The Third Night~Clint + Natasha~The Third Night2 years ago in Romance More Like This
This is the third night Clint has sat here. Up in the rafters, perched on thin pieces of steel and metal, built above the stage. This is the third night he's brought his bow and set it aside, because what's the point? He won't use it. Not now.
This is the third night he's lied to himself. The third night he's told himself, you're gaining intel, little chunks of information and evidence that will help SHIELD. The third night he's crumpled the piece of paper in his hand, sighed, and tossed it in the trash barrel. He'll be gaining no secret details tonight. Just more of that delicate, overpowering light, that soft, trembling music, and the push and flow of her body.
The first night he was truly intending to take her. He would take some part of her past, something he could use, if he didn't actually take her life. But then he got himself ready, positioned himself in his nest, tested the strings, selected an arrow, and the music turned on.
Clint has never been a classical

"Antsy?" Tony asks as he scrolls through his holopad, his legs crossed over the table. You glare at him.
"Feet off the table, Tony," Pepper tells him as she brings in a large plate of warm fajita meats. Tony pulls his legs down and licks his lips hungrily. "Did you get enough for Thor, too?"
"He's got his own plate on the way," Pepper tells him. Banner, scratching his ruffled hair, slips a blue pen behind his ear. His baggy eyes tell you he's been up working in the lab again. Soon behind follows Clint, clapping his hands and sighing.
"Oh this smells so wonderful, miss Potts," he says as he pulls up a chair. Natasha enters the room as well in a full yoga outfit, pulling her growing red hair into a tiny bun.
"Why thank you, Barton," Pepper says as Thor enters. He looks sweaty, wiping his face and hands with a rag.
How to make an Alien speciesHow to make an Alien species, a guide I hope you may find useful. How to make an Alien species5 years ago in Editorial More Like This
This is not a definitive guide; nor are any of these hard-and-fast rules; these steps do not need to be done in any particular order; you can do do them any way you please, or even go back and forth from one to another; this is just a simple guide to one way of making an Alien species, that I hope you may find helpful.
Step 1: A basic idea
Get a basic idea of what you want your species to be like: are they active or indolent; united or divided; expansive or conservative?
Example: have an idea for an alien species called the Kyrzik: the Kyrzik are a greedy, avaricious species, intent on acquisition, which drives their expansion into space; despite their greedy(thieving) nature, or because of it, they live by a strict code of conduct.
Step 2: Environment
This may seem a bit backward, I believe you need to decide what environment your species inhabits before the physical details: remember, your species evolved to fit the en

It was a warm and sunny morning in Asgard. The last bits of snow were melting off of the trees and some of the bulbs of the legendary beautiful flowers were peeking through the soil in the gardens of the palace. Birds were singing and the air was sweet. All would appear normal if not extraordinarily well off.
None of this however, was even sensed by the dungeons below the palace. It was dark, aside from the highly illuminated prisoner chambers that lined either side of the pit of Hel under royalty's feet.
Loki was napping, never asleep. Always resting like a cat, able to wake at the smallest minute vibration to his surrounding. But not this day...
The exiled prince was not well. His eyes opened slowly, practically burning his retinas from the intense light of the protective spells keeping him within his chamber. Q

Bucky slides to the edge of the roof first, and allows Steve to help him down. Not that he really needs it, but if letting Steve feel needed makes him feel better, then so be it. He drops silently to the grass, coming smoothly to his feet and glancing up at Steve. Rolling his eyes when Steve does a forward flip off the roof, he knows when his friend is showing off.
"Was that necessary?" Bucky asks trying to hide the amusement in his voice.
"No, but I'm sick of being cooped up, too, y'know." He feels a moment of regret, wondering if that comment would somehow hurt Bucky's feelings. It doesn't appear to, and they re-enter the house in comfortable silence. Ignoring Tony's chiding to hurry up already, they make their way to the stairwell, and Bucky feels his body tense up.

Breakfast passes companionably enough. All of them find ways to cram themselves into the kitchen. Bucky, Steve, and Pepper have taken over the stools, Tony, Bruce, and Sam are all perched on the countertops. No one has any interest in talking, they're all so busy stuffing their faces. Tony jokes about the sheer amount of food Steve and Bucky put away. The moment he does, Bucky stops eating. It takes quite a large amount of verbal abuse thrown at Tony and encouragement directed at Bucky before he starts eating again. Everyone notices the way Bucky keeps glancing at Steve like he's waiting for something.
"Spill it," Tony says around a mouthful of bacon. "What're you hiding Rogers?"
"Nothing," he says with a frown, not sure if he's more concerned about where the question is coming from, or the fact Tony talks with his mouth full. He glances over at Bucky who l

I sat down on the couch in my cozy living room. I groaned. Why does Saturdays afternoons have to be so boring? I picked up the TV remote and went channel surfing. It's pouring rain... All friends are on vacation...Others are at work...Could this day get anymore lonelier? Then, My husband, Clint came in with some scratches and bruises on his body and face. I quickly got up and went to get the first aid kit.
"How did the mission went?" I said.
"Ah, god." He exclaims. "My back hurts. At least we kicked aliens' asses." I opened the kit and started cleaning the cuts on his face. The cuts wasn't crucial. After cleaning up Clint's cuts, I sat with him on the couch, watching Tv.
"This is so boring." I sighed. "This is probably the worst Saturday I've had. Today is too boring" I groaned as Clint puts his arm around me. He kissed my forehead.
"Let's watch a movie." Clint said as he got up to stretch. "Go change into your pajamas, I'll order pizza." He pulled me in for a quick ch

When Steve comes to some time before the sun is up, he shifts closer to Bucky. Half expecting the other soldier to wake, or mumble in his sleep, reality comes crashing down on him when he remembers Bucky won't be waking up. Not for another day or two. He and Hallie hadn't talked the day before, he'd walked into the room, saw her monitoring Bucky and asked her to leave. It hadn't been anything personal, he'd just wanted to sleep. She'd agreed and left unconcerned. Now he wonders if perhaps he should have asked more questions. Or if he should have taken the time to talk about what he can remember of Bucky's symptoms. He's fairly sure the fever is a newer development. Reaching up to check Bucky's cheeks and then forehead, he feels normal enough. He's not sweating or shaking, and his face isn't flushed.
Unable to go back to sleep, Steve looks over at the books Tony and the others put together for Buck

There's a light bandage wrapping Bucky's stump, one that he can get wet and they can change once he's done cleaning up, but that will catch any blood or pus that leaks out. Steve helps him up the stairs, he's really off balance, almost comically so. Once he's up to the top of the stairs, Sam looks at him from the counter where he was sitting with Pepper. "Soups up," he says with a smile.
Nat is next to Bucky's stump, guarding it. There had been some fairly intense bruising and scraping at the end of it where Steve had crushed part of the arm. The guilt was extreme enough without anyone else seeing it or mentioning it.
Pepper watches him limp towards them, wondering what they did to his legs before realizing it's not a true limp. He's just holding one shoulder much higher than the other and it's throwing off his gait entirely. With his hair matted down with sweat and dark circles under his eyes, he looks truly awful. Hiding her face so he won't see her concern, "You want anything

"Is it going to hurt?" Bucky asks, looking at Steve helplessly.
"We don't know," Banner says quietly. Their introduction had been haltingly painful. The other man had refused to shake hands, and had slowly and continually retreated until he was by the window, and Bruce wasn't so sure he wasn't going to bolt. "I can do my best to make sure it doesn't, but you'll actually have to talk to us while we work, or we won't know." The poor man seems so scared. But Bruce can't say as he's surprised.
"Look, if anyone's going to be tinkering with your arm, anyone in the whole world, I promise you that Tony Stark is the man to trust."
"That doesn't reassure me," Bucky says quietly, watching Stark from across the room. He hasn't brought a single implement into the room, because Banner told him getting the patient 'comfortable' was more important that starting to work. It's obnoxious, but since Banner's the humanitarian, Tony lets him take the lead. Steve hasn't been able to move more th

Bucky's screams startle Natasha out of her restive state, slipping off the bed before a random blow kills her. Seeing him thrash like that startles her, but she's not too sure there's not a pattern to it.
"James! James wake up!" she shouts, she doesn't have the strength Steve does to just muscle in and shake him awake. Nor does she have Captain America's healing abilities where she can risk a blow to her person. Clint's in the door, gun sweeping the room before he looks at Natasha, face pained. "Hungry?" he asks, a sad smile on his face when Bucky shakes his head, rubbing hurriedly at his chin. Pulling the scarf off from around his neck he holds it out to Tony, briefly looking it over to make sure he didn't drip any apple juice onto it. "Thanks," Tony tells him, balling up the scarf.
"Thanks for the loan," he mumbles, shrugging out of Clint's jacket and putting it carefully over the back of a chair.
"We made some new friends today," Clint tells Tony casually, watching Bucky carefully bite into his apple. "Four assholes, Buck, you still got those IDs?"
"Hydra," he clarifies around a mouthful of food. Digging out the cards carefully he passes them to Tony who takes them and glances at them.
"Fakes. Not even good fakes."

They both leave, Steve reaching back to hold Bucky's hand and bring him forward, glances around before realizing he doesn't know where to go. Frustrated with himself, he glances around, knowing that his hesitation is going to cost him. Bucky starts to tense back up, and there's nothing Steve can do to stop him. "I just don't remember where the bedroom was, I'm sorry," he says. "After you sleep, if you still want, Pepper said she'd cut your hair," he offers. It's not strictly true, Pepper said after a bath, she would cut his hair. But he highly doubts that she'll really mind letting Bucky sleep first.
"No, cut it...cut it first," he says, face tight. "I...I want to look like Bucky."
And that's what does it. Steve can't stop the tears, so he turns his head away. But you are Bucky, he wants to tell him. He's not trying to refit the Winter Soldier into Bucky's image, he's trying to pull Bucky out of the soldier. And he's not sure how. It'll involve therapy, he knows that. But who

Watching Bucky dry himself off, Steve absently does the same. It hurts him a little to know that his friend still cleans himself in the exact same order and manner as all those months before. And while he knows it shouldn't, knows that something that simple shouldn't bother him, it does. It's as if parts of him still aren't moving forward. Making decisions isn't something the Winter Soldier does, not like that. He has a task, and he completes it. If there's a pre-established routine, he follows it.

About half an hour later Bucky reappears covered in splatters of blood. "Threat neutralized," he tells Steve stiffly.
"What? What threat Bucky? Did you find something? Are you okay? Oh my god is that blood yours?"
"I am uninjured. Ready to proceed."
"Okay, show me." Steve says hesitantly. Bucky's gone, there's nothing in that gaze anymore. None of the warmth and humor he'd been slowly regaining. Sees a slight lift of the chin in acknowledgement and a wave of the arm beckoning them forward, and he and Sam follow.
