We're sponsoring Artists' Alley 2012!
We're headed to Comic-Con International:
San Diego to sponsor Artists' Alley!
We Love Artists' Alley
We're back at Comic-Con!
Last year, our sponsorship of Artists' Alley was a huge success. We were able to provide a more comfortable environment for the artists, display their art on huge screens over the Alley, and let people attending the convention draw with deviantART muro on fantastic digital screens. We plan to do this and more in 2012 as we take on the great pleasure of sponsoring Artists' Alley at San Diego Comic-C

Commissions are SUPER CLOSED.
IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!!!!
PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER! I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DON'T!
HOW I CHOOSE COMMISSIONS
- Is this a fun, interesting, or exciting commission?
- Is this going to take a long time (not that that's a bad thing!)? A short time? Where does this fit my schedule?
- How long is the current queue?
- Do I desperately need money to pay bills this month?
- Does this client seem reliable, informed, and responsible?
- Do I just love this character or idea? I mean come on! I'm shallow! I like to draw things I like! You know I love fanart of certain things.
Please understand that I sometimes get a huge flood of notes and stuff, and I simply can't get back to everyone, let alone ACCEPT every commission. It's beyond me!
1. I'm in no way obligated to accept every commission offer! I can, will, and do pick and choose c

I'm not sorry at all that I am in the pursuit of beauty in my work.
I'm not going to stop for anyone. I do what I do, because I enjoy it.
For years all I built was big space marines and ww2 soldiers, no one ever once told me back then I should 'diversify' and 'do something else' no one ever hassled me either it's just pretty much accepted. Pretty girls though?
Well you know what, I call BULLSHIT.
If you look at my work and all you see is a sex-doll, that's your business not mine.
I never intended any of my girls to be this way. None. If you ask me about any of them, instead of taking them at face value like so many people do, you would discover that they all have intricate back stories, and all mean a great deal to me personally due to what was going on at the time in life etc.

THE NEXT THREE YEARS OF MY LIFE
I had received a job offer at Microsoft. I guess this could have been one of my first 'big time' jobs, so I was a little ecstatic. It felt like a slow build to get to this point, after numerous indie games and under the table freelance jobs, but finally it had come.
I was working with my now best friend and business partner, Stephan, a suave German who I had met only a year or so prior. He had brought me into the fray, working with several other individuals who will, well, simply be known as individuals for privacy sake.
But yes, finally, I could put a professional company I
TO YOU ASPIRING ARTISTS...FROM JOE MADUREIRAHere's some of the most amazing and invaluable advice you'll most-likely ever get from one of my good colleagues and legends in comics/gaming, creator JOE MADUREIRA. It's what i've been preaching to you aspiring artists since i arrived on DA, but i think his POV says it perfectly:TO YOU ASPIRING ARTISTS...FROM JOE MADUREIRA2 years ago in Personal More Like This

"DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ARTIST?
Or a successful WORKING PROFESSIONAL?
Believe it or not there is a difference. I'm not usually a soapbox type guy, I don't like instructing people, and I think I'm a terrible teacher. But hey, it's Friday and I'm in a strange mood. So here goes:
I've noticed that a good number of my fans happen to be aspiring artists themselves. This is for all you guys. I get asked constantly: "Where should I go to school?" "What classes should I take?" "What should I study for anatomy?" "What pencils and paper do you use?" "Should I be working digitally now instead of traditionally?" "How do I fix my poses? Learn composition? Perspective?" "When

First let it be clear
We at AlphaAnime think there is nothing wrong with being different or seen as being different.
NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING DIFFERENT, DIFFERENT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
So let me ask each of you a few question
1)What is wrong with being different??
2)Why do some people say we are different we are special but when someone else calls them different or special it makes them mad??
3) If you really know who you are why are you so worried about what labels you have or don't have???
4)Why are you the only one aloud to have an opinion and why is a different opinion wrong just because it is not yours?? And no Muffy you don't know all and your opinion is not always the only one. LOL
5)WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG????? Sorry had to do it, for those of you who don't get it look it up.
We love each and everyone of our different friends because we ourselves our different
Going to Make a Comic Book Series...Good Afternoon, AllGoing to Make a Comic Book Series...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
This is ArtistaDeAlma22. After looking in my portfolio and checking out all the personal drawings and projects I did from 2006-now, I found one of my older comic book projects from college.
I named it "Eternal Vendetta" because of all of the issues on Earth that were conjured by corrupted leaders who used the Elemental Gods' powers to create an empire solely dedicated to the rich, the tyrants, and the nihilistic blue-bloods. In retaliation, the impoverished people, the Seven Sages, and the Guardian of Life chose warriors who were powerful in strength, mind, and spirit. These chosen warriors were given the task to destroy the empire and kill the leader behind the world's issues. However, there is a catch... The Guardian of Creation has made a decision to eradicate all living beings if the chosen warriors fail to complete their tasks in the allotted time. This is not the first time such a crisis has occurred in the history of mankind. There is a twist... The warriors

Change is not something that we take lightly, because it affects our collective identity. It was important for us to define who we are and what we’re made of at our core before we changed anything. We all have our own understanding of what that means, but the process of getting that core story down on paper took almost a year.
The result is “Bleed and Breed Art.” This is our center of gravity and our reason for getting out of bed in the morning.
It is the guide and the justification for everything, including our business partnerships, the development of the new app and the design of our new ide

the short version,
Korrasami is Confirmed!
from Michael Dantedimartino:
Now that Korra and Asami’s final moment is out in the world, it seems like an appropriate time to express how I feel about it. I didn’t want to say anything right away so the audience could experience the finale for themselves.
The main themes of the Avatar universe have always revolved around equality, justice, acceptance, tolerance, and balancing differing worldviews. In subtle and maybe not so subtle ways, Avatar and Legend of Korra have dealt with difficult subjects such as genocide, child abuse, deaths of loved ones, and post traumatic stress. I took it as a complement when Joanna Robinson of Vanity Fair called the show subversive. There were times even I was surprised we were able to delve into the really tough stuff on a children’s TV network. While the episode
