It's finally here! ^^Well everybody it's finally done. The epic dragon is 100% complete! I gotta say that this re-build was really a lot of fun! There were a few headaches along the way but what was the hardest thing was that it took a only three days to build but out of the whole 72 hours I only slept about 6 hours because I really wanted to get this done because my midterms are coming up and I didn't want to disappoint any of you who were looking forward to this. ^^ Before I move on, for those of you might ask that you want a step by step build on my dragon that isn't gonna happen. I jumped around so much the only real part I could help you with is the legs and the wings. A step by step is kinda outta the question, sorry. Moving on, the dragon wasn't the only thing on my to-do list for today. If you read my journal yesterday you'll remember that I said I'll be adding some new minifigures as well. Well I don't go back on my word. Ladies and gentlemen I give you two new soldier types. The Wolf aIt's finally here! ^^3 years ago in Personal More Like This
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTEDSo I was at the doctor's office yesterday, and this doctor always overbooks his appointments. So, to make use of the time, I brought my pad, paper, and sharpener, and worked up some sketches. True enough, he kept me waiting (I eventually left without seeing the guy because it was going to take an hour and a half....!)EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED3 years ago in Personal More Like This
While I was sketching in the waiting room, this mom comes in with her two young kids, I'm guessing, around 4 years old. They're obviously nice kids, but being in a doctor's office was upsetting to them, and so, they're carrying on, and the mom is trying her best to keep them from going nuclear.
This wasn't annoying me at all. I'm a dad. I have great empathy for kids, and frankly, I felt like whining at this point, too!
But I thought I could make the situation a little better for the mother and her banshees. So I put away my sketches, and drew a cartoon teddy bear. Then I told the mother that I'm a cartoonist, and that I drew something her kids might like. (I always ask pe

Too much to do, and so little time!Hi guys, just wanted to let you know I'm not dead. I've been really with school lately because I'm transffering to the main branch of my college for the fall and everything is a bit hectic at the moment. I really don't know when I'll be uploading anything big again. It might not be til the end of April when I'm done with finals. That doesn't mean I'm not working on anything though. Right now I'm actually trying to figure out how I can further improve the mars mission hypersonic dropship I have. I wanna give it a full blown makeover, and give it an up to date look. I hope this works out for me.Too much to do, and so little time!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Waiting is the worst part.Well it's been 6 days now and still my lego order hasn't come. That means it should be here any day now. ^^ In the meantime I've been working on a new style for my minifigures. So far I'm very pleased with the prototypes. I've got three done and many more to come. I can already tell that this is a style of building that is here to stay. Once people see how advanced and simple the design is I know others will wanna want to apply it to their own creations. I do want to give you guys a sneak peek as to what I'm currently working on. When I get the lightning and epic dragon finished I finished two custom minifigures using the new style I invented. The epic dragon minifigure is fully finished, but the lightning dragon minifigure still needs a little more work but it'll be done in time.Waiting is the worst part.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Expiration DateI love the Team Fortress 2 short movies. They're like little Pixar films......just with violence, blood, dismemberment and a general disregard for health, safety and human life.Expiration Date1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Usually they're quite brief, but the latest to surface is a whole 15 minutes. Positively feature-length!
It's making me want to revisit those TF2 "auxiliary units" I designed a couple of years back.
SlendermaidsI only really click on the thumbnails that appear on DA’s front page if they look good. I think most people do. A couple of days ago, there was a fabulous pencil-rendered image that caught my eye. I clicked on it, looked at it, admired the work, added the artist to my watch list and then noticed the minor anatomical flaw.Slendermaids1 year ago in Personal More Like This
It was a simple error, one probably born from a mix of the figure’s position on the page and the artist being so eager to start working the image up that they began before double-checking their construction lines (if they use them at all).
My mind, working in the way it does, saw a funny cartoon in it, and, me being me, I drew it, posted it and fully accept the consequences of it and the reaction of the audience, good or bad.
A little while later, another idea popped into my head. This one inspired purely by the concept of long-armed mermaids and the cartoon I had drawn, not the minor flaw in another artist’s quality work.
(This is how inspiration wo

Inspiring GamesI’ve been asked to list which video/computer games I like. I actually compiled a list a while back, with the intention of writing something slightly lengthier than a journal update.Inspiring Games1 year ago in Personal More Like This
The list is not so much what I think are good games – games age and some of them now play like a dog – but they are titles that most inspired me. They either introduced me to new concepts or changed how I saw things.
I won’t go into detail on why each was important to me (that’ll take too long to write!) but if you’re familiar with both my work and these titles, you’ll probably spot where I picked up certain things from.
(Listed in the order of which I first played them)
Cops and Robbers (C64)
The Last Ninja (C64)
Spy vs Spy 2 (C64)
Sonic the Hedgehog (Megadrive)
Sim City (Mac)
Prince of Persia (Mac)
Diggers (Amiga CD32)
Monkey Island 2 (Mac)
TIE Fighter (PC)
Alone in the Dark (PC)
Ultima Underworld (PC)

"Explicit Pornography"?! Aw, jeez, guys. You must have the worst collection of porn on the planet to think that was explicit.
A 90s Rochelle Swanson outing was more explicit that that pic, and that stuff got aired, uncut, on terrestrial UK TV (god bless you Channel 5, you made the young Jack jolly).
I believe that, for something to be labelled "explicit", SOMETHING must be visibly going in SOMEWHERE. Such was not the case in the offending image,
In case you didn't know...I was really happy to see people discussing and helping each other understand SOPA and PIPA in the journal comments yesterday. I noticed some comments that asked the same things so here's some quick information:In case you didn't know...4 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you don't know what SOPA does, dA has actually provided a great journal explaining the bill and the consequences http://hq.deviantart.com/journal/Join-a-SOPA-and-PIPA-debate-280023798?utm_source=deviantart&utm_medium=header&utm_campaignebateSOPA_011712 and this website has a lot of information on how to protest against it http://americancensorship.org/ The fight is not over yet!
No, my journal and icon wasn't really censored. It's to show what would happen if the bill became law.
This one is a bit annoying. Quite a few people were saying "People, stop jumping on bandwagons to be cool!" Or "Why is everyone talking about it now instead of when it first came out? You only care because it's a trend now? I new about it way back in 2011." Um, excuse me, but please don't live in
FailureWell, this is awkward.Failure3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So, I guess my plan had some minor flaws. Namely that when you tie up deviantART staff with yarn and lock them in their office supply closet, they can use scissors and letter openers to break free. I even put a mirror on the inside of the door to confuse them! How did they know that was the way out? They're some smart humans.
They broke free, activated their laser pointers, and regained control of the servers and databases while we were dreadfully distracted. Now, everything is back to normal on deviantART. Worst of all, they said we "were very, very bad" and that they were "disappointed in us". That guilt is hard to live with, my friends.
We're back to drawing board now. No, we won't give up hope of total world domination. We're so close, I can feel it! Watch out, world! This isn't the last you'll see of FUR.
But world domination will have to wait until another day. Who's ready for a cat nap?

Yes, we're back on the gun-debate-thing. And this time the pro-gun crowd are pissing me off because they've set in motion a chain of events that will stifle the potentially fabulous ability to transfer what you create on your computer into the real world.
The man behind it harps on about liberty being his motivation for doing it.
Liberty has to be tempered with responsibility, otherwise you just have anarchy. Using new technology to build a gun doesn't make you a champion for freedom, it makes you an attention seeking moron who gives the powers-that-be REASON to restrict it. They will now do everything the can to prevent the proliferation of the technology. They

Last chicken in Sainsbury's“Dirty Bird”, a fried chicken vendor in Wales, has been forced to defend its choice in logo:Last chicken in Sainsbury's1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Some rather prudish individuals have complained that it looks a mite dubious, while the owner of Dirty Bird has insisted that people are seeing what they want to see, and not what was intended.
It is claimed that the logo is simply the lower case initials of the company placed back to back in order to form the neck and wings of a cockerel.
Seeing one of Dirty Bird’s recent promotional images, however; one might be given cause to doubt their professed innocence.
And people ask why I like living on this spiteful little island
PE: Comparing Copics and WatercoloursTraditional ArtPE: Comparing Copics and Watercolours1 month ago in Art Features More Like This
When starting out in traditional media it can be a little intimidating to decide upon what medium to start or try working with. After seeing what some amazing artists can do with these traditional tools, it may be difficult to choose which one to try out. This article endeavours to cover two such mediums, Copics (an alcohol based marker) and watercolours (a water based paint), starting to compare them for the newcomer.
Costs and Initial Set up
The initial cost of any traditional medium can be expensive as several things need to be purchased at the same time. There are often cheaper alternatives to the paints and markers that can be substituted.
Watercolours come in a few varieties, the two most common being pans or tubes. A set of Winsor & Newton pans (12) is around $22USD whilst a set of 10 tubes is about $35USD. They can be purchased individually
