a new addition to Benjamin's death sceneI kind of like it, but I'd like some opinions on it.a new addition to Benjamin's death scene1 year ago in Personal More Like This
He cringed as he breathed and I suddenly felt the need to scream at somebody, at anybody. I needed someone else to blame beside the Führerbesides myself.
"Don't cry," he whispered, touching my face.
I smeared the tears away with the back of my hand. "Why, Benjamin? Why ever shan't I cry?"
"Because " he averted his eyes for a moment, looking almost guilty. "It may sound mad, but I feel I feel as though it was always meant to end this way I was born to die."
The Waters of MarchTHE WATERS of MARCH ~by Antonio Carlos JobimThe Waters of March2 months ago in Personal More Like This
"A stick, a stone, it's the end of the road It's the rest of a stump, it's a little alone It's a sliver of glass, it is life, it's the sun It is night, it is death, it's a trap, it's a gun The oak when it blooms, a fox in the brush A knot in the wood, the song of a thrush The wood of the wind, a cliff, a fall A scratch, a lump, it is nothing at all It's the wind blowing free, it's the end of the slope It's a beam it's a void, it's a hunch, it's a hope And the river bank talks of the waters of March It's the end of the strain The joy in your heart The foot, the ground, the flesh and the bone The beat of the road, a slingshot's stone A fish, a flash, a silvery glow A fight, a bet the fange of a bow The bed of the well, the end of the line The dismay in the face, it's a loss, it's a find A spear, a sp

Hello, I stumbled across this drawing today. It is difficult to describe but I really love the overall appearance of this work. I can tell that the proportions are a bit off, but honestly that is part of the charm. I love the quirkiness of the character that is depicted as well as the beautiful texture. It isn't perfect, but I always believed that beauty is found in imperfection. We even establish our own identity as an artist through our mistakes and our technique, which is why I truly love traditional art. Here the artist's style shines brightly. Much like our own fingerprints that are unique to the individual, so too is the art we create. We each have something to share. Thank you for sharing my friend.
Her is a a short suggestion that I believe will help you just a bit.
My Critique: One thing that bothers me is the frame. I feel like you could crop the bottom of the composition off to get rid of that empty space. The empty white space at the bottom feels

Hi friends, I just wanted to give you a little update about why you haven't seen any new art lately...
In the middle of some health issues, I have been working on my latest painting that is almost half way finished. It's been a little challenging since I haven't painted the said subject before, and I had to work out a lot before hand (not giving anything away, can't you tell...hahaha) But, to give you a little hint Its what cats love to eat a lot of, given the chance

A Gifted Talent XIV...TriciaDear friends of the arts please allow me to introduce to you Patricia (Tricia) and her wonderful works of art.A Gifted Talent XIV...Tricia3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Some of you may already know of Tricia's work but for those of you who don't...you should. She is a lovely artist in all aspects of that word including a generous heart. She I can humbly say is an Artist, Humorist, Art Lover and Friend.
Tricia is an artist from the United Kingdom and to me her work is intelligent, pretty, psychedelic and very well done. I feel her style is unique. It has all the earmarks of being a signature look developed within her creative soul. Again I must admitt I am not qualified to go into the techniques of her mixed media process on many of her works. Her traditional paintings are splendid. All her work seems rooted in watercolor...one of my favorite mediums to view.
Trica's work is exemplary in my honest opinion and I am proud to present it here.
I hope you can afford the time to visit Tricia's gallery...and to drop a comment there, as well as here,

What I'm Working On (wip)In case anyone is wondering what I'm working on...What I'm Working On (wip)1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Here is the 'unfinished' project, I hope to have it finished soon. The top still needs to be painted. Thought I would share this really 'poor' quality video for you all you doods, and ladies! :iconyay:
Tomorrow I have to make a base for this out of a wooden log. I'm going to get out the 'chainsaw' (yes chainsaw) and hack the log into the shape I want. Then drill a hole in it. The whole thing will sit on a lazy susan so that I can spin it round and see it from all angles easily. Please wish and pray for my safety when I'm using this very dangerous piece of machinery! (I will have adult supervision! Even though I am an adult myself!)
The happy music is to make up for my lack of smiling!

Step 1- Finish drawing
Step 2- Look at drawing right away- sit back and appreciate what you've done- become very pleased with yourself while feeling a sense of accomplishment- give yourself a thumbs up/ pat yourself on the back (warning- must be flexible)
Step 3- Walk away for a moment, feeling really good about yourself. Watch some TV- take a break.
Step 4- Get bored.
Step 5- Start thinking about drawing again.
Step 6- Walk back into drawing room- Begin staring at drawing, nitpicking at every little detail, critiquing every detail.
Step 7- 3 Hours later you realize you've been sitting there for 3 hours.
Step 8- Get sick of staring at drawing- eyes hurt from staring at your computer for too long. Become agitated and annoyed. Headache ensues.
Step 9- Start to hate drawing because you've been staring at it all day.
Step 10- Take 2 tablets of extra strength Tylenol.
Step 11- Try to draw something better. Something so epic i
