Death of an empireOn the edge of the universe..Death of an empire2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I watch the life of the oldest sun die...
A black hole engulfing her slowly...
I feel for her....to die alone.....
I wish I could ease her strain....
Shooting stars fly past in groups of two...
Like guardians of the black sea...
They tell their queen her final goodbyes...
Her children surrounding her begin to shake....
Their empire slowly changes....
Its dead silent...yet there cries are all I can hear....
A tear runs down my cheek and turns to ice...
The final flashes of light slowly start to dim..
And rogue planets are all that remain....
Orphans with no mother...doomed to travel the same path until they to perish...
Blue eyes. She saw him, he was so beautiful, so care free,.Blue eyes.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
She was so tempted, to know him, touch him, feel him...
But she was afraid.. her worries fresh in her mind.. like knives her fears stabbed at her vigorously.
Yet she couldn't look away from him..
His eyes met hers and all at once they both froze ,locked on each others position.
She could feel her face flush, almost instantaneously she broke her stare.
When she lifted her eyes once more to his position, she noticed he hadn't moved a inch,
his eyes still locked on her.
He stepped towards her general direction, all at once she lets a small gasp slip through
her lips as she tries to keep her nerves under control with little success.
She nibbled her bottom lip, forcing herself to keep her eyes locked on his.
Those eyes, pools of ocean blue twisting around her heartstrings.
He was no more then a foot from her, his scent filled her lungs,
she leaned against the table, her head swimming with thoughts she so desperately wanted
to show him. His ey

Each one a small life..a soul unseen..
Are we like them?..do we too wait for the sun, that may never come?...
We are but small pieces of this huge puzzle..
I run bare foot, taking in all that is around me...
The smells, the sounds.. I want to become like they are..
Beauty in peace.. Life untouched by the black hearts that we hold....

Requested Review - Treasure PlanetDisney's 'Treasure Planet' (2002)Requested Review - Treasure Planet2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So this is my first requested review! (Yay!) I have a few of these planned based on the asks I get on tumblr (ovah here http://animakitten.tumblr.com/). Before I start this review, I need to start with the 'This is my opinion, you can agree with it or not' speech. Like I mentioned in the past, not every film is liked or disliked by everyone and everyone has the right to say what hey like or dislike about it. Of course it's better not to be an asshole about it and try to give coherent arguments when it comes to analyzing a film, that's why I usually research before reviewing a film I like or dislike.
For example, I usually disagree with Roger Ebert but I like reading his input because he does know a lot about film making and states his opinions with well written arguments, therefore I respect him. Which is funny because I disagree with him 90% of the time.
Alrighty, onto the review. So let's start with a bit of history.
DeviantART Compliments #3fluf-studios. A deviant who never ceases to amaze me with how helpful she is to other people. She's too friendly for her own good, she's a hardworker, completely selfless, and she deserves some love, at least that's what I think!DeviantART Compliments #38 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I want to compliment the artist SuicideBySafetyPin. She is a Master at creating fractal images.....precision....perfection.....and beautiful. She also willingly shares her experience with others by sharing her parameters for creating the fractals as well as written encouragement to the struggling artist.....
This compliment isn't meant for anyone in particular, but for those artists who are doing what they love... Keep up the great work~! ^-^
And for those beginning artists... You're all great artists and keep doing what you like, even if you think you're art isn't all that great, just keep going and improving~!!!
Lolita-Blood is a great friend, with a really cute art style!

Gigantic Stock FeatureI am a stock hoarder. I seriously fave more stock than I make stock. Part of the reason for this is that I taught art classes this summer and I didn't have a large variety of reference images for kids to draw. Plus I draw so I like have oodles of references. This feature is basically a lot of stuff that's in my favorites Please enjoy the stock! Some of it has less than 20 faves! We have now enabled artists and copyright holders to file DMCA takedown requests through an easy to use form. The DMCA is a formal notice and takedown system for copyright owners. It is not an arbitrary set of rules created by deviantART; it is a legal process which is respected the world o

Cards on the tableI sometimes feel like a bit of a moral coward, like a great many I know who are straight and white and male - the least persecuted combination on the planet! - but who are also very open-minded. I worry about saying what I truly think and believe - particularly online - for fear of getting into an argument with less tolerant, more puritanical people than I, or people that have faith in the unknowable (which is something I took a good stab at for a decade or so, but ultimately found misleading, hollow, insubstantial and unsubstantiated.) I hate conflict, and the internet often gives people bigger bollocks than they might have face to face. It gets pretty nasty, I've noticed, with very little tolerance and almost no give and take.Cards on the table7 months ago in Personal More Like This
Sometimes, though, I feel a need to put my cards on the table. If I am to call myself an artist I should be clear about what defines me, who I am, and how I perceive everything around me. It is what drives me after all! So with that said...
What the hell

No offense my friends if you see one of your images here. I find them all beautifully laid out and colored, and done by talented artists, but I just wanted to speak my mind once again about tweaking and param sharing killing originality. Please try to unchain your creativity by making new stuff!
And of course, this is not about Apo, I could have listed M3D images the same way...

In the beginning.. it looked kinda like I was in an quiet old city... with knights and stuff (my english fails right now.. -yawn- I just woke up) and I was clothed like them (I guess.. I didn't see myself.. I dream mostly in self perspective o.o). Middleageish. Anyways I was walking arround and... how the city was built.. and... the open doors everywhere.. it looked like a computergame... So I decidet to check out the open doors. firts it was all fine! Then... well it was still fine it was even bettet though.. Sonic came , but... well.. he was fighting some odd lizard... (dn't ask, you'll find out later) I wondered why this little creature was so dangerous and I walked pass him and got myself tonns of ice-cream *Q* chocolate with cookiepieces =w= mhhh.... oh right.. anyways as Sonic was finished with this lizard, he walked up to me and... My visit at the Fractal Exhibition in KarlstadThe 2012.09.19 I took the train to Karlstad, situated at the north side of the biggest lake in Sweden, Vänern. That was my very first visit in that town. My goal was to visit a famous fractal exhibition that was there at the museum of Värmland, a landscape north of Vänern in Sweden. The exhibition lasted from 2012.05.19 to 2012.10.02 and had the title BEYOND THE INFINITY 3D FRACTALS a new form of art is taking place. My visit at the Fractal Exhibition in Karlstad1 year ago in Personal More Like This
The travel was very awesome, I love to go by train. At the evening I had a dinner at a nice restaurant. The following day I left my hotel and went away to the exhibition in the sunshine. The weather during the travel was very shifting with some heavy showers of rain. However Karlstad is know for being the town where the sun always are shining, and so it was during my visit
The exhibition was well worth a visit. On the path outside the room where the 19 frames were exhibited,

About Artists on Writers
Writers will always find inspiration in the visions of artists, always feeling compelled to tell the stories behind the moments captured in artists’ unforgettable images,
Artists will always find inspiration in the words of writers, always feeling compelled to lend visual reality and habitat to the characters described in the scribe’s haunting words.
If the severely acne-scarred face and coarse exterior brought on by his alcoholic and depressed life was the book cover of his being, then Charles was the ultimate book that could not be judged by its cover. The exquisite collection that was this everyman artist’s art consisted of thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories and six novels—mostly all wrenchingly autobiographical, mos

Disney Re-Released TP OST, Now With More Scores!Seeing as I have been doing decidedly well in my pre-2014 university studies over the past two days and am not feeling so bad about my end-of-year results as I was before, I am feeling the need to post over that last depressing journal of mine. I have just the topic to do that with, too. You may all already know, but I just find this so marvellous that I dare not contain it!Disney Re-Released TP OST, Now With More Scores!3 months ago in Personal More Like This
So, apparently Walt Disney Studios re-released the Treasure Planet original soundtrack earlier this year (I say "apparently" but, in actual fact, they did re-release the soundtrack of the film even if I can't find a copy of it for sale anywhere on the net). However, unlike the original OST, this two-disc special (Two whole discs!) has EVERY FREAKIN' TRACK IN THE FILM! ALL. JAMES NEWTON-HOWARD'S. THIRTY-NINE. FREAKIN' SCORES!!! These include the scores from the 'Arrow Warns Scroop' scene, the 'Long Boat' scene, and - my not-so-surprisi

The Artist's Toolbox - Working with ReferencesThe Artist's Toolbox - Working with ReferencesThe Artist's Toolbox - Working with References1 month ago in Art Features More Like This
I can draw anything... as long as I get to look at it.
There is a great myth that drawing is a memory exercise. That if you can draw entirely from memory it makes you a better artist who deserves more kudos.
Of course the study of drawing will lead to a good memory of the things you've already studied how to draw, humans, animals, whatever it is that you love to draw. But the downfall of this is that you can restrict yourself to only drawing what it is you have studied how to draw, ie what you've memorised.
Using reference is not a weakness! It is a strength and almost all top level artists use a lot of reference. Using reference means you're not trapped one person's life experiences and can draw upon a wealth of extra knowledge. How can that be a weakness?
A lot of people seem to assume that the reference should come first. They go out and they scour the dA stock etc to find th
