The Hybrid Dragon Chapter 5The Hybrid Dragon Chapter 53 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
I woke up the next day feeling strange, almost relaxed. Then of course I got back into my usual mind set and I was my usual seemingly emotionless self. I got up and got ready for another day of searching. Soon after I was ready my friends Strike and Alpha woke up as well.
"Morning guys." I said.
"Morning." Strike said.
"Hey." Alpha said.
"Alright well today's our first day working for the pokeumans so we should be ready at all times." I said.
"No problem Gamma." Strike said.
"Understood." Alpha said.
"Also before you leave the room keep in mind that not everyone accepts us for the hybrids that we are so someone is bound to try and cause trouble." I said.
"Let me guess you want us to ignore them?" Alpha asked.
"On the contrary I was going to say don't take that crap from them. I find that a good punch to the nose usually shuts those kind of people up." I said.
"I think we're going to get along just fine Gamma." Alpha said smirking.
"Good to hear." I said.
"Um can we go get breakfast now

Whales slip through waves

Time Is The Cure
Right hand of destruction
Left hand of creation
It's a never ending cycle
A fatal revival caught in a downward spiral
I tear down reality’s mask
As I build up a truth to give hope a chance
The veiled darkness decays
The guiding light fades
I let go of an old pain
As new tears wash it away
The sun always rises
The moon always sets
The rain subsides
The storm is put to rest
Clouds confide / Memories detest
Skies collide / Cries confessed
Light shines / Dark regrets
Pain hides / Peace professed
A new day awaits
An old night forgotten
Tomorrow I shall awake
To cradle what remains unbroken
I can't erase my mistakes
But I can't let them define my fate
There's always control
There's always faith to hold
Opposites are locked together
I am the sinner; I am the confessor
With time- comes change

Chapter 1-DerynDeryn couldn't believe what shed said to him. How could I have been so stupid!, she thought, storming into her cabin and slamming the door. "Fool! I'm a bloody fool!" she yelled, stomping over to her bed and throwing herself on it, burying her face under her pillow. There she sobed for a good twenty minutes, unable to help herself.
She hadn't ment to be so rude. She was jsut fed up with Alek tryign to pry things out of her. She couldn't tell him her secret, even though it was tearing her up inside to keep it from him. It was only fair that he knew, seeing as he had told her jsut abotu everything. But if he knew she wasn't a boy....she was sure he'd flip over the moon and never speak to her again.
When she'd finally had her fill of girly nonsense, she changed into her work clothes and ran up onto the ships topside, pushing every single thought of the prince ot hte back of her he

"And I don't ever-" her mother's voice screeched with fury, her plump face turning a ruddy color with anger to match her daughter's.
"Ma, this is my passion! Ever since Da died- " Deryn sputtered out.
"No. Don't you say a word, young lady. Passion has nothing to do with it! A young woman such as yourself doesn't go hop on some warship and come back like like this!" Mrs. Sharp vigorously waved her flour-stained palms in Deryn's direction, and Deryn could do nothing but hang her head in shame.
Another set of eyes had been watching this scene, taking in the childish bickering. The brunette knew better than to get between a mother and her offspring, so he forced himself not to make a sound and drew himself to the farthest corner of the table.
"Why can't you just ac
Chapter 4 "Prince Who?""DERYN!!!!! DERYN!!!!!" Alek's voice rang out in the near silence. His body felt like it had been stepped on by the Stormwalker. Alek could barely move himself, his legs felt like they were broken, but he tried to ignore it, standing weakly to search for her. He had held on for dear life but....
His head was spinning, the ground a mix of colors and directions. He wasn't sure where he as at all. It was dark, the only light coming from the moon and the lanterns from somewhere up ahead.
He had heard it hit the water, the crunch of wood and screech of men and creatures alike. He wanted to go help them, to find Volger and Klopp and see if they had made it out alive. But he couldn't.
In a way the scenario was perfect. Everyone would think he and Deryn were dead, and his whereabouts would remain a secret forever. But he would give himself up right now if it meant saving the lives that were most

"Can you keep a secret?"
Twilight was lying in her bed wide awake, staring at the ceiling. The sunlight was creeping into the room behind the thick blue curtains; the light filtering through casted faint shadows on the walls. The mare was going over yesterday's lesson in her head. Instead of ending awkwardly like the one earlier this week, it had just been awkward in general. The lengthy discussions she and the Princess usually had about the books had been diminished into a few words and there had been no "ideas" from Princess Celestia. At least this time Twilight had been prepared for it, though the way she prepared for something like this meant that there was rarely much more she could learn. Luckily studying was something Twilight greatly enjoyed. She also got to spend time with the Princess - something she enjoyed even more, lately more than ever. But no matter how much she loved all this, she hadn't been able to shake the nagging feeling that s

Leviathan: A picture for a prince
Just a small intro. Deryn/Dylan Sharp and Prince Alecksander Ferdinand are on board the leviathan heading towards the Ottoman Empire. A surprise request from Aleck gets Deryn/ Dylan to realize her true feelings for him. Rated pg-13 for later chapters.
(I might go to four chapters at most, also keep in mind there is a change of point of view and that the book just came out in October. This fanfic is a test run for future fanfics later on)
Alek walked along the great air ship that was the Leviathan. His now rubber soles clanked against the metal walkways of the ships spine. The whole crew seemed to be a little on edge whenever he and his men walked about with their "highly flammable" shoes. Until finally to put them all at ease they borrowed some rubber shoes that were necessary if you were to walk along the great ship.
After receiving the shoes Alek decided to head to the backside of the creature or "dorsal" as he learned later it

Deryn sprinted down the corridor, grabbing the gut hatch and peeked out about what the commotion was. What she saw totally blew her mind.
"Barking spiders," Deryn mumbled in awe as she saw a clanker machine swoop overhead and shoot a row of bullets into the whale's spine. Deryn dropped down the hatch as the aeroplane zoomed overhead almost beheading her.
"Barking persistent are they! Once on the glacier and now on the border of China? What are the clankers now; watchdogs?" Deryn exclaimed, checking first to see if the aeroplane was gone, then pulling herself out onto the spine. She whistled with the scene that met her eyes; there were huge masses of dead bodies strewn all over the Leviathan, both beastie and human. The sight brought tears to Deryn's eyes to see the airship so helpless with the clankers swooping again and again destroying more and more of it each time.
"Bum-rags!" Deryn shouted at them tears spring
Chapter 7 "Waiting"Alek refused to come out of his room.Chapter 7 "Waiting"4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Deryn stood outside the door for what seemed like an hour knocking, talking softly to him to try and coax him out, but to no avail. He was not in the mood for anything but sitting and brooding.
Bum-rag, Deryn thought. While he was sitting in there, comfy as a bug in a rug, she was out here, desperatly trying to break the akward silence with Lilit. She had offered the girl water, food, rest, but she declined all, choosing to sit in the living quarters, Bovril on her lap.
The blasted creature had been all too elated to see her, running up and down her arm, spitting out random words in it's excitment. She stroked it gently, cooing to it in different languages, Bovril practically purring.
Deryn made herself a sandwish and sat on the chair farthest from Lilit, chewing quietly. The girl was much different than Deryn remebered, and she felt her cheeks get hot when she thought about they're last meeting. When she finished eating, she grabbed her sketch pad

By: DolphinBuster starring: Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy
I held in a growl watching Fluttershy panic in fear as she tried another loop. That pegasus is such a scaredy pony. It had been just about the same thing for the past hour or so. I'd demonstrate the trick Fluttershy would try, she'd panic, fall down, and whimper how sorry she was for failing. She's a pony that you can't seem to stay mad at, but she could be really aggravating at times, though.
Seriously though, I shouldn't be complaining. I was the one that had taken a day off weather duty to spend some time with Fluttershy and teach her a trick or two. But all she seemed to learn so far was a half loop, and how to fall without breaking anything.
Fluttershy sat on the ground, shaking her mane to cover her face. She was obviously embarrassed.
"Its okay, Fluttershy. You put in a great effort. It just takes practice." I had to hold back a choke at grea

Chapter 3 "Jump"Deryn's brain was on overload. The prince of Honenburg, Aleksandar Ferdinand, had asked her to marry him. Unbelieveable. SHe was over the moon with herself.Chapter 3 "Jump"4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Since she had told him who she really was, Alek had been up her bum. SHe never had a moments peace from him, nor did she want one. After all the worrying htat he woudl rat on her, this was the most blissful time she could have asked for. Everything had gone so muh better than she ever expected. Alek loved her, too. He loved her, and he wanted to marry her.
She wanted to scream, run up and down the entire airship and tell every person she could. But, of course, that would be the stupidest thing she could ever do. She was still Dylan Sharp, after all, and she couldn't let anything slip.
But the days loomed closer to their arrival in Japan, and Deryn was having a hard time deciding. There were pros and cons to everything. If she stayed, she could continue flying around the world with the most famous living airship around. But she woul
Chapter 10 "Monotony"The port was bustling, people of all ages were filling the walkways, there was barely room to breathe. Alek grasped his satches tight to his chest, ushering Deryn towards one of the farthest docks. Children ran underfoot, nearly sending him to the ground twice. But he didn't stop to complain, if they didn't hurry they would miss their boat.Chapter 10 "Monotony"4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
At long last they made it, just as passengers were boarding. It was a large vessel, probably larger than the Leviathan, length-wise. They hurried up the ramps, handed their tickets over, and boarded.
Alek and Deryn contained themselves to their cabin for most of the trip, not wanting to get noticed in case someone had a keen eye. The trip was scheduled to be three weeks, so they had plenty of time to plan their next move.
"I can't wait to get off this barking ship" Deryn complained, only three days in. "The water is not the most entertaining way to travel. At least on the Leviathan I had things to do besides sit on my bum in a room all da
Cold as Stone 4Deryn sat bolt upright in the dismal hospital bed. She looked around. The nurse was nowhere to be seen. Setting her ice pack on the table beside her, she slid off the bed and crept to the door.Cold as Stone 44 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
She swore she just heard a gun shot. The sound was unmistakeable. Deryn slowly opened the door and peered both ways. The hall was deathly silent and dark. Her feet made little sound as she padded shoeless down the hall and in the direction she thought she'd heard them go an hour ago.
Deryn encountered no one as she glided along, keeping ot the shadows. Blisters, this place is confusing, she thought ot herself as she rounded a corner. It seemed there was no end to the twisting corridors. Portraits stared down at her, as if tracking her every move. She shuddered. The sooner they were out of this place the better.
But what would happen after this? The Leviathan was dead, she had no money to return home. She was stranded somewhere far from home with the archduke of Austria-Hungary.
Deryn shrugged aw

Alek tried to sleep, but perching precariously on a branch about fifteen feet in the ari was not the best idea he'd had. No one ame into hte park that night, and they weould have been find sleeping on the ground. But Deryn was snoring away on his lap, and he didn;t dare disturb her.
After a few failed attempts, Alek gave up on counting sheep, and counted the stars instead. He hadn't been in Austria in so long, and now that he was back, he felt a strange kind of peace. He was home.
The sky was outrageously beautiful, the stars glittering against their black backdrop. There was a faint glow on the horizion from the city, but it didn't disrupt the gorgeous view. He played with Deryn's hair, watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful. His heart leapt when he touched her skin, her face completely blocking out any pretty night sky. She was beautiful, her features strong and sharp. He chuckled. Her name fit her so well.
He eventually was able to rest, his eyes

Twilight thought she was alone, but obviously, she was not.

"Oh, sorry Twilight," said Pinkie, when she realized why Twilight was lying on the floor, dizzy-eyed.
"Uh, Twi, you ok?" Rainbow Dash said, also seeing Twilight on the floor.
"Yes, I'm fine," said Twilight, getting up from the floor. "Why are you two here anyway?"
"No important reason," said Dash. "Just wanted to see what you were doing."

"You didn't come and sleep with me last night," Sasori said in a slight pout.
"I... I was busy and I didn't want to bother you later at night, un. I'm sorry," the blond replied, his eyes a downcast.
The redhead smiled and wrapped his arms around his servants waist. "It's fine, but would you like to sleep with me tonight?"
Deidara smiled and nodded. "Yes, I would," he said, a slight blush on his cheeks.
"Good," Sasori said, as he leaned down to kiss the blond lovingly. Deidara's face heated up even more and he wrapped his arms around his Danna's neck. Deidara was about to take it further, but Sasori pulled away.
"I don't want to get carried away," he said, brushing the back of his hand against the blond's flushed cheek. "Would you like to go to the orchard?" he asked, already wishing he hadn't.
Deidara's eyes went wide with fear and he shook his head. "N-no," he said, his voice shaky.
The redhead nodded and sighed. "I'm sorry, I forgo-"

They were in a bedroom. A huge bed stood against the wall, with scarlet hangings, and lavishly furnished with chairs and bokshelves. Volger gestured for Alek to sit at the small desk to their right. He complied, too tired to stand, and Volger sat across from him.
"Have you any idea where we are?" the man asked, lacing his fingers together and reclining in his chair.
"Not a clue" Alek answered stiffly. "Though I gather its somewhere quite nice."
Volger nodded. "We are at the home of your granduncle, Franz Joseph."
Alek froze. "What do you mean? Why in God's name are we here?"
"He is dying." Volger said simply. "When the German's attacked the Leviathan, I claimed to have captured you, and they brought us here. I must say, he was quite pleased. He gave me this room to stay in as long as I like."
"Well, thats lovely." Alek scoffed. Volger ignored that and c
