(Shepard has been dealing with a baby Turian on the Normandy for a while. Garrus makes her think about why she's keeping him there.))
Commander Shepard was used to long days. As she rubbed the back of her neck on her way toward the elevator she reflected that people seemed to think she was invulnerable. When you were the savior of the galaxy several times over, people tended to forget that you needed little things like food and rest. It was as if they expected you to be able to live on heroism alone.
At least she finally had some time to herself. After chasing a group of slavers down, coming back to find the Alliance brass was waiting to speak to her over the comm, and arguing with them for another hour, she was able to end her shift. She was going to go back to her cabin, finally get a hot shower, then fall into bed.
However, when she finally reached the elevator, Traynor
ME: SurpriseShepard was not surprised to find Garrus away from the control console in the main battery when she walked in. It had been a bit of a shock at first, but she was glad he had figured out that he didn't need to be calibrating that damn gun all the time. The only downside was having to hunt all over the ship for him when she wanted his company, although he had taken a liking to the lounge area, making that her usual first stop when looking for him.ME: Surprise3 years ago in Romance More Like This
This time, however, she quickly realized that it wouldn't be needed. A glanced showed that he was over at the workbench that he been installed on the right wall. He'd half turned to see her come in and seemed frozen now.
"Shepard." He said by way of greeting. "Hey." Shepard felt her eyes narrow slightly. Although he was trying to keep his voice level, his mandibles were twitching nervously and he had turned slightly to the side to hide whatever he was working on. "Some

The ultimate weapon of destruction, the Crucible, is complete. It's something that was never completed in any previous cycle , and the Reapers are with backs against the wall.
My interpretation of events is that the Harbinger alters Shepard's perception of reality trying to convince her to choose Synthesis, but she is actually there, inside the Crucible, and her actions do have concrete consequences. It's not just a dream. So we don't see how the crucible really looks like from within, nor we see the Harbinger's actual essence but we only see what he wants us to see. But Shep is awake and the things she does, she does for real, although moving in a reality she perceives in a transfigured way.
On Thessia Kai Leng steals the data from Shepard and gives them to TIM, who is later teleported inside the Crucible by the Harbinger.
There the Harbinger tries to convince him to choose 'Synthesis' but he fails since TIM chooses Control.
But he's indoctrinated and he can't control nothing, i

On her first night together with Garrus, Shepard had been mildly concerned about the talons that she knew turians possessed. She trusted Garrus with all of her heart and knew that he never intentionally harm her, but there was that instinctual distrust of sharp claws near her softer human flesh. Of course she had been thinking of entirely different things by the time that evening reached the stage where his gloves came off, and then she didn't' have the luxury to think about minor details until after they had blow the Collector base to bits.
Being under house arrest had given her more than enough time to think, and Garrus was one of the happy memories she had she to stave on the crushing boredom. One of the questions those memories brought up was if turian anatomy charts and Alliance descriptions of turian talons as 'vicious natural weapons' were overly exaggerated or if Garrus had blunted his just for her.

Chapter 1 Hunt
"Someone should learn how to drive," Garrus Vakarian thought shaking his head while he investigated the damaged Mako in the cargo hold of the Normandy. He held a great deal of respect toward Commander Shepard, but her driving wasto put it mildlyreckless. Mako was designed to be used in extreme conditions, but at times he thought that Shepard was asking too much from the vehicle and it was his job to fix anything her driving broke. "Next time she comes around, I'll tell her to stop driving like mad, I sure will," Garrus thought.
"Hi there," Shepard's voice jarred him out from his thoughts. "How's she looking?"
Garrus started to turn to face herhe fully intended to speak his mind about the matterbut she was standing much closer than he had expected and for a reason he couldn't understand her hand, which was resting right next to his, gave him a pause. He had never really paid any attention to her hands be

"Hell, was the arguing s'posed to give it away?" He sounded skeptical.
The asari shook her head with a chuckle. "They're always bickering about something, big or small. Doesn't matter what it's about. I remember once they had a massive fight simply over who was going to drive the Mako, back when we were chasing Saren.
James grinned, amusement lighting his dark eyes. "Nah, you serious? Sounds like a story, I gotta hear this."

Shepard and Thane
The captain's quarters are far off from the engineering deck, but I can still hear the hum of the engines if I shut the music off and listen to the quiet. Most nights, it's enough to get me to sleep.
I'll lay back and watch the stars crawl by through the skylight, or watch the fish flit around in their tanks. Slowly, it becomes harder and harder to keep my eyes open. I'll roll over so the glow of the fish tank doesn't penetrate the darkness behind my closed eyes as I drift off to sleep.
The darkness is overwhelming. If I squint really, really hard I can just barely make out the pinpricks of distant stars. But it's so hard to keep my eyes open. I'm cold. Freezing cold, so cold I feel like my bones will implode and my skin will tear as it shrivels and tightens and I open my mouth to scream.
I can't. I open my mouth, try to

If you had asked Garrus Vakarian less than an hour ago, he would have said honestly that their families weren't something that he and Shepard had talked about much. Not that he had hadn't thought of his before, in the down shift hours when she was curled up in bed next to him and he had wondered how he was going to bring up the topic of an alien girlfriend to his father. That it was Commander Shepard might either make things worse or better depending on how his father chose to see things.
But Lil's own family? The mother had he had heard mentioned once or twice? That was something he hadn't thought of much, aside from being happy for Shepard when she had told him that her mother was all right. He had known in the back of his mind that he would have to meet her someday, the woman who had raised his Shepard. Really introduce himself to her, not l

After Effect Garrus sat high on a ledge watching the bustling commotion far below him, his sniper rifle cradled casually in his arm. Officially, he was supposed to be keeping an eye out for trouble, or at least that is what he had told Alenko before climbing up here, but the truth was that Garrus just needed to get away from everyone for a little while, some time to be alone with his thoughts. He had reluctantly allowed Tali'Zorah to drag him back to London and he did have to admit that, for a time at least, it had been good to be surrounded by friends and comrades, people genuinely happy to see him and speak to him. She would have never thought that such a menial task would result in her making very close contact with the floor. Hell, she could stay upright when 15 husks were trampling her. She supposed that the long trip back to the citadel from the wretched colony made her especially uncoordinated as well as the recent events that occurred there.
