So for some reason, I woke up at 6:00am, despite the fact that I only went to bed at 1am. I thought about going back to sleep, but I'm so rarely up in time for sunrises that I couldn't resist the inner voice. I headed over to Gerrringong, 10 minutes up the road from my house, to the boat harbour and the ocean pool. I was set up about 25 minutes before sunrise and got some shots of the sun emerging over the pacific. But the nicest shots of the day were when I turned my back on the sunrise and starting photographing the swell on the rocks. I love how the rising sun's lit up the spray on the left and the rocks on the right. Hope you dig it too.

The sea caves at Snapper Point in the Jervis Bay Marine Park are made from 280million year old rock and are home to seals and penguins.

The little white dot over on the left is the local whale watching boat full of tourists checking out the humpbacks which are currently on their seasonal migration.
