While my Guitar Gently WeepsI'm sure many of you already know this but for those who don't, late August 23, Jerry Nelson [Floyd Pepper, Count Von Count, Gobo Fraggle and so on] passed away. Jerry was one of the greats, in my [and I'm sure many] opinion, he was the voice of the Muppets, whenever someone talks of a beautiful song, it's normally sung by him. Makes sense since he said once if it wasn't for Jim giving him a job, he would of become a Folk singer [by the way, his CD is really nice, a mix of silly and beauty.]
At first when I found out I was stunned, but after a little time, it's ok, Jerry has raised many of us to love music, to count, to adventure, and to laugh. Now, he has gone to the Rainbow Connection, he will be preforming once more with Richard Hunt. He will see old friends, and lost loved ones. Jerry lived a long life, leaving us plenty to remember, so this is why I feel, while tears are inevitable, that we should celebrate, as we did with Jim, and as we did with Richard, we should grab our instru
A Rant on Mikey's BehalfYou know, if Nick was actually trying to piss me off, they couldn’t possibly do a better job! I have been gritting my teeth as I watch the new show because it is very cute and entertaining, but I have a real problem with how they are portraying Michelangelo.A Rant on Mikey's Behalf3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Yes, his character is energetic and youthful. Yes, he does tend to take things a little less seriously than his brothers. Yes, he is a prankster, a live wire, and a wise guy.
No, he is NOT stupid!
Do you hear me Nickelodeon? Michelangelo is not stupid. If you want to make me happy again, stop running those asinine commercials comparing Patrick to Mikey on the brainless meter.
The character of Michelangelo was not created to be stupid. He is not part of a tough ninja team who has had to survive their entire lives on their wits and talents just to be your path to a cheap laugh.
There will now be an entire generation of kiddos who will think that Michelangelo is an idiot and that if it weren’t for his brothers he
R.I.P. Jerry Nelson 1934-2012As most of you know, The Muppets were a beloved part of my childhood. And I'm still proud to consider myself a fan of them to this day. Why did I bring that up may I ask? Well earlier today, I discovered that long time veteran Jerry Nelson has past away due to Emphysema. And I have to say, I was pretty heartbroken.R.I.P. In case you don't know, Jerry has been known to be the puppeteer for characters like Robin the Frog, Floyd Pepper, Lew Zealand, Camilla the Chicken, Pops, Dr. Julius Strangepork, and of course, the Count. I actually consider his voice to be very iconic. Like the other veterans, you can tell who's the puppeteer by hearing his voice, and something about Jerry's was very memorable.
The Muppets have dealt with a lot of lost's before, and this was the first in a long time. But, we all know that he's in a better place, reunited with Jim Henson and Richard Hunt. R.I.P. Jerry. You shall be missed.

Damn He's Awesome!I was watching the 2k3 episode "Rogue in the House" (Season 2 2003-2004) when I noticed something interesting.Damn He's Awesome!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
During the big fight at the end, Shredder unleashes six of the Utrom technology based Foot Mech robots on the Turtles. Deadly, hard to destroy, equipped with advanced weaponry, and exceptionally strong Foot Mech robots.
Predictably, Zog – the Triceraton soldier the brothers rescued in the tunnels – destroys three of them.
Leo manages to slice one of them into sushi after a hard fought battle.
But Michelangelo – our light hearted, devil may care, no one takes him seriously orange banded Turtle – kills two! Two of them, all by himself!!!!
He so deserved that title of Battle Nexus champion. And then some.

Commission WidgetTook a peek at DA's new commission widget. Right idea, wrong execution IMO.Commission Widget3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'd much rather be able to accept actual money than DA's faulty and cumbersome point system, and the fact DA takes a "cut" of the commission money just for using the app is a really shitty move.
For example a $30 commission = 3000 points, but I would only get 2400 points or $24 according to the widget. That means DA is taking about a 20% cut of your earnings, which is bullshit. Also, the app only goes up to a maximum of 4000 points. So people who charge more than $40 can't use the app.
I'm probably not even doing the math correctly, it just seems overly laborious and frustratingly convoluted. I'm all for an app that makes taking commissions easier, and honestly 10 years was a LONG way to wait for such an app to finally be implemented.. It just needs refining.
It just makes more work for the consumers to force them to put down money to buy points (which DA takes a percentage of), only to allow them to pay for a
