Shadows come closer,
Lights gleam near
Of both you have something to fear.
Darkness brings secrets,
Brilliance carts lies,
Both hidden in layered disguise.
Dusk steals the sun,
Dawn filches the moon,
Taking them away all too soon.
Murky brooks hide,
Clear streams fool,
Minds bend in this wily duel.
Dimness blinds,
Light does too,
But which is preferred by you?
Come to the shadows,
For flight is done in vain.
Fall to the light,
For fight will be your bane.
Escape is only futile,
Resistance is mere bile,
Haven is but a pile.
