobie sap.
When down on Earth there arose such a clatter,
Shepard leapt into action to put an end to the matter.
Down to the Normandy he ran oh so very fast,
and thought of the decisions he had made in the past.
The moon was one of the first places to go,
and the civilians could do little but cry "where'd it go?"
When, what do my wondering eyes should appear,
but a big badass Krogan drinking a couple of beers.
With a giant shotgun, so powerful yet quick,
I knew in a moment Wrex had asses to kick.

Everyone she valued and loved died. She sank to her knees and leaned against the wall as she tore off her chest-plate. Exhaustion, loss and pain swelled up in her breast making it hard to breathe, to think. The pain was thick and heavy but she fought it, pushed it down. The chorus of "Yes, sir's" that followed were of little comfort to the admiral. There were too many dead, too many that had to be tagged.
