Memorials and Green Eyes (SasuSaku)"Daddy can I ask you something?" Brilliant green eyes peeked out from under ebony bangs, curiosity shining through as they rested on the man in front of them.Memorials and Green Eyes (SasuSaku)1 year ago in Romance More Like This
"Of course, Sou."
The little boy calmly walked to his father's side, small hand instantly coming up to clutch at his father's ever-bandaged fingers. He turned a serious expression to the older brunette—an expression Sou had definitely gotten from his daddy—and asked, "Why do you go to the memorial every day?"
Sasuke's eyes widened fractionally at the question. Of course, his son was very sharp. That was a trait both he and Sakura had given to all of their children and he could not be more grateful. But after years of explaining away his absence in the early mornings, that was a question he hadn't expected.
"You wanna know why I go to the memorial huh?" he echoed, a mysterious smile taking root on his pale lips. He looked up from the boy to gaze out the window he was standing just in front of; the window with the perfe
Love In the Face Of PainLove In the Face Of Pain1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
Why is true love so hard to express?
Why can't I throw away those thoughts of what that man instiled in me? I have met and befriended ones that prove all of those instillments are not always true.
Yet, when I find a person worth taking a chance on, I can't quiet those thoughts and inner demons for me to
fight for what I want or reach out my hand for help and my scars raise up again of what that man did to and said to me.
Every part of my body says run, but my soul says please help me, holed me and love me.
I love you, but I can't talk, I can't move and I can't act on it.

they can't imagine that much pain,
they think I'm acting normally
and am coping with the strain.
I speak to them, we laugh,
they think I'm still the same,
they don't see me crying helplessly
or they'd think I was deranged.
It's not easy being without you,
trying to live life on my own,
with this ever cruel reality
that's really hitting home.
You're gone from me, forever,
you won't be coming back.
Me I'm left here standing
and inside I'm a wreck.
You took my heart the day you left,
my happiness went too
What good's all this pretending when,
I'd just rather be with you.

Wake Me Up (SasuNaru)Bright blue eyes opened with a rush, looking up to the expanse above them in clear wonder. How long had he been asleep? Why was he outside? …where was everyone?Wake Me Up (SasuNaru)1 year ago in General Fiction More Like This
The young boy stared up at that deep blue sky, piecing things together slowly in his mind. He had gone to bed the night before, wondering just how much longer he could handle being alone. Hadn’t he? Of course he had… He had climbed out of his dirty clothes, not bothering to put them into the hamper… He had slinked right under his covers too.
It had been a rough day, full of misery and hateful words from the villagers all around him. So many people were still unwilling to accept him as a shinobi of the village, so many people still frightened of the boy with the demon fox in his core. He had actually been chased away from a store front this time, something that hadn’t happened in quite some time.
People were probably afraid of his being a fully instated shinobi now, he had thought dully. Now that he
A Family Christmas (Kakashi and Co.)Kakashi sighed heavily, eyes scanning the stacks of paperwork that still needed finishing, letters from foreign nations that needed reading, the missions and squads that needed attending. He had always known that being Hokage would be busywork, and was well aware of it when Tsunade offered him the job shortly before she retired. But he had been hoping he would at least have the holidays to himself.A Family Christmas (Kakashi and Co.)1 year ago in General Fiction More Like This
But that was a fool's dream and he knew it. He had been hoping for time alone with his old family's graves, and time spent with the young adults he had grown to love and consider his new family. But dereliction of duty had never been his manner. And so, he trudged to his desk, sat in that stiff, high backed leather chair with its cracks and its creaks from many years of use, and began to work.
It was hours later when a knock sounded on his door. He issued a curt "Enter," never looking up from his Christmas Day papers. The door creaked open quietly and he didn't hear the footsteps until...
Beckon (NaruSasu)Every time you fall, I will be there for you.Beckon (NaruSasu)1 year ago in General Fiction More Like This
As tears stream down your face, I will be there; your shoulder to cry on.
When you need to scream, I will listen, ever silent.
If you need to fight, I will be there to fight back.
I will be your light and your dark, if only you let me.
You need but beckon and I will come.
Send me off, and off I go.
Look at me, and I melt.
Simply look away, and I will die.
You are my everything and my nothing.
But am I nothing to you?
You Were My Destiny (SasuNaru)“You… You were my destiny…” Even as he choked on the blood bubbling up his throat, Sasuke smiled sweetly—sweetly, because he knew his time had finally come. His hand moved of its own volition, reaching shakily for his lover's face. When it made contact with skin it was already far too cold, fingers not responding the way the once skilled shinobi knew he should have managed. But in the face of something so helpless, he supposed he really didn’t care.
Naruto sobbed hard again, clutching at the Jonin's blood-soaked hand, tears pouring down his face and marring his vision. He didn't have the words to say; didn’t have the strength to save him. He couldn’t do anything but sit there and cry.
“N-no—cough—tears…” Sasuke’s breaths were ragged now, all the sounds filtering and processing slowly through hi
One Look (SasuNaru)It was the looks he was spared that he treasured most. They were private, intimate, meant only for him. Furtive, even, if one went so far. Everyone would be talking and laughing and enjoying their meal and then suddenly coal eyes would stray to his cerulean blues and all else would fade away. It was only for seconds at a time, and never really with a smile, but those coal eyes spoke worlds where mouths did not. He treasured those glances because they were the closest thing he had to Home. One Look (SasuNaru)1 year ago in Romance More Like This

On Our Sleeves (KakaSasu)Kakashi Hatake couldn't remember exactly how he had been conned into teaching at high school level. It might have been something about the University funding being cut down for the dozenth time, requiring the mass-sacking of its staff; himself included. And then the car payments and mortgage, oh and the bills just kept arriving at his doorstep, because that shit doesn't know what a pause button is, and before he knew it Kakashi was taking the first job offered to him, all to prevent some dead-shit removalist from taking his TV and sofa at 1 AM.On Our Sleeves (KakaSasu)1 year ago in General Fiction More Like This

Your Guardian Angel (Naruto x Reader)The smell was more than enticing; it was mouthwateringly delicious. The powerful aroma of brewing soup and stewing vegetables wafted lazily through the air, curling about the potential patrons like a self serving and inviting cat. It slinked along, hugging curves and corners, ducking down alleyways, drawing people in. Then, just afterward and following closely on its skittering heels, came the slightly sweet and barely salty scent of freshly cooking noodles. It was sultry and starchy and just perfect. Pair all of it with light and flaky fish, grilling chicken and roasting pork and the veritable cacophony of delicious smells was enough to drop even the most distinguished of palates to their proverbial knees.Your Guardian Angel (Naruto x Reader)2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

"Yes, Naruto?" The older man's voice was subdued as he gazed past the memorial in front of them, eyes not really seeing the names or the stone, but the faces that belonged to them. He did not shift from his stance, hands in his pockets, head bowed slightly.
The silence stretched between them as the blonde contemplated his words, wind tousling his hair. He had an image to keep now, didn’t he? It was due for a cut soon, he realized absently, azure eyes not really seeing anything. It was getting long enough that it would be in his face if it wasn’t so naturally unruly. The Key to Adventure
“Gad Zooks!” Proclaimed Akiva Akkad, nose in his book in the center of the public library. He was promptly shushed by a librarian, but in his excitement he hardly noticed. He pulled the sleeve of his friend Ollie. “Say, did you ever hear about the Sons of Liberty?”
Ollie only shrugged.
The two bosom friends couldn't agree on where to spend their day, so they flipped a coin and Ollie's aspirations of seeing a baseball game went up in smoke. Now, like other times they'd whiled away hours in the New York public library, Akiva was ensnared in a book and couldn't resist sharing it.
He asked the question again.
Ollie looked lazily up from his magazine “Sure, a long time ago, in school. Why?”
“I'm reading about their exploits now. I tell you, Ollie, those fellas were really something! Heroic men like Paul Revere

The last Uchiha looked up from the dirt path beneath his feet to throw a curious glance over his good shoulder. The light playing through the branches and leaves overhead made him squint his eyes as he did, and he almost put up a hand instinctively to shield them, but wasn’t able. His remaining hand was occupied with his pocket and rather cozy, thank you very much.
That rambunctious blonde, wannabe Hokage was running up the steeply sloped hill behind him, trying to catch up to his brisk pace. He looked harried and like he had important news, but that was just the way with the excitable young man. With a sigh, Sasuke slowed, then stopped, turning out of the wind to face him head on.
"What do you want Naruto?" he called, barely raising his voice and knowing he would be more than well enough heard.
When said blonde finally caught up he was no more winded than when he started, owing to his training and years as a shinobi. "Hey I got somethin' really importa

The deep buzz of the bass from inside the well-to-do nightclub in this well-to-do neighborhood had drowned out the muffled sound of a gunshot.
Naruto had been in the middle of a high, pealing laugh as he turned to face his lover, content that they had been able to spend his birthday on the town. Finally eighteen! he was happily proclaiming, when he suddenly lurched forward with that horrified expression on his tanned face.
He only just managed to gasp a slight and frightened "Saskeh...?" before he teetered and fell forward. Sasuke almost didn't catch him in time and the second he had the blonde in his already shaking arms he was covered in blood. In Naruto's blood.
He had been shot through the lower abdomen, in the side alley of a rich neighborhood where Sasuke had been
A Little Bedtime Tale (SasuNaru)Sasuke was not known as a patient man. He never had been in reality. Of course, his temper was far kinder than when he was a child; back then, one wrong move or errant word and he would have gone off and then some, sometimes to the point of hurting his teammates or friends before he had realized what he had done. Now he was a touch more refined, and worlds more tactful, but still, losing his patience was known to be a regular occurrence of his.A Little Bedtime Tale (SasuNaru)10 months ago in General Fiction More Like This
So when Naruto started coughing once more, the Uchiha turned to glare at him, hardly biting his tongue to silence himself as he did. His coal eyes took one sweep over his lover's features—cheeks flushed, eyes glassy and watery from coughing, nose pink; all the tell-tale signs of a feverish cold—and sighed.
"Naruto go to bed."
"No." The Jinchuriki’s voice was thick and congested and stubborn as ever. The blond curled backwards into his fleece, staring out at the TV and obviously barely registering it through those hazy pools of

Lightly tanned fingers barely caught the boy as he careened forward, losing his balance as he flung himself gracelessly around a corner, skidding on his once-clean socks. Arms pumping frenetically, the orange and blue blur streaked down the long, seemingly never-ending hallway, trying desperately to reach the door at its far end. It seemed that everything was moving in slow motion expect for him; he was running, expending plenty of energy trying to reach that door, but the hall was passing him at a languid, unassuming pace. The door seemed no closer now than it had been when he rounded the corner. In fact, the harder he ran, the further away that door seemed to get!

There are rituals in glances
Here among the tossed-aside innuendos
Let the music of time drown out
all the best laid plans
