Death of an empireOn the edge of the universe..Death of an empire3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I watch the life of the oldest sun die...
A black hole engulfing her slowly...
I feel for her....to die alone.....
I wish I could ease her strain....
Shooting stars fly past in groups of two...
Like guardians of the black sea...
They tell their queen her final goodbyes...
Her children surrounding her begin to shake....
Their empire slowly changes....
Its dead silent...yet there cries are all I can hear....
A tear runs down my cheek and turns to ice...
The final flashes of light slowly start to dim..
And rogue planets are all that remain....
Orphans with no mother...doomed to travel the same path until they to perish...
Blue eyes. She saw him, he was so beautiful, so care free,.Blue eyes.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
She was so tempted, to know him, touch him, feel him...
But she was afraid.. her worries fresh in her mind.. like knives her fears stabbed at her vigorously.
Yet she couldn't look away from him..
His eyes met hers and all at once they both froze ,locked on each others position.
She could feel her face flush, almost instantaneously she broke her stare.
When she lifted her eyes once more to his position, she noticed he hadn't moved a inch,
his eyes still locked on her.
He stepped towards her general direction, all at once she lets a small gasp slip through
her lips as she tries to keep her nerves under control with little success.
She nibbled her bottom lip, forcing herself to keep her eyes locked on his.
Those eyes, pools of ocean blue twisting around her heartstrings.
He was no more then a foot from her, his scent filled her lungs,
she leaned against the table, her head swimming with thoughts she so desperately wanted
to show him. His ey

Each one a small life..a soul unseen..
Are we like them?..do we too wait for the sun, that may never come?...
We are but small pieces of this huge puzzle..
I run bare foot, taking in all that is around me...
The smells, the sounds.. I want to become like they are..
Beauty in peace.. Life untouched by the black hearts that we hold....

DeviantART Compliments #3PizzaPotatoNBacon. A deviant who never ceases to amaze me with how helpful she is to other people. She's too friendly for her own good, she's a hardworker, completely selfless, and she deserves some love, at least that's what I think!DeviantART Compliments #32 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I want to compliment the artist SuicideBySafetyPin. She is a Master at creating fractal images.....precision....perfection.....and beautiful. She also willingly shares her experience with others by sharing her parameters for creating the fractals as well as written encouragement to the struggling artist.....
This compliment isn't meant for anyone in particular, but for those artists who are doing what they love... Keep up the great work~! ^-^
And for those beginning artists... You're all great artists and keep doing what you like, even if you think you're art isn't all that great, just keep going and improving~!!!
Lolita-Blood is a great friend, with a really cute art style!

Improved DMCA Reporting System
DeviantART is dedicated to protecting our artists, and in an effort to be able to more quickly handle complaints by deviants who have had their rights infringed on, we have changed the way we receive complaints from the artist or the copyright holder.
We have now enabled artists and copyright holders to file DMCA takedown requests through an easy to use form. The DMCA is a formal notice and takedown system for copyright owners. It is not an arbitrary set of rules created by deviantART; it is a legal process which is respected the world o

Believe In YourselfJust some friendly artistic advice from someone who has been drawing for nearly four decades...Believe In Yourself2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Believe it yourself. When you sit down to draw, believe that the outcome will be successful. Failure at drawing comes from not trying hard enough, not working hard enough, and not believing that you can get the job done. Success comes from working hard, learning from past mistakes, and believing that you can and will rises to the occasion. If you are confident that you will do well each time you sit down to draw, you will do better work than the time before. You might not always get things right, or be satisfied with your outcomes, but you will be moving forward as an artist. Repetition. It's not the only way to improve, but it's the only GUARANTEED way to do it. The more you draw, the better you'll get at it. The more you ink, the better you get at it. The more you color, the better you get at it. Never fear your drawing table (Wacom, etc). You aren't going to be dismantling nuc
The Watcher PokeballHello people,The Watcher Pokeball3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Hope your doing well and hope your enjoying my latest deviation the England pokeball.
This journal entry is for the watcher pokeball, now originally i said I would probably put all 10,000 avatars into a pokeball image but I started a little practice on it today and I think it will be pretty impossible but that's ok I have an idea.
Although I love all of you and wish I can make all of you something special I think the smartest idea right now will be to hold a little "contest" right here in the comments section. The top 100 responses will be featured.
Nothing too hard, just tell me what it will mean to you to have your avatar featured in a wazzy88 pokeball. Try to keep it to a few sentences so I don't get too overwhelmed lol
Also, feel free to give me tips and hints on how the pokeball should be structured or just how it should look overall, maybe it should be a manip? Maybe it can be a text based imagery forming a pokeball, or something along these lines.

Most denizens of the West think of New Zealand as a little known outpost of civilization somewhere beyond Australia at the ends of the Earth.
Could any land be any farther from the European motherland, birthplace of the Renaissance that is the Genesis-point of the visual arts narrative we continue expanding and evolving today? And yet this remote country of islands in the Pacific has suddenly become a cinematic storytelling powerhouse, a film-friendly factory for the creation of some of the most important touchstone mass entertainment experiences to influence our popular culture in recent years.
DA's Commission System and Minimum WageDA has recently announced a new portal for users to search through those offering commissions to find artists they want to support.DA's Commission System and Minimum Wage2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
The commissions system will be handled using DA's internal currency system of points, of which DA takes a royalty from.
Commissions are allowed to start at 10 points each for any type of art produced, from rough sketches and small icons to full digital works. Commissions is a great way for artists to offer their services, but are we creating a low-wage market where over-abundance of supply and lack of unification undercuts everyone?
That is to say, how can we guarantee that artists get paid fairly for their work?
10 points is roughly 13 cents. 1000 points may seem like a large commission, but it's really only $10.
Right now DA takes a 20
A simple guide on: Commissioning an Artist. It's often not as simple as one wants it to be when both artist and client want it to be: Cost efficient, time efficient and quality efficient.A simple guide on: Commissioning an Artist.5 months ago in Personal More Like This
I've often spend my time discussing the best way to handle commissions with clients and artist friends that I came to the conclusion that clarity and understanding is key.
I will divide the guidelines I work with based on 3 commission types.
Book covers ( or illustrations)
Reading all 3 parts will give you the full scope as a lot of it applies to one another as well.
1. Reference board.
If you as a client have very specific characteristic features all set and done for your character it can be very useful for the artist if you'd make them a reference board of art and photos that portray these things.
The artist does not wish for a life story of your cha
Cards on the tableI sometimes feel like a bit of a moral coward, like a great many I know who are straight and white and male - the least persecuted combination on the planet! - but who are also very open-minded. I worry about saying what I truly think and believe - particularly online - for fear of getting into an argument with less tolerant, more puritanical people than I, or people that have faith in the unknowable (which is something I took a good stab at for a decade or so, but ultimately found misleading, hollow, insubstantial and unsubstantiated.) I hate conflict, and the internet often gives people bigger bollocks than they might have face to face. It gets pretty nasty, I've noticed, with very little tolerance and almost no give and take.Cards on the table2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Sometimes, though, I feel a need to put my cards on the table. If I am to call myself an artist I should be clear about what defines me, who I am, and how I perceive everything around me. It is what drives me after all! So with that said...
What the hell

Issue No. 2|Archives
If the severely acne-scarred face and coarse exterior brought on by his alcoholic and depressed life was the book cover of his being, then Charles was the ultimate book that could not be judged by its cover.
The exquisite collection that was this everyman artist’s art consisted of thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories and six novels—mostly all wrenchingly autobiographical, mostly all about moments of epiphany and grace in an otherwise miserable and unhappy existence. The perfect explication of the common man's deepest truth; it's not easy to be here.
Unvarnished and brutal blunt force trauma underlined with hope, beauty, longing, and love.
Therein lies the power of his poet
My visit at the Fractal Exhibition in KarlstadThe 2012.09.19 I took the train to Karlstad, situated at the north side of the biggest lake in Sweden, Vänern. That was my very first visit in that town. My goal was to visit a famous fractal exhibition that was there at the museum of Värmland, a landscape north of Vänern in Sweden. The exhibition lasted from 2012.05.19 to 2012.10.02 and had the title BEYOND THE INFINITY 3D FRACTALS a new form of art is taking place. My visit at the Fractal Exhibition in Karlstad3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The travel was very awesome, I love to go by train. At the evening I had a dinner at a nice restaurant. The following day I left my hotel and went away to the exhibition in the sunshine. The weather during the travel was very shifting with some heavy showers of rain. However Karlstad is know for being the town where the sun always are shining, and so it was during my visit
The exhibition was well worth a visit. On the path outside the room where the 19 frames were exhibited,

Capturing the essence or the "sweet science" of prize fighting is a near impossible task for most artists. There’s more than the necessary knowledge of the anatomy of an athlete’s body in motion. There’s the underlying unknown life narrative of each pugilist: Was it a special talent and toughness or poverty and desperation that led to being in a ring trying to beat another person into submission? A bad performance doesn’t just mean bad reviews or early retirement, but possible permanent physical disability. On many levels these are our greatest athletes.
Few artists have experienced boxing before trying to express its agony and its ec

deviantART has given me the opportunity to perform two Community Volunteer positions here:
I am the Science Fiction and Space Art Community Volunteer.
I am also now the new 3 Dimensional Art Community Volunteer.
One of the duties of these positions is that I can feature artwork from these categories as Daily Deviations.
I browse through these categories daily in search of deviations to feature as Daily Deviations.
This feature is to help the artist and their work gain more exposure, and it's genre and/or medium gains more community awareness as well.
But I need your help.
Have you seen a work of art here on deviantART which you have found so impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large?
Do you know an artist of whom deserves much more exposure?
Would you like to put a smile on someones face and make their
