"And you have a good day yourself!" Jessie said cheerfully, handing the customer's shopping bag. The customer smiled brightly and skipped off, happy as could be. Why shouldn't she though? Only a few moments ago, she was a young, grouchy sort of guy in a foul mood. After a quick spray of the Costume in a Can, he had turned into a peppy and cheerful looking Loly Aivirrine (A far cry in personality from the original version to be sure).
It was 11:17 AM and things were certainly underway in at the neighborhood wide garage sale. After a big burst of people right away, things had settled down in the area, now at a nice and more manageable rate. Jessie *coughJDcough* and her partner, Rachel, were busy selling off their wares and dealing with the waves of customers that came through. At that last person left, there was no one left at their particular sale, allowing themselves to take a quick break.
"Phew!" Jessie said
Hypercon - HnekakalTestament walked through the crowded floor of the convention center of Paudraic’s Resort. Some people who recognized his stopped him to get an autograph or just to say hi, but there weren’t that many, since he was only a member of the Young Guardians and the area he usually patrol was one that few people here came from. He was here to help his teammate and friend Hnekakal at the booth she set up to educate people about her ancestors, who were the first heroes of the city.Hypercon - Hnekakal9 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
When he got to where she was set up, she smirked and said, “’Bout time you got here, Easy E.” She was wearing her costume, which actually wasn’t more than a Guardians’ jacket and a domino mask around her eyes, which was for style and not really there to protect her identity.
Testament shook his head and replied with a smile, “Oh, hush. I’m here on time and you know it. So, how have things been going?”
Hnekakal shrugged and said, “As well as I expected.

Derrick Monroe was probably in his sixth decade of life, a superior court judge who had seen every atrocity known to man, yet the sparkle of intellect and kindness never left his cerulean eyes. The sight of his lined face and simple smile showed ever the clearer as the camera pulled away. Within seconds, he started to speak. “Fellow citizens of Angel Falls. By now the screen showed an elderly woman sitting beside the man, her hand on his, holding it gently in her own, while a younger man stood behind the pair, his navy blue uniform and golden badge dignifying him as a police officer for their fair city, his wife, and three children standing to the right of the older couple. Survival and understanding the world weren't alien things to her, since her first moments in that cramped pod she'd been fed information at an astonishing rate, everything from mathematics, to geographic knowledge to even classical literature to basic combat.
But despite having text book knowledge of the world, she still lacked....hands on experience. She watched as a couple walked by her position, unnoticed from her hiding spot huddled against an alleyway dumpster as they held hands and cooed and giggled.

Another day of pain and suffering would begin.

“Don’t worry about it,” Gordon reassured her. “I told them about you and sent some pictures so they already know. True me, it’ll be OK.”
She considered it and then leaned over and gave him a kiss. “OK then.” The two of them got out of car and started walking to the house. Gordon was wearing a long sleeved plaid shirt and a pair of jeans while Poly was wearing a nice dress that had been tailored for her extra set of arms. She had also brought a light jacket to hide them if need be.

Blowfish Poison Kiss: “Death that is the excess of life.” The user kisses the victim, usually on the lips, and places a spell on them in the process. A human’s life energy, or ki, is regulated through specific points on the body, and this kiss causes those points to work at their maximum efficiency. As a result, the victim’s body produces a gross excess of life energy, expanding their body like a balloon and rendering them immobi

“Sometimes, I wonder if he just can’t help himself.” A sigh, and Connor raised a sympathetic eyebrow at the sound of his companion’s low-register “boy” voice.
Rhian pursed her lips as she firmly screwed in a peg on her violin, tuning for the fourth song of the evening. She had walked away briefly to take a small break and enjoy the first sips of her pint of ale; the other, she had put in front of Connor, who was sitting at a table near her corner. The man in question had not so much as touched the drink. Rhian could not honestly say she was surprised. Of course, when she came back, she found that the A string peg on her violin had slipped, sending the string in question skewing wildly out of tune. Hence, why she was re-tuning.
“The man’s a pig,” she continued,

Chapter 6. The Epidemic Spreads
The epidemic along the New England states was eventually
recorded in Washington, D.C., sometime later. The Bureau of Health, Education
and Welfare, in the United Nations headquarters, considered a rescue effort for
the region following a report of several thousand deaths due to the infection
and traffic accidents. However, some time would pass before the epidemic would
spread to Massachusetts.
On the eve of New Year, 2013, the epidemic was recorded by
the Massachusetts state government in Boston. The towns affected were namely
Salem and Arkham. In Salem, there was renewed speculation [rumors, actually]
that witches were cursing the inhabitants. However, when the police interviewed
most teen aged and middle aged women, the interviewees denied staunchly that they
had joined covens. They were as anxious about the epidemic as the authorities.
In Arkham, most townspeople were adamant that the Old Ones
were behind the plague. Speculation [rumo

When she and Shatter finally chased him down he sent some monsters after them and the pair was separated. To make matters worse, he appeared to have the same powers and be better with them.
Monarch had dodged and weaved her way through the swarm and finally met the culprit only to find

After last night, the sleep really helped.
He dreamt again of the Galleon; Marvelous stuffing himself while the others did their own personal things. Weirdly enough, though...The Akibarangers were there, too. Their details were kinda hazy, though. Oh, well. It was just a dream. No point in dwelling on it.
He was too hard on them. The Blue one knew the situation, but he remembers Nobuo's face just before he and the cat-woman ran off.
He'd apologize, first-thing. He told Mitsuki to tell them, but still...It would mean more coming from him.
The sidewalks were more typical of Japan; but there was an odd sense of hostility.

After the cashier fiasco, the Gokaigers had moved the fuel onto the Galleon, but there was no rejoicing. Luka's past was (seemingly) now back to haunt her and the enemy that the Gokaigers had thought dead was crawling back from the grave like a zombie.

Marvelous looks up from his 'feast,' with food still in his mouth. "Stay on course." He says, with Ahim obviously not appreciating the low quality of his manners. Though it WAS justified.

The first of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes forays was a welcome revelation. From the trailers it appeared to an action heavy brain dead film for people who had no idea what Sherlock Homes was, perhaps written by those who didn't either. There was none of the subtlety, none of the charm, and none of the cerebral investigations that permeate the works of Arthur Conan Doyle.
But this all turned out to be the fault of a poor trailer, not a poor film. Ironically the previews highlighted all the not-so-good scenes leaving out the truly clever and entertaining ones for the most part. In the actual movie there's a great camaraderie and rivalry between Watson and Holmes that really makes each step of the production enjoyable. The villain too is almost as brilliant as Holmes in his schemes making him a formidable opponent.
Then there was the shadowy menace of Professor James Moriarty, intriguingly only shown in the shadow

Zach Synder is rapidly gaining a reputation as a visionary director even since his powerful debut with Dawn of the Dead. He reinvigorated comic movies with the success of 300 and confirmed his credit as a comic movie director with the highly faithful Watchmen. His reputation revolves around his devotion to classic geek culture, the archetypes of science fiction and fantasy brought to vivid larger the life reality by the latest computer generated effects. He's also infamous for having scantily clad and promiscuous female characters in compromising situations, overblown combat set pieces, and incredible amounts of slow motion photography.
All of these things blend into his latest production: SuckerPunch.
