Just a quick Myers sketch. Before I take on any "Halloween" project or illustration I always do a Myers head sketch before hand to get the feel of the mask. No matter how many times I have and still draw the dude.....THE MASK IS A BITCH to get exactly right!!!!!
Many mistakes I see done by myself and other artist that try to copy the mask EXACT mainly are the areas in his mouth. In the films, sometimes you see a hint of a sadistic smirk, most of the times it's a normal closed mouth and you don't. So you gotta make a wise decision and not make him look goofy either way.
To my eyes, in this particular sketch my problems were....
1.) His mouth is too wide. 2.) That right eye is way bigger than the left 3.) The mask is on soo tight that it almost just looks like a normal face.
The way I draw his hair is somewhat a trademark I try to keep whenever I draw him .... kinda messy but always flowing backwards. Otherwise (in my style that is) if it's too bushy he either looks like a vagabond or someone having a delayed reaction to shock treatment.
I absolutely LOVE the new Rob Zombie version of the mask with the worn out look so I draw that as much as I can. Because honestly after all the shit Myers goes through, you think his mask will stay white and clean after all that? But the stuff the writers and producers have in mind for his upcoming "ordeals" prevent me from adding those elements in.
So many trial and error sketches like this prep me for finals like these------> [link] so I can find the right elements that fit my style more without trailing too far off from what makes the mask and the overall Myers look unique.
Another great photo shot and edited by wonderful (Check out her photos, she's doing such a wonderful job!) Thank you so much for the wonderful day (Wie war das? Viel zu nette Softair-Spieler und verkaufsoffener Sonntag bei Möbel Erbe xD?)!!!
So at first I didn't really want to upload it because my face... It's really not the best expression to make on a photo but the setting and the editing is so wonderful - I couldn't not upload it. The setting was an old abandoned department store that had sold furniture in the past. It was perfect. Almost everything was shattered into pieces. bricks, pavement, glass - it was perfect. And though it was really cold in November last year... it was worth everything!!!
Btw. have you ever wondered what my bullets were made of? Yes, they're tampons. Just sprayed them golden. Which was more fun than it should have been haha. The look in people's faces when I tell them is priceless. I also have a second ammunition belt and a second (and a third and a fourth and in fact quite a little collection of) SAA(s) but somehow I was never really satisfied with the way it looked (because excuse me I am only 167 cm tall... I looked too bulky with everything on me).
