A car carefully pulled into the driveway of the little cottage on the outskirts of town. Its new occupants climbed out and walked up the long path to inspect their new residence.
"My," The woman exclaimed. "It's even more breathtaking in person."
The man laughed happily. "I told you it would be great! Now we just have to wait for the moving van." Just then, a little girl with [h/c] locks came bounding up to the two.
"Mommy! Can I go explore? Please, please, please!"
The woman smiled at her and rubbed her head.
"Sure, honey. But please, don't wander off to far, okay? Do you promise?"
Her daughter beamed up at her. "Okay! I promise."
Turning away, she took off towards the tree line which lay just at the end of the field.
Waving to her parents, she stepped off into the brush and began her adventure.

A Promise (EnglandxKid!Reader)The year was 1783. England had just returned from Paris, tired and heartbroken. He had just signed a treaty saying that he recognized America as an independent nation. He had raised America like a son for years, but now, America wanted to be apart from him. He knew something was like this was coming, but he never expected it to happen so soon. It would've helped if America was cordial about the independence, but alas, he broke the poor country's heart to get his freedom.A Promise (EnglandxKid!Reader)3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
England entered his home, numb and silent. He sat down in a nearby chair and just stared off into space. His maid came to him, asking if he needed anything, but he just weakly waved his hand to dismiss her. "Big brother!" she squealed, as her (h/c) locks bounced behind her. She pounced on England, and he caught her in h

"That bloody wanker, Scotland!" England yelled as he slammed his front door shut. He had just returned from yet another one of his 'family reunions' and judging by how red England's face was, the reunion didn't turn out too well for him.

When he made it inside, he quickly went to his book shelf which held many of his favorite spell books and potions. England looked at his books and randomly picked one. He knew he wanted to make his brothers life hell, but he didn't know which spell to use at the moment. England continued to skim through the pages, when a page written in dark ink and bold letters caught his attention. England looked over the page, noting what ingredients to use and what to say, and smiled evilly.

"Arthur, you are looking stupid and short as usual!" Francis waved his stubby hand in my face. I rolled my eyes and proceeded to threaten him.
"Just get away from me Francis! I don't need your attitude," I huffed and turned my head. He laughed obnoxiously in my face.
"You are right, if I stay near you too long the ugliness and stupid-ness will rub off onto me," Francis flipped his hair with his stubby fingers and continued to laugh. I made a fist at him.
"Just bugger off!" I yelled. Finally, the frog of a Frenchman left my sight still laughing. I sighed and walked over to a nearby pond. Looking at my reflection, a very gloomy reflection indeed. This was it.
The night that many long weeks of time-consuming preparation had led up to.
The night that had been the talk of the town.
The Royal Ball.
I stood beside one of the marble columns, glancing at the faces of guests that passed.
Suddenly a charming waltz filled the ballroom.
Couples flocked to the dance floor like white doves and began to spin rhythmically to the beautiful, yet somewhat melancholic melody.
My thoughts were interrupted by a gloved hand appearing in front of me and turned to see a handsome young man smiling.
“Would you care to dance?”
Normally, I wasn’t the type for this sort of thing. I had two-left feet.
But…it was a lovely song. And he did seem to be quite charming.
I felt myself captivated by his emerald gaze.
Plus, it would be rude to decline, right?
Gingerly, I placed my hand in his and he escorted me to the center of the swirling mass of dance

We drove in silence for a few moments. My friend Melanie was behind the wheel and I was in the passenger seat. "Come on!" She said finally. "It'll be fun." I said nothing and began to fiddle with the bow on my blouse. I had nothing to say. "Mattie says he's a pretty nice guy." She continued, tentatively. "He said he's funny too. You like funny, right?" I returned to gazing out the window, watching as the sky grew darker and the dying rays of the sun pierced the sky with hues of orange and gold. The city lights around us began to wink to life.
Why did she insist on doing this? I had to admire her perseverance though. She refused to give up. Regardless, I wasn't mad. I knew she just wanted me to be happy. I managed a half-hearted smile as I turned to her. "Yeah. I'm sure it'll be interesting." She grinned. "That's the spirit!"
We finally arrived at our destination: A little 60's themed diner. I raised an eyebrow. As Melanie turned off the car, she stopped me before I climbed out. "O
