InsaneIm out of my mind.Insane6 years ago in Open More Like This
I am neurotic.
I have ADHD.
I am compulsive.
I am manic at times.
I am depressive at times.
I am clearly antisocial.
I talk to myself when Im alone, as if to someone who is not there.
I hoard things.
I am always louder than I need to be.
But what really makes me crazy,
I think for myself.

Everybody. Fall in!
We are marching in rank and row.
Everybody. Fall in!
Do you know the radio-operators-song?
It´s about the radio messaging,
and about love as well.
Everybody cheerfully join in the singing!
Sing along comrades!
In the small town,
lives a girl,
and we all love her so much,
because she has two blue eyes.
Blonde hair, seventeen years,
say what more do we want?
As we are from the radio-operators company,
and we always send out: I love - I love you.
And all the girls are listening to it:
Dee dah dee dit, dee dah dee dit ("L"ove)
Although the service is tough,
and the carbine hurts,
we do never despair.
Whether the hand is aching,
or the sand is crunching,
the sweat is running down the face.
Then a song strucks up,
through the rank and through the row,
Everybody cheerfully join in the singing!
Sing along comrades!
In the small town,
lives a girl,
and we all

Fridericus Rex (latin for König Friedrich = King Friedrich, the Old Fritz)
Fridericus Rex, our king and master,
he called all of his soldiers to arms;
two hundred battalions and almost one thousand squadrons,
and each grenadier gets sixty cartridges.
"You damned guys," His Majesty said,
"Each one must stand his ground in the battle!
They grudge me owning Silesia and the county of Glatz
and the hundred millions of my treasure."
"The empress has allied with the French,
and the [Holy] Roman Empire revolts against me;
the Russians have invaded Prussia;
let us show we are brave subjects!"
"My General Schwerin and Field Marshal von Keith
and Major General von Ziethen are ready anyway,
damn bloody hell
upon anyone still not knowing Fritz and his soldiers!"
Farewell now, L[o]uise, wipe your face!
Not every bullet hits!
If every bullet easily hit its man,
where would the kings get their soldiers from?
The musket's bullet makes a small hole;
the cannonball makes an even larger one;

Unser Rommel - Our Rommel
We are the German Afrika Corps.
The Führer´s brave troop.
We rush out like the devils.
Spoil the soup of the Tommy.
We are not afraid of heat and desert-sand.
We defy the thirst and the sunburn.
March with the beat of our drum:
|: Forwards with our Rommel! : |
The Brits fear us like the plague.
They are sitting on pins and needles.
We want revenge for German-East and Southwest.
That once they have stolen us cowardly.
Are Churchhill and Roosevelt also inflamed in anger.
We throw the enemies out of every country.
It beats the drum to arms:
|: Forwards with our Rommel! : |
With us, united in struggle and in victory.
Are marching Italy´s soldiers.
As once the sun of peace shines again for us.
And we come back to our Germany.
But when the enemy´s bullet will find me.
Then let me rest in the desert-sand:
And touch again the drum

GhostAm I a ghost?Ghost7 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Shall I flee, traceless, leaving no mark left scribed?-
Else, mark me here, though I am in transition,
And like the breeze departed as quickly as arrived.
Am I a ghost?
You would not trod flesh, lest flesh be corpse's flesh,
And mine, if pale, is warmed by blood beneath,
Warm as the sun which lays even sweetest dreams to rest.
Am I a ghost?
Then let me be sewn into the russet strands of autumn,
A stitch in the tapestry of life, and the world,
Set to age, and henceforth fade, until perdition's come.
Oh, but let me not fade- let the aeons remember me;
That it was life, and man, I loved most,
And that I breathed air that gods and mortals shared.
I am a ghost.
Heart BreakAnd so I begin to pack away my hopes.Heart Break3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Dreams tuck inside dreams.
Fantasies are painful to unpin-
But after a brief struggle,
they come away with minimal bloodshed.
I fold up memories and compress them between my fingers,
Forcing them to fit into the back of my mind.
I polish regrets and wear them as medals-
Their spikes digging into my chest
As constant but necessary reminders.
Next I haul out that cracked, warped mirror
And stare silently at the image of myself
Created over the past two years.
A shard of Vanity,
A reflection of Self-Doubt,
A glimpse of Paradise Lost.
Last and by no means least comes-
No, no ready yet.
I drink water as if it is wine
And then wish it was poison.
My mind numbs deliciously for a moment,
For a moment I forget.
What was next?

Somehow I knew we would be alright
Pale frost gives way to mid morning chill
I wait by the steps of her apartment block.
She smiles and waves from her windowsill
A quick kiss hello then we start to walk.
Down by the banks of the Vistula river
The sun takes heed to the falling snow.
A glint of her eyes sets my soul a quiver
The feeling she brings to my life I bestow.
The Mermaid statues put my mind at ease
In some ways they make me feel unafraid.
Blankets of ice cover the nearby trees
Huddled as one on the park bench we laid.
The world felt so right as we said goodnight
I took the tram home passing by Old Town.
A gorgeous sight Praga Północ shone bright
Like an uprising king reclaiming his crown.
December reigns down in a white flurry
We catch a show at the Tygmont Club.
The night grows old but we dare not worry
Taking in the music of this local hub.
We cut through Praski Park, all

Somewhere...in the ocean
There is a whirlpool...that is...frozen
I no longer had anything keeping me bound to this world
You were my love, you were my chain, and my heart was a link
And I couldn't bear the thought of never seeing your face anymore
So my knees gave, as I let my thoughts break, and I forced myself to sink
Somewhere...in the darkness
There is a soul...which became faithless
All those memories down the drain
I feel the bitterness of hope
While my tears rain
I cannot cope
Somewhere...in the depths
There is a spark...cradled by emptiness
My pain will always remain in time
As I never wanted to let you go
But I still got left behind
Only to dwell in remorse
Somewhere...along the path
Came a point...where I couldn't stand
I knew there would be no moving on
And there would be no going back
Because I can't stand the thought
Of potentially losing any of that

They have forgotten the meaning of a quiet sunset,

Now, as the men in their suits drink the star like water,
they have forgotten even themselves:

My sweet young dove, I love none other
He begged a kiss beyond her flutter
She gave her virtue to loves desire
But soon his interest spanned the pier

Looking down to the paperwork he was clutching ever so tightly in his arms, Latvia quickly weighed up the options.
Say they were nothing important and have Russia force them from the young nations grip, or offer up the work to be shared and be smacked on the head again, possibly even hurt. Well, he was hoping it would just be a smack on the head. "J-just the last of the energy agreements we made with Spain in 2009, the final paperwork and minutes that need to be proofed and filed before we can hand them out to the public "
Looking back up to Violet eyes, Latvia smiled hesitantly. "B-but i-it must be boring for you right? S-so It's okay if you just want me to do it " Not that he was trying to get out of spending time with Ivan.
As this thought passed through his mind Latvia panicked.

At first he had to admit that it was funny, it eased the tension between the three of them, but now... well, now he actually knew Ivan.
Don't misunderstand, it wasn't like their relationship was any different than before, he had just seen Ivan through a different perspective.
Raivis wasn't even sure when it happened, but Russia somehow felt different to him.
When he was a younger nation he had thought Ivan was a bully, the other Baltic Nations feeling the same way - but Raivis had grown some respect for the Russian. Through all of the hard times he had been there for his nations, to protect them.
Some would just tease, say that he only wanted them to use and abuse, but he had never given up on them, even if they had no
