FUTURA

Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Minibots

Transformation: Futuristic Car

Strength: 8
Intelligence: 9
Speed: 9
Endurance: 10
Rank: 6
Courage: 10
Firepower: 8

"There's a time and place for looking back, and while you're outrunning hailfire ain't it."

Profile: At an early age, Futura figured out that it pays for one to be able to handle themselves in the middle of a galactic civil war. Much of the only real family and neighborhood of friends she had in Iacon were obliterated in the twilight of the Second Great War. But still, knowing that the Decepticons were nothing but bad news, Futura kept her desire for retribution in check, using her developing talents as a spy and thief to the benefit of the Autobot cause. In time, she became an exceptional warrior, and even after the hostilities between the Autobots and the Decepticons were brought to a climax with the rebirth of Cybertron via the planet's Plasma Energy Chamber, Futura always kept herself ready should there be a re-emergence of trouble in her old neighborhood. Indeed, such was the case when Graft and Icebox incapacitated the valiant Autobot soldier and brought her back to Prometheus to suit his own dark designs. Reformatted, tortured, disassembled, rebuilt, reformatted again, Futura knew an agony unlike any she'd ever experienced. Yet she did not lose faith - that so many others shared this indignity in the locked cells of Prometheus' lair kept her sanity intact, and even before the senseless slaying of a brave female Minibot catapulted Jaw Crusher into battle against Prometheus, Futura was already engineering, planning, preparing for the escape. In the chaos that ensued, Futura took the initiative and quickly enabled many of the liberated Minibots with weapons and resources, drawing on her memory of all she had seen and suffered in the catacombs of Prometheus' inner sanctum, and helping to administer order in what could have been a mindless, misguided attempt to flee. Futura has come to appreciate the value of having a cool head when it comes to facing down the likes of Prometheus and his gang of butchers, and she is oft times the most audible voice of reason in Jaw Crusher's group. She's also one of the few Minibots in the bunch with a semi-level head on their shoulders that seems to exhibit any sort of sympathy for the more impulsive types like Isolde and Lowroad, knowing that it is in their nature to desire an abrupt and permanent resolution to the frustrations caused by witnessing acts of evil. Futura is quick to remind them that, for a time, she had once been as they are presently, believing that extermination was the only possible means of confronting the menace posed by all Decepticons. It has yet to be seen if Futura will succeed on this front, but that's what keeps Futura going even after suffering the most hideous personal tragedies as she has in Prometheus' clutches - knowing what could lie ahead for the Minibots if they can commit themselves as a team and put their brains before their brawn.

Abilities: Apart from her speed and maneuverability, Futura also has two hand-mounted photon laser emitters which she utilizes in robot mode and which can sizzle a Decepticon's circuits. Her speed is second only to Bandit in the ranks of Jaw Crusher's Minibot team and her agility is comparable to that of Drifter. She's also the most resourceful of the Minibots, able to take virtually any object around her - from a manhole cover to an uprooted tree - and turn it into a weapon that can ultimately be as damaging and prove as deadly as any firearm. Futura also has the skills of an expert gunner, and has been a vital component to the operation of the crew's starship, the Galatea, through dangerous galactic territory.

Weaknesses: For all her street-smarts, Futura's feelings can still be governed by her willingness to believe in the good in all life forms, even those who in all honesty would be only too happy to lure her into a trap under false pretenses. Once the illusion is shattered, her immediate reaction can often be disorganized and too jostled to be an effect deterrent. Her photon laser gauntlets can also hamper the circuitry in her hands and forearms for hours after maximum dispersal, negatively affecting her combat performance if needed in back-to-back battles.

------------------------------

My twelth TF G1 Minibot re-deco character, this time a gray feminine version of Wheelie. In this case, I attempted to reconcile the disparate looks of both the cartoon/comic version of Wheelie and the actual toy, including modifications to the head and hands. This is one of the reasons why I don't have quite as much affection anymore in drawing G1 characters as I do some of the later designs - as I've gotten older, the gulf between the look of the toys and that of their animated/published counterparts just became too disconcerting for my tastes, even if the cartoon/comic designs were really just simplified interpretations.

ISOLDE

Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Minibots
Function: Warrior
Transformation: Porsche 924 Turbo

Strength: 7
Intelligence: 7
Speed: 9
Endurance: 6
Rank: 6
Courage: 9
Firepower: 8
Skill: 7

"If I don't have your back, I'll probably have your head."

Profile: Isolde has always seen things in a very two-toned manner, even before she and her sister-in-arms Pepper were subjected to the sick experiments of the Decepticon Prometheus. She possesses little affinity for bureaucracy to solve conflicts, mostly because she has no confidence in it, and believes that the most effective means to dealing with those who make no secret of their intentions of conquest should be to see them smited immediately and directly. Still, despite Isolde's lack of respect for proper authority, there's something about Jaw Crusher that has resonated deeply enough to Isolde to compel her to join his quest to take down Prometheus. Perhaps it's the fact that his own tightened sense of right and wrong so closely echoes her own - and Isolde is far from hesitant when it comes to heading into the front lines. Her teammates have seen enough of her actions in battle to know that this eagerness to go out and fight the enemy close-up is not the product of feeling the need to prove anything to anyone; rather, it is the product of someone who has a deep hatred of evil and injustice. Isolde's not the kind to buckle down when it takes reprimands to do so, nor is she the kind to charge thoughtlessly into a battle that she has little chance of winning - but the more she's forced to take a new path in order to get a desired goal accomplished, the more dedicated and focused she becomes on breaking through any obstacles in that path to get the job done. This rather singular mentality has only been reinforced with the introduction of physical 'adjustments' made to her and Pepper against their will by Prometheus to see if their structures could withstand being beefed up with 'Shaker' technology akin to that utilized by the Decepticon communications specialists Rumble and Frenzy. Fortunately the two sisters were able to make their getaway with Jaw Crusher and his entourage of fleeing Minibots, and in Crusher's mission to dismantle Prometheus' mad dream of molding the entire galaxy to suit his fancy, Isolde has found the perfect conduit with which she can become accustomed to the use of her new abilities - by lashing out with them against the very being who'd imbued these powers to her in the first place.

Abilities: The upgrades to Isolde's internal machinery was patterned by Prometheus after his initial studies of the Decepticons' communications agent Rumble; therefore, in her robot mode Isolde possesses the ability to roll drum-like mechanisms in her body to generate intense low-frequency groundwaves through her feet. By Richter Scale measurements, the earthquakes Isolde can generate would probably be at 7.6 at maximum power. In car mode, Isolde's small size makes for greater velocity among Minibots, and her proficiency with a standard laser pistol makes her an apt practicioner in drawing enemy fire away from her teammates as well as providing cover fire for them.

Weaknesses: Although her physical strength has been increased as the result of Prometheus' modifications, Isolde still has limitations due to her small size. Moreover, her intense dispassion for those that would cause harm to physically-weaker beings can blind her to the consequences of her own actions in combat, particularly in instances where she deploys her earth-shaking capabilities - if unchecked, the damage caused by Isolde with her new abilities could cause more harm than the very opponent she's fighting.

------------------------------

Another new TF character I generated. Since I've incorporated Minibots into all this, you should probably expect to see several more 'repaints' of classic G1 Minibot designs - but my plan is to draw on all 12 of the original G1 Minibot molds (that includes Wheelie), so that should give this group some added visual diversity, apart from the occasional inclusion of mold redecos from the newer shows (Armada, Energon, etc.) which I primarily intend to be used as villains, thus giving the bad guys a bit of an added edge.

This is :iconbry-sinclair:'s Reboot of Star Trek Voyager featuring a mostly different crew, Here's an Exerpt from the original...

On another website, someone once posed a "what if" scenario, in that: What if Kathryn Janeway had been assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise-D as Captain Picard's Number One, instead of Will Riker.

I took this idea and went the other way: With Janeway in TNG, what might VOY have been like if Riker had been Captain? And so my Star Trek: Voyager ReBoot was born.

Things are of course very different in this alternate reality, but the U.S.S. Voyager is still assigned to hunt down a Maquis ship and then pulled into the Delta Quadrant, where they face a 70 year journey home. In my mind though, it will be a far tougher voyage on the crew and they won't resort to shooting up the entire quadrant as they try to get back home.

Anyways, here is the Micro Hero crew for my Voyager ReBoot universe (all those marked with a * are provisional ranks):

Commanding Officer - CAPT William Riker (Human, Male)
Voyager is his first command, at just 35. He has proven to be a brave soldier, shrewd diplomat and true explorer.

First Officer - LT CDR* Ro Laren (Bajoran, Female)
One-time Starfleet officer, she left to join the Maquis out of principle. Now back in uniform she will fight tooth and nail for her people.

Second/Chief Security/Tactical Officer - LT Tuvok (Vulcan, Male)
Cool, calm and logical, he was undercover with the Maquis when all contact was lost, and Voyager was sent to find him.

Chief Science Officer - LT Veronica Stadi (Betazoid, Female)
Warm, sensual and intelligent, she is a long-time friend of Captain Riker's, who he often turns to for advice.

Chief Flight Control Officer - LT JG* Sean Liam Hawk (Human, Male)
Once a promising young officer, he quit Starfleet and joined the Maquis after someone very dear to him was killed by Cardassians, but was caught by Starfleet after a few months.

Chief Engineering Officer - LT JG* B'Elanna Torres (Human/Klingon, Female)
A former Academy drop out and Maquis, her technical knowledge is unmatched, nor is her temper or sarcasm.

Ship's Counsellor - LT JG Ezri Tigan (Trill, Female)
A passenger returning to Trill to complete her training as an Initiate, she now finds herself looking after the mental health of the ship whilst also facing the prospect of being a mother.

Chief Operations Officer - ENS Sam Lavelle (Human, Male)
A rookie with potential and an eye for the ladies, he has a great respect for Riker though dislikes those who violated their oath to Starfleet.

Chief Medical Officer - The Doctor (Hologram, Male)
Designed as a short-term supplement to the medical staff, he is the only fully qualified doctor left onboard. But what he has in knowledge and skill, he lacks in manners and pleasantries.

Cook/Guide/Mission Specialist - Neelix (Talaxian, Male)
A charming scoundrel with a heart of gold and a dark past. He is a jack of all trades and has many contacts across many planets. [I hated the design and character of Neelix, so he has changed significantly]

Hydroponics Caretaker/Medic - Kes (Ocampan, Female)
A bright young woman, with a big heart and natural wonder about the universe. She joins the crew to see the stars and help the crew where she can. [She won't leave the ship, also her species now live until they are about 20]

Auxiliary Tactical Officer - Lt. Cmdr. Jonathan Francis Satchel Jr.
one of the 18 people assimilated from the core sample of the Enerprise During it's first run-in with the borg, he was later liberated in 2368 by an electrokinetic storm in the Nekrit Expanse, wanting desprately to be an officer again, when Lt. Commander Ro Laren crashed on the Unity Colony, he was surprised that a starfleet vessel was in the Delta quadrent and asked Captain Riker for permission to return to duty later on and was granted the Position of Auxiliary Tactical officer. [Johnny is My OC.]

Astrometrics Analyst - Seven of Nine (Human, Male)
Ensign Jensen Anders was assimilated onboard the Enterprise-D during their first run in with the Borg, then liberated almost ten years later and has a lot to re-learn about himself and humanity. [Seven's male simply because I wanted to make the character different]

As you can see I took some artisitic liberties with Seven's Implants because I believe that the "Jeri Ryan" Implants are too feminine, I've also based the EMH's Skin and Hair Color off of the Star Trek Online Ship USS Khitomer's EMH to make him seem more artificial.

HIGHROAD

Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Minibots
Function: Reconniter
Transformation: Land Rover Defender 4x4

Strength: 9
Intelligence: 7
Speed: 6
Endurance: 8
Rank: 6
Courage: 9
Firepower: 5
Skill: 7

"The path not traveled is where you'll find me."

Profile: Highroad lives for the road, for clambering up jagged mountain ranges, for trenching through the Arctic plains, for tumbling down the Egyptian dunes - and it's not necessarily because he enjoys the thrill of it all. Sure, Highroad always presents himself in public as a congenial type, easy-going, always willing to share a story - just don't expect it to be true. So uncomfortable has Highroad been with social graces that he's developed a mostly-unerring knack for making up life experiences and past relationships that he's never had. What's more, most beings he shares these accounts with believe him. If nothing else, Highroad is the smoothest huckster you've ever met; his 'anecdotes' are just vivid enough to have cognitive resonance, and just vague enough to infer that even someone as 'well-lived' as Highroad can't remember everything that's happened to him in the course of a lifetime. Maybe it's because outside of Prometheus' chamber of horrors, Highroad doesn't really have much memory of having any kind of life. So he makes stuff up. The other Minibots in Jaw Crusher's employ often joke that Highroad's autobiography would no doubt sell like Kremzeek Cola Classic, even if it were revealed to be nothing but fiction, just from the publicity of being exposed as a fake. Still, Jaw Crusher realized early on that having one with a talent for exaggeration like Highroad's could prove useful under the right circumstances, and since that time Crusher has assigned Highroad to various capacities which would involve lengthy discourse with certain subjects in order to elicit needed information from them. The purpose of this is not to get Highroad to be truthful - in fact, Highroad's penchant for untruth most often fascinates listeners so much that it can take them off their guard when they should be keeping their own mouths shut. But even Highroad has his limits when it comes to having his imagination dictated by someone else, so on many occasions a drive even through the harshest environments will help him cool off and collect his wits, knowing he'll need them when he has to face the fallout from those who've learned that his stories are at best inaccurate. Likewise, this adaptability to multiple types of terrain makes Highroad an ideal reconnaissance agent and infiltrator, and often the scent of disruptor fire being exchanged can be enough to revitalize Highroad, and above all remind him that at the end of the day, it's what he does accomplish even when lying through his teeth that counts the most.

Abilities: Highroad is among the strongest of Crusher's team, able to lift up to 250,000 lbs. thanks to the upgrades made to his body by Prometheus. In robot mode he could even topple a four-story office building with adequate effort. In vehicle mode he is adaptable to deep-sea ocean-floor travel, volcanic-eruption zones, the Arctic tundra, the Gobi desert, the Brazilian jungles - just about any type of semi-firm terrain that can be traversed. Highroad also possesses enhanced stamina, able to withstand more firepower than most other Minibots.

Weaknesses: So imaginative can Highroad be in conjuring up 'memories' that he risks tripping himself up when he can't recall specific elements later on if someone exposed to his previous account should bring it up, or fails to retell them correctly when others are asked to hear his tales, which could potentially jeopardize his credibility at inopportune moments. He also risks letting his mind relax too much when traveling alone in vehicle mode, lest a foe get the drop on him.

------------------------------

My sixth TF 'repaint' character. This one is, of course, based on G1 Brawn, but I re-worked the arms from the toy a little bit in order to make them look a little less goofy - that's one of the things I find really inconvenient about drawing G1 or G1-styled characters: the lack of consistency between the original Marvel designs and the toys upon which they were based. My subsequent re-decos will also reflect this re-design philosophy, so don't panic.

More photo collaborations with Benny Lee of Emanon Designs!

Retro Space Girl costume designed and made by me, also modeled by me

Photography and post-processing by Benny Lee :iconemanondesign:

Benny did such an amazing job with creating the outer space environment for this shoot. I am really blown away!

Costume construction notes: The idea of doing a space girl has been floating in my head for a while before I made this costume. I love old sci-fi movies ala The Day The Earth Stood Still and Barbarella. For my ode to retro futura, I drafted up a bodysuit and made it out silver PVC vinyl. It's fully lined in a comfortable stretch material, and I added pink trim all around the edges and keyhole. I also made my own trim by stretching spandex over batting - yay puffy retro futuristic trim!
The belt, arm warmers and leg warmers were the finishing touches. I lost my cute pink boots from the original shoot, or I would have used them over the flimsy leg warmers. I'm considering getting more vinyl and making boot covers. The wig was bought locally and I poofed up the back for a beehive look. The headset came from Target and I used a nerf gun which I painted pink and silver to match.

More photos and info on the costume can be found on my website: [link]

"You could be above the law, and I'll still be on top of you."

Profile: Nobody knows the strength of what floats above better than Nimbus. It was in the midst of an electrical storm over Altihex that Nimbus was shot down by Prometheus' lackey Dragonfly, and the shock of the storm's consequences continued to burn into him as irrepressibly as Prometheus' own laser-scalpel did. Nimbus vowed that if and when escape was possible, he would not only take advantage of that window of opportunity, but dedicate himself thereafter to knowing all there was to know of the forces of the heavens, and prepare himself physically and mentally to embrace those forces, to use them to his advantage, and ultimately to bend them back against Dragonfly as the demented Decepticon had to Nimbus. But even after he fled with Jaw Crusher and the other Minibot escapees from Prometheus' lair, Nimbus knew that mere vengeance would not be enough to gain an effective understanding of the mysteries of the skies. Ultimately what started out as the need for retribution evolved into a respect for the natural forces of the planet's stratosphere, and eventually the role it plays in the great circle of Cybertronian life. Nimbus has since found greater use for his meteorological talents, helping to protect those in harm's way and thus loosening Dragonfly's stranglehold on those beneath him. This is a responsibility Nimbus treats with utmost seriousness, even in circumstances where it would seem his advanced aerial acrobatics are meant to dazzle opponents - if they're bewildered by what they're seeing, then they're already as good as dead. Nimbus is not above using deception against those would prey on the powerless - he knows they would do the same if given half a chance, which would put him in their crosshairs instead. As the result of his enlightenment, Nimbus doesn't like to 'fight dirty', but he will if the circumstances and the enemy deem it necessary to do so, and when he does it's for keeps. And that's precisely the kind of soldier Jaw Crusher needs in the air, where the vast majority of the team has no foothold since most are bound to the ground below. Crusher is pretty liberal where Nimbus' performance record is concerned - Nimbus almost always gets the desired results, and that's led to a strong working friendship that extends into a command triad including the group's chief land warrior Pepper and marine agent Moray. This, perhaps, is the reason why after years of torture and shame, Nimbus no longer possesses the apprehension that he once shared with others who have been airborne - he knows there'll be someone there to catch him if he falls.

Abilities: In plane mode, Nimbus can clock in at 750 miles per hour at top cruising speed. With intermittent use, Nimbus can radically increase his power output to send him thundering at a devastating 4000 miles per hour. His aerial maneuverability is among the most masterful of any Transformer, and armed with long-range concussion bombs and thermal laser blasters, he can reduce even the fastest-moving ground target into ash from above. Nimbus can also utilize his weaponry in robot mode with expert sharpshooting skills, able to shoot down the fastest strafers before their own artillery can make a mark on him.

Weaknesses: Nimbus' aeronautical abilities often require great fuel consumption for their execution. His lack of experience in land warfare also hampers his performance in that capacity, despite his own sense of commitment to getting the job done from the ground as well as from the air.

------------------------------

My eighth TF 're-deco' character, a blue version of Powerglide. You'll notice this one has a more dynamic pose than the others; that's because I had originally done the line art for the robot mode for a project that I was never able to finish. The same can also be said of the line art I used for Prometheus, as well as the upcoming Overpass. I'm at a point now where I can't stand to see projects I started once unfinished.

Part one (TV) - [link]
Part two (anime) - [link]
Part three (cartoon) - [link]

Just as there are iconic heroes and superheroes in all forms of media and literature, there are also plenty of heroines and superheroines to enjoy and be inspired by as well. This is part of six pics showcasing my personal top picks for my favorite heroines, one each from TV, anime, cartoons, comics, games, and movies.

They may end up in distress from time to time, but these six always come out ahead in the end, no matter the odds stacked against them.

Number four is arguably the most well-known character in the list, Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman from her self-titled DC comic and Justice League. An Amazonian princess that also serves as her island's ambassador, Wonder Woman is one of the strongest and battle ready characters around. Nearly on par physically with Superman, there's little doubt when she enters a battle that the opposing side will lose. Powerful, diplomatic, a qualified leader both by blood and her natural talents, armed with armbands that can deflect attacks, carries an unbreakable lasso that forces anyone caught in it to tell the truth, and though she can fly on her own she has an invisible jet... little wonder (pun intended) why she's part of DC's "Big Three" alongside Superman and Batman.

Who she beat in comics: Lots, more than any other category.

A few of the lady X-Men, particularly Storm - if I allowed ties, she'd unquestionably have been included. Rogue, Phoenix (Jean Grey) and Psylocke were close too. Ms. Marvel and Scarlet Witch from the Avengers. On the DC side were Batgirl (original), Black Canary, and Huntress. Since this was a comics-version only list even if the characters appeared in other media (all have been in cartoons, for example), I stuck with only the comics portrayals. Otherwise Hawkgirl, Supergirl, and Vixen from the animated Justice League would count too.

And as a half-joking entry, Alice from the Dilbert comic strips - beware her Fist of Death!
