Aboard the Normandy, it was night and all the lights and sounds in the almost empty ship seemed muffled. As EDI could pretty much handle everything alone, they needed only a few crew members at this time. Jane Shepard loved to go through her ship at this time. Every night she visited the departments and decks, enjoyed the quiet hum until she was exhausted so that her mind had to surrender to her body and she finally could sleep.
How do you sleep, when the survival of all depended on you? Shepard knew the answer. Rarely, restless and full of terrible nightmares. She waited as long as she could, often beyond the limits of exhaustion and then only because it was necessary, because otherwise it would jeo
Taking my Time A few days later, she found him at Apollo's Café, sitting at a table and looking as though he was trying desperately to keep his mind off their impending date he had asked her on. 'Probably fears the worst. All things considered, can't say I blame him ' she thought to herself, idly smoothing the black leather of her dress. She was grateful that Dr. Chakwas had held onto her old dress from when she aided Kasumi in recovering Keiji's graybox. 'That PVC dress in my closet that Traynor found ' she suppressed a shudder at how downright unflattering that dress looked. Traynor had good intentions in adding that to Samus' wardrobe, but this one was more stunning, to say the very least. She sauntered over to the empty spot at the table he was sitting at, her black lace pumps clicking with each step. She stopped just before the chair he was occupying.Taking my Time2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"Kaidan ?" she asked
At Last, a Reply... Kaidan found himself thankful that it was dark by the time he had reached his apartment. Granted, it was only midday, but the atmosphere had clouded over in anticipation for a storm, leaving little light that managed to break through the clouds. The lighting seemed appropriate, given his melancholy mood, he thought to himself as he made his way through his apartment. He hadn't bothered clicking on any of the lights when he came home- the natural light coming from the window didn't quite fill the apartment, but it was enough to see where he was going. His weary eyes scanned the space, lingering on his black couch for a moment, trying not to think of when Olivea had cuddled against him there, shortly after the Battle of the Citadel, before his gaze came to rest on his work desk, a soft sigh finally breaking past his lips.At Last, a Reply...3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

"It's just a cold Mary Margret." Emma said, her voice sounding odd courtesy of the stuffy nose. She tossed the tissue into the garbage and laid back down on the stacked pillows behind her head. Mary Margret stroked the hair back behind Emma's ear.
"But it's the first one you've had since the curse broke." She replied, sounding sad. Emma frowned. "So?" She coughed again, covering her mouth with the back of her hand. Mary Margret cocked her head. "It's the first time I've had to take care of you like this Ever in my life." Emma groaned again. "I don't need you to take care of me. I need to go to sleep." Mary Margret looked hurt so she replied. "Could

Little Syren Shepard opens her eyes sleepily, gently rubbing the sleep from them. She glances around her room, the pale orange light of the sunrise peaking through her curtains. She carefully hops off her bed, wrapping her blanket around her shoulders from the cold, and picks up her teddy bear, Athena. Syren shuffles over to the curtains and peeks around them, standing on tiptoe to see over the window sill. A small gasp escapes from her, followed by a quiet giggle. White, as far as the eye can see, the entire countryside covered in a thick blanket of snow. Realizing that it's Christmas morning, Syren quietly shuffles out of her bedroom, moving one door down on the right, "Aya? You awake?"
Her big sister is sitting in her bed, reading a holo-comic, clad in red sweatpants and sweatshirt. She looks up at Syren, "Well, good morning and merry christmas Sy."
"Mewwy Chwistmas Aya."
"Anyone else awake yet?"
"I dunno. But it snowed outside."

Kaycee drapes her arm over her daughter's shoulders. She can scarcely believe how quickly she's grown up. Just seems like yesterday that Ayrene was barely up to her knees, now a tall, slender, beautiful woman stands beside her. She gives her an affectionate squeeze, "So what do you think sweetie? I told you that I would take you dancing for your eighteenth birthday. This place good enough?"
Ayrene's eyes take in the flashing lights, the pounding music, the dancing patrons, and she smiles. "You really are the coolest dad ever. Mom would completely freak if she knew you brought me here."
Kaycee imagines the fury that would come down on her if her wife knew where they were. She shudders at the thought, "Don't remind me Aya. Now, shall we have some fun?"
She guides Ayrene over to the bar, raising a hand in greeting to the Turian bartender. "Raker! Long time no see!"
"Good to see you Shepard." He glances over at Ayrene. "Friend of y

I didn't want to go super overboard with details-if you're a Mass Effect fan you'll be able to imagine the extras and fill in the blanks.
EDIT: So, after getting back into Mass Effect 3, I realized that I'd made a little mistake with my ending here.
That is that 'war assets' are more important then 'galactic readiness' so, consider that as a part of what get's you a respective ending too.
After defeating the Phantoms on the Illusive Man's base:

"I tried, Shepard." The Illusive Man said, as he placed the barrel of his pistol to his head and pulled the trigger.
His limp body fell onto the floor, and Shepard watched as his cold, steel-blue eyes went dark.
" Shepard!...-an you me?" Admiral Hackett's voice filled her head.
"This is Shepard, what is it Admiral?" She said into her radio, her free hand putting pressure on her wound. This was all too surreal; almost three years ago she had the same conversation with Saren, the rogue Turian Spectre who has become indoctrinated by the Reaper Sovereign. She was able to convince Saren of his indoctrination, but like the Illusive Man, he was far too gone.

Miranda wasn't supposed to be here. She didn't have the proper security clearance, and she was well outside of C-Sec's designated "safe zone." The four civilian medical volunteers she brought up with her from Earth were back on the damaged arms of the Citadel, helping tend to the thousands of injured and dying. She had slipped away from them as quickly as she could, setting out toward the epicenter of the pulse of red energy that had sundered the Citadel and ended the war. All that remained of the Reapers were smoking carcasses, thanks to whatever Shepard had done. Somehow, the beautiful, pig-headed woman had accomplished the impossible, just as Miranda knew she would.
Nobody had heard from Shepard since the blast. Most were presuming her dead. Indeed, it didn't seem likely that anyone in proximity to that explosion could have survived. Still, Miranda wasn't ready to a

Commander Shepard did not just look half dead, she was almost dead. Worse yet, the badly needed ambulance hadn't arrived.
No matter how blood-smeared, dirty, scratched, wounded, or, in short, a horrible sight the Commander was, all that mattered to Samantha was to be right beside Shepard. The person she cared so much for and loved so deeply.
Even a hulking James Vega couldn't stop the young woman. Samantha just shoved him away and rushed to the fallen Commander.
In her trembling arms, Samantha cradled Shepard's burnt and bloody body. Her armor was half-destroyed and the underlying fabric was partly burnt into the skin. Skin that was so pale, like a corpse. "Must be the heavy blood loss," Vega had told her.
Amidst the stillness of the smoldering ruins of London around them, the low breathing of the Commander was all that could be heard. If she hadn't moved her head towards Samantha to lock green eyes on to tear-stained brown ones, Samantha woul

Samantha crossed her arms and glared back. She had known this was going to be a long process, but Sam couldn't have guessed how stubborn the woman could be.
"You have nothing to be insecure about. It's a perfectly normal reaction after what you've been through. Just—just reach out… and touch it." Sam made a wiggling motion with her fingertips for emphasis.
"We're not going anywhere until you get over your damn hang-ups. Make a bloody effort."
"I'm about five seconds away from pulling rank on you, Traynor. Or putting you in a headlock."
"Oooh, kinky," Sam purred insincerely before switching to earnestness. "Look, I'm just trying to help. This is something near and dear to my heart."
"Oh, well if it's near and dear… Hell no." Cheeky sarcasm flashed in dark eyes.

The turian's eyes narrowed, but the Commander had enough patience to wait out his apprehension. "What do you mean, snow?" And he took the bait. Shepard's smile broadened and she felt her fingers twitch with the adrenaline, "I mean the weather- 'snow'. Is there any other kind of snow?" Snorting her own skepticism, she waved any possible answer away as if Garrus could consider one.
"I understand what the term snow refers to, but I'm more confused by your intentions with it," he responded with mild concern. Ducking his head further into his armor, Garrus unconsciously backed up a step, but Shepard had him in her sights. Uncomfortable, the turian's shifting glances focused on the stars passing out beyond the safety of the ship.

So, this is an unusual departure for me. I am on my third run of ME3 and I was staring at my FemShep who is romancing Garrus and I finally figured something out about her. I don't know why I figured this out about her but I did at like 9 morning it wasn't intentional but I just looked at her, the way I played the game, and I came up with why she acts this way in my head. I'm not trying to be ground breaking or a revolutionary with this. Hell I'm probably taking a great risk posting this the way it is. And this is why Bioware is so awesome because they gave us something that could inspire this, though the thought on closure is rather uh...yeah. This is my MAIN FemShep and I have 4 more FemSheps and six MSheps. Each one unique and varied but for her I just realized this is why she fights, is a kind soul, and does what she does the way she does it and I just wanted to
Pride Comes Before the Fall“As a Thalmor Commander, it is your duty to set an example for your troops in a time of need,” The Grand Justiciar had told his student as the two made their way into a lavish temple, “Despite what you may believe, this principle surpasses all other aspects of your position.”Pride Comes Before the Fall10 months ago in General Fiction More Like This

The taller elf extended a hand, gesturing for the younger man to follow him down the corridor. Their footsteps echoed on the marble floor, and their forms cast shadows upon the sun-kissed stone. Attendants of the temple stepped out of their path as they passed, respectfully bowing their heads. As they approached

Jane Shepard winced at the menace in Garrus' voice. She stood in the middle of the wards on the Citadel, in front of a turian who Garrus had every reason to hate. She was in her full gear, weapons and all, but the man in front of her was in civilian clothes, completely unarmed, just like most of the people in the wards. Usually she felt fine as she walked through the Citadel; hell, even on the Presidium she didn't feel out of place.
But today was different. When Garrus asked her to help him kill Sidonis, she agreed because it would help him close the door on a section of his life that tormented him every day. She knew how Garrus felt because she had done the same thing with the things of her past. After Akuze, Shepard was haunted by all the things she could have done differently. She found ways to close those doors, and now she thought that

The ultimate weapon of destruction, the Crucible, is complete. It's something that was never completed in any previous cycle , and the Reapers are with backs against the wall.
My interpretation of events is that the Harbinger alters Shepard's perception of reality trying to convince her to choose Synthesis, but she is actually there, inside the Crucible, and her actions do have concrete consequences. It's not just a dream. So we don't see how the crucible really looks like from within, nor we see the Harbinger's actual essence but we only see what he wants us to see. But Shep is awake and the things she does, she does for real, although moving in a reality she perceives in a transfigured way.
On Thessia Kai Leng steals the data from Shepard and gives them to TIM, who is later teleported inside the Crucible by the Harbinger.
There the Harbinger tries to convince him to choose 'Synthesis' but he fails since TIM chooses Control.
