Sectum NihilisThis happens during the first wizarding war. Severus is nineteen and a young Death Eater. He has asked Lily for a meeting. The idea came to me while musing about another novel-length fiction of mine, "The Last Secret of Dumbledore"; hence this oneshot can be read either stand alone or as a flashback in the foresaid story. I think it is canon-compatible.Sectum Nihilis5 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This

Summer was already drawing to its end. At this late hour of the night, the wind blowing on Severus' face was cold and thick with damp. He shivered and wrapped his cloak tighter around him while gravel ground under his boots. Today had been especially strenuous. The Dark Lord was hard to please and prompt to punish. Mulciber had just experienced the might of his master's wrath. However, Severus was con

"Severus, it is imperative that I speak with you."
The Potions Master looked up from his gently simmering cauldron to see the Headmaster standing in the doorway of the dungeon.
Dumbledore held up a rather shabby package wrapped in brown paper. "It has arrived." He brought it over to the table where Snape stood, and placed it on the table. "Just in time, too, for I have received a letter that an attempt has already been made." He pulled a letter out of his pocket and set it next to the little package. It was addressed to Dumbledore from the Head Goblin of Gringotts.
"So, this is really it then?" Snape asked, barely brushing the package with the tips of his fingers. When the Headmaster didn't object, Snape gingerly picked it up and removed the wrappings. A small, somewhat unimpressive, blood-red red stone sat in his hand.
It was completely unremarkable except for the way it reflected the fire under Snape's cauldron. The flames seemed to dance across the surf

“It began long ago,”
“In a hole in the ground,”
A little hobbit named Bilbo,
His unexpected journey abound.
The light of Durin’s Day, a map and a key,
Would open the door of the home it used to be.
The dwarves of Erebor,
Dragon fire in the sky,
The war would soon end,
Thus the hobbit said goodbye.
Fifty years later,
The story goes on,
The Fellowship was formed,
Their friendships were strong.
Sauron was defeated,
The Fellowship almost failed,
And at the Grey Havens,
There came an end to Frodo’s tale.
The Boy Who Lived,
A wizard at heart,
Even the dark Lord Voldemort,

He had Ron and Hermione,

Katniss and Gale were the hunters at hand,
War broke out before so everyone ran,
And thus The Hunger Games began.

Both stood at the same time as the look faded and walked briskly to the entrance of the Great Hall, and that was when Ginny knew Harry was with them. She hadn't spoken to him since he shooed her from the Room of Requirement, hadn't stopped thinking about him since a funny feeling went through her while searching the grounds, hadn't stopped wanting to hold him since she saw him in Hagrid's arms. Suddenly, the tiny sound of feet padding along the wooden floors awakened Ginny from her thoughts. After a moment of silence, eight year old Lily's face poked through the door.
Lily was practically identical to her grandmother Lily Potter, in both looks and spirit. Flowing dark red hair, skin the color of milk, a tiny splash of freckles across her nose. In fact, if not for her chocolate brown eyes that resembled her mother's so closely, she would have been a clone of a younger Lily Potter.

We haven't talked for awhile and I'm beginning to miss you. I'm still patrolling Hogsmeade for the Ministry and it feels like some of the other Aurors are breathing down my neck almost every moment I see them. I know I shouldn't be complaining since I could be on a worse mission, but being in Hogsmeade all alone is driving me insane. I really hope that you'll be able to finish your mission soon. I know you don't want me to, but I really worry about you, especially during the full moon. I just keep thinking about what could happen if you get in a fight or someone loses all control.
I really should stop worrying. I would blame everything on dementors, but I haven't seen a single one in Hogsmeade. I'm guessing they all want to lie low for now. It's infuriating that the Ministry lost all control of them, but we barely can do anything about it...
Anyways, I'm currently nursing a butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks and it made me think of those nights last year when

"Aren't you worried about the Trace?" Hermione asked.
"My father bribed someone at the MInistry to remove mine years ago."
"Honestly, Draco, why do you know so much advanced magic?"
Draco had Hermione by the hand, and he was leading her through a narrow alley to the back of the church. "My father has had me tutored intensively for the past two years so I can be a good little soldier for the Dark Lord. It worked against him tonight, though. He was afraid to take me on. He knows I'm as good as he is, these days." They paused before the rectory door. "Ready?" he asked as he reached for the lion-headed door-knocker.
"No. But go ahead." Hermione didn't ask what was going on. She was pretty sure she knew.
After a few minutes of knocking, a sixtyish woman in a bathrobe and nightcap answered. When she was able to focus her sleepy eyes on them, she said, "And so it begins again. Come in." S

She couldn't take it anymore. She turned and briskly walked out of the parlor of Malfoy Manor and into the garden. She looked up at the starry sky, and the tears she had been holding back since the beginning of the meeting fell from her eyes.
Narcissa buried her face in her hands and began to sob. Her son. Her little boy was now a Death Eater who was assigned a task he had no hope of accomplishing. How could the Dark Lord be so cruel as to use their teenaged son to punish her and Lucius.

So that was the reason why she was eyeing him out of the corner of her eye, not because she liked him(cause she defiantly didn't) but it was odd for him to be up so early and especially without his gang. She had an unnerving feeling that it was something to do with her; she heaved a sigh before turning back to her book. The reason she was up so early was because her and Darcy where planning to get some work done before heading out to hogsmeade. She shook off the feeling that something was wrong and re-adjusted the straps of her dress.

Draco's wand flew from his grip. Lucius emerged from the shadows and seized his son's left hand. When he saw the ring, he slapped Draco across the face hard enough to rock his head back. I may not be able kill you now, but I can still hurt you quite badly."
Hermione lowered her right hand to her side.
Lucius said some words that made a strip of white cloth come out of his wand. He wrapped it around Draco's hand, hiding the ring. "Just say that you were hurt. Harry Potter AnalysisThe wonderful world of Harry Potter has touched countless lives upon its release. It contains many colorful elements from magic and fantasy to fighting bald snake people with little wooden sticks. Yet at the same time, despite touching so many countless lives, the ever-popular series has not been without its fair share of criticism, a large portion of which may not have been completely unfounded. Harry Potter has been said to promote more than a few more shady practices. Let us take, for example, the most prevalent example in the HP wizarding world. Wands. Harry Potter and friends often use their wands to solve problems and, more often than not, create quite a few of them. HP, Ron, and Draco are constantly seen "whipping them out" and "waving them around," despite the fact many teachers advise most of the Hogwarts students against doing so. This could function as a sort of subliminal nod to boyhood fasc

Ron came back with a pajama-clad, yawning Harry and a sealed vial. "All right, who are we going to test this on?" he asked eagerly.
Hermione took a deep breath. "It should be me." If there was something in her potion that would, say, cause one to sprout donkey ears within twenty-four hours, she should be the one to carry those consequences. After all, it was her own lying lips that led to this situation. She popped open both vials. The Veritaserum left no impression on her taste buds. The glittery liquid she and Draco had concocted tasted like pineapple.
Ron rubbed his hands together and grinned. "I'm going to ask the first question. Who were you with last night, Hermione?"
"Malfoy." Oh, dear. Whatever the glittery liquid was, it was not Obfuscerum.
Ron and Harry gave each other triumphant looks. "It works, it works, it works!" Ron did a little happy jig.

Still sobbing, Hermione shoved through a door and into the nearest bathroom. She'd had such high hopes for the evening.
First of all, there was the dress. The most perfect dress to have ever existed. When she'd spun around in front of the full-length mirror in her dorm room, admiring how the ombre-dyed layers fluttered, Ginny had asked her if she felt like a princess. "Of course not," Hermione had said, "Princesses were unfortunate, powerless pawns who were married off to men twice their age for their fathers' political gain. Why would I want to feel like one?" Ginny had just binked at her. "What I feel like... what I feel like..." Hermione'd touched her shining hair. "Beautiful."
Yes, she had felt beautiful. And she'd known she was going to spend
