when he showed up in the village.
Her mother, following her father's death, had just moved to a far-off kingdom to start again, leaving the young woman who refused to go with her alone. It had only been two weeks since then that the man collapsed at the outskirts of the small society.
It looked as though he'd been running a very long time and his granite body had finally given out on him. The Laizhous were called to him before anyone would touch himhe was, of course, strange and foreign. The pair looked at him with wide eyes for a few moments before declaring, "He's from the Stone Kingdom." There was a buzz among the crowd.
"Are you gonna just stare at him, then?" Michelle pushed her way to the front of the crowd, kneeling down beside the man.. "He needs help, doesn't he?" She looked up to the older couple.
"No," Mrs. Laizhou said simply. "Only rest. Looks like he just tired himself out. " She bent down beside him and looked the man over, taking note of his heavy breaths. She nod

The man's eyes opened half way. He was in a roomhad he made it to civilization before he'd passed out? He couldn't remember. And what was he laying in? It was soft and squishy; he felt as though he'd fall through it. His thoughts were interrupted when a woman entered the room. He quickly became fascinated by her and all of the colors on her bodyher orange hair, the pale, peachy tone of her skin, the bright blue of her eyes. He smirked at her lazily as she came over to him.
"I died, didn't I?" he joked. "And now I'm in heaven."
She looked down at him, surprised to hear a voice. "No," she replied simply, "You're in Atelpo village." He laughed a bit, earning a smile from the girl. "I'm Michelle."
"Well, Darren," she said, sitting at the foot of the bed. "You've been asleep for almost three days now. What in Ooo were you doing?"
"Running," he chuckled, looking down to her. "Far as I could."
He smirked and raised an eyebrow. "To find you, of course." While

It was silly. Why was she still crying over him? It'd been so long since she'd last seen him. Three months. Well, definitely less than the three years he'd been gone initially.
Today was especially hard though and she knew why, not that she'd ever say it out loud. When Suco had thought that Cal had died she never cried on this day. She'd meander over to the cemetery and kneel as his grave marker, speaking out loud about mindless things. It left her content and satisfied. Gave her the idea that she could move on some day.
But then he showed up again.
That had changed everything. Just when she was feeling like the wound had healed, that she could carry on, maybe even pack up and move to the Bakery Kingdom, he'd shown up. Everything about him had been so familiarly unfamiliar. His fluorescent orange hair spiked up to a point looked messier, his blue-green eyes tired and dazed. She briefly remembered how those eyes used to look at her. She remembered even longer how they'd looked at the gi

"Goodbye, Calvin." echoed between his ears. He jumped a little at thatTex had never talked to him when he wasn't floating in the tunnel of stars. Not that it mattered now, it seemed that that was the last he'd ever hear from the hot-headed young boy. For all he knew, the moment before was the last he'd ever see of life outside the Stone Kingdom. He was nervous of course, he was about to agree to a lifestyle he'd never wanted to get near with a man he'd sworn he'd never make contact with. What am I doing? He took in a deep breath, squeezing Joanna's hand tightly and looking to her for reassurance. She gave him a small smile and a short nod and he let out a sigh.
Okay. He screwed his eyes shut, taking a deep breath. They were already inside the castle, it was just a matter of actually finding the king. He figured it wouldn't be terribly hard, especially once someone spotted them.
"Hey, you're back!" That was quicker than he expected. His eyes shot open and flew

It wasn't unusual for Tex to toss Cal in a place where the inhabitants dislike humans. In some cases his arm could get him off the hook and, considering the gray scale granite that surrounded him he thought this would be a similar case. However the grey, stoney people seemed to actually be glaring at him. And in some cases they seemed to be studying him as though they weren't quite seeing something right. Though he was unsurprised by the odd looks he was not prepared for when two men came up behind him and grabbed him by the arms.
"Come with us," they ordered. Cal didn't seem to get much choice in the matter.
"What thehey, what's the deal?! Lemme go!" He struggled in their grasp though their stone arms didn't budge as they dragged him away. "Where're you takin' me?!"
"You have been summoned," the man to his left said flatly.
"Whatwhy?! I've only been here an hour, what could I've done?!" He continued to struggle in their unbreakable grasp.

"I wouldn't know, you picked me up and left her at our campsite!"
"She's a big girl!" Tex spat. "I won't keep you longer than twenty minutes okay? My final exam's tomorrow and I've got transport times to make up for, stupid! You had to go and play house with a princess while I was busy falling behind because of it!"

You were pretty sure that you liked him just a teensy bit. Okay, more than that. Normally you would tell him, but you just couldn't sum up the courage to. Why would America, the most popular guy in school, like a loser blind girl like you?
At about seven, right after the four of you finished your burger and fries dinner(the same thing you had for lunch), it was time to leave.
Strolling outside into the warm early fall night, you felt America take your hand and you smiled the tiniest bit. "Thanks for a cool day Al."
"No problemo ______! It wouldn't NEARLY have been as much fun without you!" America laughed.
You heard England's voice behind you. "Hey fatarse, get over here and pay for this lovely young lady."

The two birthdays he celebrated alone were nothing special. He only had a vague idea in his head what the day was anyway. June 30th by Atelpo's calendar was nothing more than a bothersome tug at the back of his mind.
This year though, he did not want his birthday to come. All week he had been thinking about the bustling of his old village, how people must be scrambling to get the small area to look its best. And now, lying in his tent half awake, he began to think about those who used to celebrate today with him even with all of the hectic goings-ons. He wondered if Jeremy would ever leave the village to visit the Shopping Kingdom to get himself new clothes or if tomorrow he would button up the

Cal blinked a few times before slowly nodding. The man in front of him burst into a huge grin. "I knew it had to be you!" He went to try and give the younger man a hug but was shoved back. The guards came to attention. "He's fine, boys. You're dismissed." With a salute the men marched off. The moment they shut the door the sunny disposition fell from the older's face. He looked Cal up and down momentarily before taking the crown off his head and running his hand through his hair. "You sure grew up fast " he sighed. Cal stayed silent. There was a moment of nothingness before the older man laughed nervously and gestured to Cal's arm. "I always told her you'd grow into my genes!" His smile seemed to broaden as he remembered fondly how often he'd reassured Michelle it'd happen. " How is your mom ?" his voiced dropped a bit in volume. "Does does she miss me?"

Your mom tied the string to your black-and-white bikini firmly, making you wobble a bit.
"Are you sure you want to go, ______?" She asked a little nervously.
"Yeah mom, (bf/n) is going to. She'll help out." You let out a small 'hmph'. Your mom was always overprotective whenever you left the house to a place other than school.
"Alright, have fun. Stay out of any pools or waterslides with a deep one at the end." She kissed the top of you head and you heard her footsteps recede down the hall.
Feeling around your bed for your cover, you pulled it over your head and extended your arm out to the wall to leave your room. Unfortunately your pride got the best of you in these types of situations.
You refused to get a seeing cane. It would be humiliating, and from the description and feel of them you thought they wouldn't help much more than your arm.
Also, you had been offered to go to a school especially for kids with physical disabilities that was in your area. It sounded great at first, but

What was I gonna do? Just sit there and think about how cool it would be to kick Cartman's sorry -humungous- ass? Craig Tucker doesn't think, Craig Tucker acts.

The worst part was, he knew this. He'd always paled in comparison to his older brother and, honestly, he hadn't minded. Lucas had been born in the Stone Kingdom and he was just as well-versed and refined as anyone from there.
Jeremy, on the other hand, was soft. Born and raised in Atelpo Village, his paretns had wanted to give him a chance to break tradition. Though they'd gone back to the Stone Kingdom when he was five, his brother had continued to baby him to no extent.
He'd had a crush on Lilac since he could remember and this was obvious to the entire village besides her. He had no doubt that one day he'd be man enough to ask her on a date. They'd fall in love (though he was sure had already had), get married, and maybe even have a few kids. All he had to do was build up the courage to take that first step. In the end though, he couldn't even do that.

The worst part was, he let this define him. From before he could remember he was always Cal's shado
Random Fact Time - Magnet NoisesMagnet people can make a constant humming sort of noise, similar to the tone of a tuning fork. Everyone has their own tone and it varies depending on personality and body size. Two identical twins might have the same one but two people with similar personalities probably won't because they're different in body shape/size.Random Fact Time - Magnet Noises3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
This noise is involuntary and happens when they are happy, or when they're trying to be happy or make others happy. It's kind of like when a cat purrs. It's not very loud.
On the flip side, magnet people make a static-y noise, similar to how static sounds on a radio/tv, when they are upset/angry/in a bad mood in general. This noise is also soft and you'd have to be close to them to hear it, like the humming noise.
The noises come from somewhere around the chest area. Magnet people aren't really sure what causes it, either. There are probably some theories, though.
So anyway, if you're near a magnet person and you hear that humming noise, then they probably are either
