Newcomer - Part 4"So where is she?" Applejack asked angrily.
The earth pony, and four of her five closest friends, were all gathered outside the entrance to her barn on the Apple family's land. The feeling in the group was tense, as one of their number was not present, as Applejack was quick to point out.
"Y'all told me she'd be here today."
Rarity spoke up.
"She will be here Applejack. You know Twilight. She'd never miss out on helping you here."
Applejack gave a huff and turned away. Twilight had been arriving late to the group's usual meeting more and more these days. Everyone knew why but no-one was willing to say it. Applejack, never known for being anything but straightforward, decided that enough was enough.
"Look. I know she's got in her head to look after this feller she met, and I respect that. But it's been two weeks now and we still know nothing about him. All we do know is that twilight keeps meeting with him instead of the rest of us."
The rest of the group looked at each other uncomforta
Newcomer - Part 6Dusk approached the front door of Twilight's home and stopped. He'd decided, thanks to Applejack's prompting, that the best way was for him to just come out and say what he wanted to say. If Twilight felt the same way, then great. If not, then he was sure that they were good enough friends by now for it not to make her averse to seeing him. And while that thought was comforting, there was no avoiding the fact that if she DID turn him down, he was going to be shattered.Newcomer - Part 63 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Taking a deep breath, he placed one hoof on the knob of the door and turned, entering the library.
The main room was just as he'd left it this morning. The only difference being that Twilight was now awake and on the other side of the room, reading what appeared to be one of the scrolls that Spike brings up. And speaking of which, a glance around showed no sing of the young dragon. He had no bad feelings towards Spike, but he couldn't help but feel that his absence would make this whole thing easier for him.
As he approa
Newcomer - Part 7The road was far less ornate and clean than the streets of Canterlot, but in truth, the stallion could not help but like it. Shining Armour, captain of the royal guard, had spent so much time among the pomp and pristine in the capital, that this more rural environment was very much a breath of fresh air for him.Newcomer - Part 73 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Even though he'd been offered the use of one of the official chariots, he'd declined, instead preferring to walk the distance to his sister's new home town. Ponyville. He'd never actually set hoof in the place before, although he'd heard much of it from his sister's letters. He was looking forward t seeing each other again. This would have been the first time the two would have laid eyes on each other since his wedding. Far too long.
Looking behind him, Shining's eyes met that of his companions. A few steps behind him were two of the royal guards, both unicorns.. Under normal circumstances they would have been his subordinates. Today thought, they were his protection. Although
Newcomer - Part 1He traced his finger along the lines of books before him. As usual, this search for one specific book was taking him a fair amount of time. But, given his role as "number one assistant", he never chose to simply give up on the task at hand.Newcomer - Part 13 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
And this was an attitude which served the young dragon well, because sure enough, he soon found what he was looking for. "Medicines and remedies volume 3". As happy as Spike was that he found it, he simply hoped that it would do what the unicorn below was hoping it would. he slid down the ladder and turned around, holding up the book as he did so.
"Hey Mom! I found it!"
The purple unicorn before him turned from her own book and smiled. Using her magic, Twilight Sparkle levitated the tome from Spike's hands and brought it towards her.
"Thanks Spike. All we need now is to find out which ingredients we need." She said enthusiastically.
Spike grabbed a nearby gemstone from a bowl on the table and began munching on it. He walked behind the mare and peeke
Newcomer - Part 2Using her magic, she carefully ground the pollen she'd collected in her mortar. As Spike looked on, she levitated the other ingredients needed to make the mixture. It was fortunate that Zecora had one of these things lying around, or else Twilight would never have had the proper equipment.Newcomer - Part 23 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Looking at the mixture in the bowl, Twilight soon smiled and nodded. Spike knew her well enough to know that meant that she was satisfied with it. He then looked on as she levitated the mixture from the bowl and into a nearby thermos, presumably to carry it to Pinkie Pie.
"Alright Spike. That should do it. With luck Pinkie should be up and about in no time." She said confidently.
Spike smiled. He was glad to hear that. Things had been much less fun around her without Pinkie's constant boundless optimism. He walked over to the door of their home and opened it for them. Twilight walked through and Spike closed the door behind them. They made their way towards Sugar Cube Corner, where Pinkie lived.
Newcomer - Part 3"I promise you, everything's going to be fine." She said reassuringly.Newcomer - Part 33 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Twilight was walking down the main street of Ponyville, with Dusk walking alongside her. The doctors at the hospital had given him a complete look-over and deemed him fit to leave. Twilight had been pleased to hear that, although it would have been nice to hear some information about why his memory was missing, something the doctors had been completely flummoxed by.
Still, they have to be thankful for small favours, and so here they were, walking back towards Twilight's home. Dusk, despite having become more used to being around other ponies in his time at the hospital, was still wary of the ponies of Ponyville as they walked past. Many of them, not recognising the new arrival, began whispering amongst themselves as the two of them passed.
"Um...Twilight? I think they're staring at me." Dusk said nervously.
Twilight looked over at the various ponies looking their way and then gave Dusk another smile.
"It's okay. The
Newcomer - Part 5His neck still felt a bit uncomfortable, but he'd recently been able to discard his bandages. Dusk was sitting at his desk in Twilight's home, the orange glow of a nearby candle providing all the light he needed, pouring through an old book. He loved it.
He'd tried out may of these spell for himself, and although his talent was nowhere near as refined or impressive as twilight's he still prided himself whenever he managed to pull something off. As for this particular spell-book, it was an older copy of one of Twilight's favourites, teleportation. It was a concept that fascinated him. Being able to transport yourself instantly from one place to another. It was something he looked forward to doing for himself.
Overall, Dusk was pretty happy with how his life had been turning out. Ponies liked him now, he'd made many new friend

She and three of her friends, Rarity, Pinkie pie and Fluttershy, were all waiting on the outskirts of the Everfree forest, waiting for a sign from their fifth companion. It had been almost an hour since she set off and still there was no word.
Rarity meanwhile decided to voice her concerns.
"Applejack, we have to be calm about this. Rainbow and the other pegasi of the weather patrol will do all they can. They can cover far more ground than any of us. If they find something I'm sure they'll let us know."
Applejack shook her head upon hearing this. Clearly she was unconvinced. She merely kept pacing up and down for the next few minutes until finally they got what they were waiting for. Fluttershy pointed up to the sky above the forest and everyone looked where she was pointing.
There was a squad of half a dozen pegasi, led by Rainbow Dash, all flying back to their group as fast as their wings would carry them. They
Newcomer - Part 10Even considering how long she'd been here, Twilight still couldn't get used to her surroundings. The cold dark stone and constantly dripping water from above. The place was not somewhere she or anyone else would willingly choose to go. But here she was all the same. A prisoner of her most dangerous enemies. Deprived of her magic and rendered utterly helpless as a result.Newcomer - Part 103 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
All she could think about at this time was her brother. When last they'd met, she had been approached by two of the changeling drones and had the goo removed from her body. Once she was free of it she immediately tried resisting them. But all that accomplished was that two more had shown up and restrained her even further. Like it or not, she and her brother were right in the belly of the beast here. There was nowhere they could go and nothing they could do that wouldn't just result in swarms of their enemies bearing down upon them.
Once it was understood that she could not resist them, Twilight had gone along with the

That was all she could experience. It had happened so fast. She and her brother had been running down the escape tunnel of the changeling hive. Then it happened. The explosion. It started out as just a loud noise from far behind them. Back where Dusk had been. Then it soon became a shockwave that blasted the pair of them forward. Then nothing.
Whatever had happened, it had knocked her out cold. But, ever so gradually, she began to regain her senses, starting with her hearing, as evidenced by the sound of voices around her.
"Twilight! Captain! Your majesties! They're over here!"
She did not recognise the voice, a problem only made worse by her hearing being rather muffled at this time. But as the seconds passed, it became clearer and clearer. And just in time too, because she began to hear a much more familiar voice.
"Get the medics at once!"
That was a vo
Newcomer - Part 8All she saw was darkness. No noise. No light. Nothing. It was like being asleep. A dreamless sleep. The last thing she remembered was Dusk charging towards her and her brother, and then there was a flash of green light, then nothing.Newcomer - Part 83 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
It was a voice. A familiar voice. It was her brother! He was calling her! Using what little strength she possessed, Twilight began to open her eyes. Her vision was blurry at first, as one would expect from somepony who'd been asleep for a while. But that was not the strange part. The strange part was that she could not move. Try as she might, Twilight could not even budge an inch.
Once some time had passed, her vision became clearer, although her first sight made her wish it hadn't.
She was in a dark and damp cave chamber of some sort. Not a massive one but large enough for a few ponies to stand on top of each other before they reached the ceiling. The walls were dark in colour and the whole room was filled with a cold and spiteful air.

Celestia's Stand and Forgotten Foes
Noon, the eclipse just reached the center of the sky and Celestia stood at the center of the battle field with her fifty troops waiting for Commander Bolt’s next move. Commander Bolt stood at the top of the hill with his officers looking down into the battle field with disappointment. He was hoping that they would have left during the night but now he had no choice but to fight. A phoenix flew from Princess Celestia and landed in front of him, “Ah Philomena It’s been a while, do you have a message from Princess Celestia?”
Philomena nodded her head and dropped a scroll on the ground before flying back to princess Celestia. Commander Bolt looked at the scroll and unrolled it. The massage read,

Commander Bolt dunked his sharpening stone into a bowl of water then answered. “Granted.”
Captain Stone entered the hut, “Commander I came to report that Lieutenant Snow has just left with the Prisoners to the main prison on the center of the Everfree Forest.”
Commander Bolt continued sharpening the blade on his shield and replied, “Thank you for the report, how are the wounded?”
Captain Stone lowered her head, “Of the total we had earlier, six more died an hour ago, three will die within the next few hours, and its estimated ten more will be lost before tomorrow morning.”

Captain Stone replied, “They’re Zebra.”
Commander Bolt was confused, “Zebra? But what would an army of zebra be doing in Equestria? Do you have a count?”
Captain Stone nodded her head, “Approximately seven hundred sir, they’re setting up camp as we speak.”
Commander Bolt felt annoyed with the situation, “They match us in numbers and they plan to stay a while, this isn’t g

As Princess Celestia stood next to Commander Bolt, she too bowed in respect to the small memorial. One by one, the soldiers who were accompanying them started to bow in respect for the fallen Commander. When they rose, Princess Celestia asked Commander Bolt, “What does the red cloth stand for?”
Commander Bolt replied, “Passion, it was a gift from Gem Stone. She… she liked to wear a color that would symbolize her mood for the day’s events. That day we were setting off for Cloudsdale. I guess she was feeling passionate that day.”
“What does pink mean then?”
Commander Bolt lowered his head, “Pink… was her favorite color, she wore it when she wanted to look her best… or when the day was going to hold a special occasion. I guess she was expecting

Commander Orem laughed, “Well if you want to face me you might need a weapon first.”
Commander Bolt replied, “I don’t need one to take you on, besides, it’s being repaired right now, but just to be ready…”

Princess Celestia replied, “It’s nothing, gather your forces on the main road and attack the advancing enemy in the city. Also, have the catapult teams abandon their posts. Star Bolt watched the ponies of Equestria as they were getting everything ready for the celebration in a town called Ponyville. Commander Bolt took the sheet of paper and looked over it, then he looked at the shop owner, “This seems a little low, you have to take in account that each usable weapon has been refurbished by Hooviet Union blacksmiths. Don’t you think you should add an extra three thousand bits?”
