Retreating to the isolation inside my room
curling up in a blanket of misery
Memories replay and corrupt my peaceful slumber
"You're not good enough."
"You disgust me."
"Nobody cares about you."
Tears stream down my mask
The negative thoughts have made the positive evanesce
I just want to be left

I've said my goodbye and I've ripped off my wings
It hurts my heart but I need to get over these feelings
I've suffered for so long under your reign
and I think it's about time that I end all this pain
I'm starting my journey into the begotten future
To find all the missing pieces of my heart that I need to nurture
I'll have to search far and wide and it make take a few years
but I'll grow as a person and face many of my fears
As I slowly grow older and farther from you
I'll never forget our memories and the day that you knew
that I was too much for you or maybe to little
and decided to leave me behind and not to dwindle
Sometimes I may stumble and cry out your name
but don't come back and re-spark the flame
I need to move on, we were suffocating each other anyway
From now on it will be only myself telling me "It's okay"

We were walking through the jungle. And came upon a vast clearing. 60 feet across. Fearing the dangers of the dark jungle, I decided to lead the team into the clearing to make our camp. We reached the center and began to pitch our tents. Mind you it was pitch black, but for our lanterns. Dead of night with barely a sliver of moon.
Never truly relaxed, I still felt a certain degree of reassurance. I felt this place would be safe. It wasn't until we got the fire going that I felt something watching us. I kept stealing glances into the murky darkness of the jungle that surrounded us. Under our chatter and the clatter of pots, I could hear a dark murmuring. As the meal came to a close, I put my back to the fire. When my colleagues asked why, I bluffed them. I told them my back was cold and I wished to warm it be

I see upon a hill,
the setting sun, fleeing from the night...
The moon coming above that horizon for the kill,
to rise and banish to darkness all light.
Though time brushes over creation,
I live on, a slave to immortality.
Though I was the choser of my own damnation,
Twas humanity that was the cause of my brutality.
Now the world around me decays,
unlike my flesh and mind...
Time has left my future in a haze,
and the changing world has been unkind.
I see upon a hill, but another slope downward,
where the pointless journey continues on...
unto to no end is my existence forever moving forward
Nostalgia is dead, as my past is forever gone.

I feel ice in my bones,
And heat does not exist in this frozen home.
It's been absorbed by the ghosts,
Who incidentally at most,
Live in my mind like a subordinate host.
My emotions have been irreversibly worn.
And this darkening mood has no tangible form,
Other than these tears I adorn.

I am painting the bathroom and the radio
playing the morning classical music show
is in the bedroom. The announcer's words
are not clear but I hear her tone of voice
and she sounds concerned - her tone says,
"Are you listening? Do you hear me say
every European name correctly?
Do you know that this music so many
consider dull is fine music and exactly
what you should be listening to?"
But today the music is dull, it is virtuosity
whose only aim is to fly through harmony
as fast and precisely as possible. A clarinet
does so in one piece, a flute in the next.
These composers had feelings but did not use
music to express them - and so it is
exactly what to listen to, for my task
is not to express my feelings as I mask
the mirror's edge with tape pressed tight -
I am only trying to get it right.

"Ich habe eine problem." Aliah sat in her room trying to figure out what to do next. She walked over to her bedroom mirror and glared at the reflection. It was a girl with dark brown hair, brown eyes, snake bites, fair skin, and thin. Very Thin. "I'll never fit it in," she mumbled to herself as she punched the reflection right in the face. Glass went flying everywhere as she heard foot steps running up the staircase. It was her oh-so-loving mother. "Is everything okay in there," her mother yelled. The door flung open and Aliah was standing there watching the blood drip from her fingers to the carpet. "Oh Honey..," her mother said slowly, "I'll go get your father to come help pick this up. Why don't you go ahead and clean yourself up." Aliah headed slowly towards her bathroom as her mother went downstairs. She shut the door quietly behind her and locked it. As she washed her hands and picked out the lil glass shards, she heard her parents arguing in a low-voice abou

Winter's NightShould I compare you to a summer's day;Winter's Night7 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
A bright, blinding beauty of December?
No, rather the wetter nights of May,
With raindrops running down tempered glass.
Red lights falling past reveal the wet;
the drops making their way to the ground.
One star emerges and my eyes are set,
The world is lit by this otherworldly sun.
The star draws me into a fantasy night;
A world of dark brightness throughout.
A beacon is centered, unexpected twilight,
Hearts of millions sigh to pure beauty.
In a heartbeat, the star is now behind;
A world vanishes, and the night is black.
A sigh to pure beauty that I'll not find,
My heart of millions entrapped in your dark.

How you taunt me,
With your fiendish taste,
Your devilish charms,
I could eat a thousand,
Of your brothers and sisters,
But still, crave just one more,
In fact just the thought,
Of your scrumptious taste,
Sends me into a frenzy,
An addiction I cannot stop,
So, I'm afraid to tell you that,
You are my next on my list,
Oh large delicious cookie.

You are lovely through and through,
And no one can take that away from you."

Entranced by the moon I silently pulled up the edge of the duvet

"Uhh that Sophie, she's such a bloody lesbian, I swear!!"
It was Sam I tried to ignore him but then I hear:
"I mean seriously she hangs around with 2 Bisexuals and a Gay so she may as well be!"
THAT. WAS. IT. I lift my head up.
"What did you just say?" I say straight to Sam.
"What's it to you?" He replies bitterly
"Well, Firstly she's my friend not yours and secondly, SHE. IS. NOT. A. LESBIAN."
I hear cautious murmurs from around me as Sam's face begun to pale. I jumped off of my stall and walked over to him.
"What you gonna do about it? I'm not scared of you; you may be older but I'm way taller"
This was true but I
