The oath gives speed
Horses and riders tall
The sparkling shield
On bloody field
We answer Gondor's call!
Kisses to wives
The last goodbyes
Who returns, we don't know
This is the day
When we can't stay
The King calls, we follow
The sea of spears
The sun sheds tears
Eorlingas ride to war
To the red day
To glory, fame
In the ancestors' hall!

In a sleep dreamless and deep
The black night fell
Like evil spell,
But you will your strength keep
Darkness spread over the land
The Lamps that fell we cannot mend
With poisoned sting
Now Arda's Spring
Has ended, its time spent
Close your eyes and do not fear
To my heart you are most dear
When you wake
The night will break
Sky again will be clear
Rest under the wings of night
So you can wake in new light
A tree or weed
When land again is bright

Faring far and wide ,
His sword by side ;
Never resting elsewhere than the wild ,
Light footed and keen eyed.
His only friend was beast and bird ,
Tree and stone his only home ;
The blood of Numenor in him was all but gone.
Proud and grim ,
All in one ;
He answered to noone...
King ArthurKing Arthur6 years ago in Urban & Spoken Word More Like This
I once heard his name
It whispered over the ground
It was as of he was god
I was just a young girl
But little did I know
That this name
Would change everything I knew
Was he real?
Was he not?
I hope we shall never know
For knowing ruins myths, hopes and legends
He was the greatest man
And an even better warrior
He left the greatest story, one that evokes feeling
He won twelve battles
Then vanished into the mists
His horse, army, sword and world
Vanished as quickly as they came
He did what none will ever do again
He united the most unlikely people
They fought for land just beginning to shine
They stood against the darkest of armies
For a cause only a small band of knights understood
Sometimes when I walk alone in the mists
When all is quiet and only a horse can be herd
I swear I can see him, and feel them
Upon a hill far ahead
There is ghostly figure
A legendary man astride a great white stallion

The NoldorMighty are the Second Kindred,The Noldor8 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Strong and brave and fair;
Fierce they are and proud,
Tall and dark of hair;
Filled with passion and iron of will,
A two edged sword this can be.
Never do they turn aside from their propose,
From no enemy do they flee.
Ache their hands do to craft and create,
Beloved of the Smith are they.
Burn their minds do for knowledge,
But into folly they sometimes stray.
Lovers of hills and open lands,
The Watchtower their first home.
Many other glorious kingdoms did they build,
Seven High Kings they have known.

Be my prince, and I'll be your princess.
Be my lord, and I'll be your lady.
Be my knight, and I'll be your shield.
Be my jester, and I'll be your fool.
Be my castle, and I'll be your moat.
Be my court, and I'll be your servants.
Be my feast, and I'll be your plates.
Be my dragon, and I'll be your fire.
Be my crown, and I'll be your jewel.
Be mine, and I'll be yours.
Emperor of the WavesThe Prince of Pirates hides behind pallets,Emperor of the Waves5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
eavesdropping on the fantasy tales of smugglers,
The majestic sailboats,
swaying in the estuary
the feeble boy watches.
The waves of the tides
slap against the estuary and freckle him
for him it's the music of touching a far-away coast.
It's the taste of salt and algee
from the vapors of broken waves
that tickle his tongue,
It's the scent of seal skin,
whale fat, spices,
and, most of all, of Adventure, that call him.
The two coins,
grasped tightly in the fist of his small hands,
will make him, one day, Emperor of the Waves.

Kick off your boots and lay down your sword!
No weapons are needed,
Just boat loads of love!
For it's the Lord of the Rings that we fancy true,
And all we need is the fellowship of me and you.
To guide us through the two towers,
And all through the night,
To finally fight in that epic fight,
Through the return of the king,
I'll know you'll be at my side,
You'll be here to the end,
My good friend,
And to what can I repay you for you're loyalty?
But a seat on my throne,
Right next to me.

Do not assume (if I hold the door for you),
that I am making a statement
about your inabilities
to open the door for yourself.
If you hold it for me,
I'll say 'thankyou'.
Do not assume (if I pay for the meal),
that I am underestimating
your earning capacity
as a woman.
If you invite me out for a meal,
Do not assume (if I defend your rights),
that I am belittling
the attempts that you have made
to defend your rights yourself.
If you defend my rights,
I'll consider you human.
