Great plotting and a mildly disturbing/creepy plotline.
A short poem, but carries so much impact, along with the use of wonderful language.
Read it yourself. I'm not spoiling anything here.
Beautiful imagery with a palette of colors.
A short, humorous, six word story utilizing the lovely gallows humor.
More excellent words from an excellent artist!

Have you ever wonder how to create a fractal like this:
Well, those fractals are from two different fractal style, joined togehter into one single apo flame via xaos. a flame become the filler for the plastic bubble style. The first one is juliaN fractal joined with plastic bubble. The second one is mobius gasket inside plastic bubbles. The third one is plastic bubbles inside plastic bubbles. And the last one is julian/ring2 flame inside palstic bubbles.
Worry not. I'm here to tell you the secret The secret is xaos. So, on this journal, i'll write about how to create it. At first, i want to make this explanation as a tutorial. you know, jpeg based tutorial like i ussually do. But after some consideration, i think it's better to just explain it here. Can you believe it? Can you actually believe it?! Literature Roadtrip 2.0 is officially here - well tomorrow anyway. But I am excited to announce that this is the official timetable! It was incredibly hard to choose who to have in the first three days, but I am very happy with my decision. I was unable to have every deviant suggested on the last day, so I choose those who were suggested the most. I hope you guys enjoy the trip and if you have any questions/have a problem with my decision/wondering why you weren't chosen/want to chat send me a message, I'm always willing to help you out!

There's a considerable amount to cover this week, but I wanted to clarify something first so please bear with me. I FOTW'ed one author twice on two separate poems. I assure you that this was not intentional. I go through my group notifications and select pieces by pure content and don't even look at who wrote it, and it was by mere coincidence that I picked the same writer twice. The most I can say is that I really liked their work!! To the point where it bled into my subconscious so kudos to you
As I said before, lots to go over; I encourage everyone to read the work of all the author's here.
Lumen uses subtle and soft phrasing to emphasize a lack of purity. It's like a touch..and it's gone, so soft and so fleeting. Each word falls like rain, on ground tha

Moreover, I told you I intended to do something special for the 10th article, well here's what I thought about. I'm gonna write some facts about myself whenever I'll write a feature article. And I'll try not to do something crappy. :icondojimaangryplz:
Plum facts #1 : Whenever I really like a song, I listen to it all day long, and several days in a row. For real. That's why some songs remind me parts of my life. And surprisingly, these are all good memories.
Plum facts #2 : I always think I should keep in touch with old friends I haven't talked with in a while. However I always feel reluctant to do it, and think they might be annoyed to talk to me, or they just won't give a damn.
Plum facts #3 : I really met amazing people here. I wonder why people on the internet are more friendly than IRL.
What do you think? Ca

Waywords: Moving Forward with Your LiteratureOh my God, a subtitle; things just got real. Now, let's take a gander at what we've done previously here at Waywords; we've interviewed deviants about themselves and their literature. However, this time, let's deviate from our given path, travel along the road not taken. Today, instead of an interview, we're going to do something... different; more useful. I am Eevee1999, your host, and I will gladly lead you on the tour. But please, call me Chris.Waywords: Moving Forward with Your Literature1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Now literature is written when you want it to, not by a set deadline or the such. However, what about those of you who attempt to write constantly, but cannot find an idea? What about those who constantly feel like their works, put simply, suck or are below par? Now, coming from someone who hopes to be an author, I like to constantly look up writing tips, and some of those I am going to share with you guys today; it doesn't matter if you hit a block or just can't seem to write well, you are a writer, and if you better yourself as
Structuring a Story: Linear VS Non-LinearStructuring a Story: Linear VS Non-LinearStructuring a Story: Linear VS Non-Linear1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Thanks to everyone who took part in last week's workshop! <3
I'm looking for people to help run workshops (more detail at bottom).
So now that we’ve talked about how to kick start our imagination, we now need to start putting those ideas on paper. I was going to do an article on planning Project Educate’s story planning week was not long ago. There’s a roundup of PE’s story planning week here: http://beccalicious.deviantart.com/journal/PE-Story-Planning-Round-up-378695534
I recommend it; it’s very useful and interesting.
So now onto structure.
I like to split structure up into two categories: linear structure and non-linear structure (simple, eh?). Linear being when the events of the story happen in chronological order eg Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Non-linear allows for detailed or in-depth flash backs, or may start at the end of a story, or even the middle of a story, and hav
Unintentional JabsMost of the time it is better that people don't know that deep dark secret. But then again it can cause problems. Haven't you noticed? There's the girl who cringes at rape jokes, flinches at any body contact.
She was once raped.
The boy who declines alcohol quicker than most, begs you not to drink too much.
His father was an alcoholic.
The girl who cowers in fear when you raise your voice, raises her hands in defense.
Her parents use to beat her.
The boy who flinches at the word faggot, asks you not to use it.
He's gay and his father doesn't approve.
You can never be too careful when it comes to someone's feelings.

Valentine's Contest!Valentine's Day: some love it, some hate it...and if you're like me, you enjoy it for the candy and roses! this isn't something i can
sweat or starve out of me,
i'll have to write and it will
see i've often thought about
placing my head in the pestle
and mortar, i wonder if i could
grind out the hell inside, become
a red pulp on the worktop, and
even the oven keeps tutting at me,
it's so easy, just open the door
stick your hand in, feel his forked
tongue on your palm,
orange lover, you
and it's true
that the dead are never really
silent, they grunt and they groan
in their damp soil sheets,
toss and turn over
(fill the bath with water, and just drop me in it)

that don't make sense,
i said i know,
like that time i laughed so hard at the wake
i had to stay out in the garden making small talk with the smokers
for the rest of it,
like the time i shut myself in the garage and went to sleep
in the backseat of your car,
and how i'm not at all religious but i sat in church that day with
my hands clasped and
how i kept the windows shut that sunday so what i prayed for
couldn't get in,
like the time i watched her throw your stuff out on the driveway,
and when she managed to smash those plates even with
her broken wrist, how most hearts start to sink when tempers rise,
and the time i wanted to cradle that dead pigeon i saw at the
train station, and you told me to answer the phone and i wouldn't
because i knew it was you,
and when the night comes calling i always let him in,
i'm never quite sure who he is, but he says
he's paid for it so now i better fucking
he says haven't you learnt by now
A Lesson in PoetryHello everyone! So today I thought I'd post a journal in regards to a very important subject: poetry. As many of you are aware, we have a lot of talented poets on deviantART. However, this doesn't mean that we couldn't improve. And sometimes we need a refresher of the basic poetic terminology. Below you will find some significant key words/methods used to enhance a poem. I hope you will find them useful in your own work.A Lesson in Poetry1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Most of you already know what this. Therefore, I won't bother going into deep detail about it. But I will say that imagery is something that can appeal to all five senses: touch, taste, smell, sound, and sight. Remember, it's not only about the eyes!
Some examples of imagery: The caress of her silver cotton gown against my parched skin made me break into a sudden sweat. I ate the apple slowly, letting the slithers of red peeling slide between my teeth.
This is when closely-connected wo
The Top Reasons for Manuscript RejectionOne of the things that the literary agency I work for does some weekends out of the year is teach seminars on query writing and the first 5 pages of manuscripts (which, basically just means the first page of the manuscript). The seminars last only a day or two, but aim to help writers improve their queries and start of their books so that they have a better chance of standing out in the ever-growing slush pile. Since I know many members of the literature community here aim to one day be published writers, I thought I would share our sheet of the top reasons for manuscript rejections. Please note: These are in no particular order. The Top Reasons for Manuscript Rejection2 years ago in Literature Features More Like This
Wrong genre Agents have guidelines for specific genres that they like to represent. Just like you and me, they have certain genres they love and certain genres they don't. Sometimes, it's not because of personal preference, but because they don't know the market for some books as well as other agents who are very passionate about
