So...there's this nationwide art competition called the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. It's only open from grades 7 - 12, I'm sure some of you have heard about it before.
It's one of the most prestigious and well-known art competitions in the world.
You can enter a piece of artwork, and it can win either an Honorable Mention, a Silver Key, a Gold Key, or nothing at all.
Up until now, I had only gotten an honorable mention--pretty bad luck.
This year, this piece won a Gold Key at Regionals (the local judging):

I have almost 1000 watchers which is amazing, and I feel like I'm not being quite as involved with you guys as I should be. This is mostly because of school, stress, and general lack of motivation, but I'm sick of it!~ :0
So, I want to start doing way more requests, gift arts, and contests! c:
I opened up five requests slots today, and they filled up under a minute. >.>
I feel bad for everyone who didn't get one (even though they're only doodle requests, not full out awesome ones), so it got me thinking about what I can do.
Here's some ideas:
-Once every week, open 5 sketch requests, like I did today.
-Every two or three weeks, have a raffle to win a free, soft-shaded drawing.
-Every two months, hold a

I have been gone for a really LONG time, haha. I guess I have been getting kind of caught up in life, with school, trips, and work. ^^' Ahh, how long it's been since I have drawn. We had a four day weekend for Presidends day, and on Friday, I went on a trip to Chicago with my Orchestra class, for two days. It was really fun, we saw alot of things such as Milenium park, the shedd aquarium, the magnificent mile, chicago syphony orchestra, and the group I hung out with went to the top of the Hancock building and we had a fancy lunch.It was 95 stories, you could see the chole city~! Me and my friend where supposed to share a hotel room with two other people while we where there, but we ended up getting the room alone, so we didn't have to share anything w
