Sins of an ArtistI've been under fire recently for having the audacity to admit publicly that improving my art has never been, and never was, an ultimate goal of mine. Apparently that's like committing some sort of mortal sin in the art community. I've had trouble expressing myself about it too, because brushing off improvement for improvement sake makes me look like I'm uncaring, egocentric, and stubborn. But after a recent post I was given much more clarity in understanding the issue and I wanted to share my thoughts with you.Sins of an Artist4 years ago in Personal More Like This
In the recent exchange I was basically told this: "If doing what you love isn't about dedicating your life to improving your art, you aren't an artist."
Maybe I'm old fashioned, but making art has never been solely about the technical expertise. Even in college, outside the handful of foundation courses you take in freshman year, perfection of the craft is often secondary to concepts and ideas and your ability to evoke feelings and emotions in your audience.

So, BootFighter Windom XP sp-2 and Ultimate Knight WindomXP are very similar, but BootFighter Windom is free while UKW is the updated version has more stuff in it.
To make a pilot for BootFighter Windom XP sp-2/Ultimate Knight WindomXP you need:
1. A picture of your Character (Any random character will do)
and that's it...
But that's too dull and boring...
you need some life in your character too!
You will need:

25 Things I learned being a Comic Artist in 2011The following list contains intense amounts of SARCASM for the purpose of satire and humor.25 Things I learned being a Comic Artist in 20114 years ago in Personal More Like This
1. Never offer artistic advice or hint at the possibility that the way young and inexperienced groups of artists work might in some way be flawed.
2. Every comic must be inherently drawn better and be funnier than the last.
3. Humor is NOT relative/subjective.
4. Nothing is funny. Ever.
5. Even the most trivial aspects of your comic must be taken 100% seriously.
6. Failure to incorporate conflicting suggestions for improvement = incapable of accepting criticism.
7. Trying to quelch flame wars also inexplicably = incapable of accepting criticism.
8. Trying to explain your artistic decisions = incapable of accepting criticism.
9. Having lots of watchers = having an inflated ego.
10. Reaching the frontpage = getting Daily Deviation.
11. Every character you draw (even ones you do for commission/jobs) = your personal opinions and beliefs which you must obviously follow rigidly IRL.
12. Never change y

Living Rainbow Taking Flight
The vibrant digital paintings of alicexz are fiery, emotional, and incredibly memorable.
The colors of her creations (mostly portraits of popular TV and Film characters) are unusually vibrant, which is remarkable considering how layered they appear to be. It’s sort of like what manga characters might look like if painted by one of the Dutch Masters. And this artist exhibits just the right amount of quirkiness to leave us wanting to know more: she has a penchant for painting redheads. But, then of course, there’s a lot of red and golden fire burning through most her artworks.

Just a month ago, I created my Facebook Page to promote my DeviantArt and to share my arts there. :bademoticon:
Upon creation, I invited ALL of my friends to check the page and asked them to like it if it deserves one.
It was a good feeling that some liked it... I'm not mad because I only got 17/300+ excluding my relatives...
(I don't add random people on facebook. Which means they're all my ex-classmates, friends from other place, etc.)
It's just that... :bademoticon:
Few weeks later a friend asked me: "Are those your drawings? I thought they were someone else's."
*silence* I mean, I was posting/sharing arts saying "I just finished drawing."/"It took me hours to finish."/etc.
I was unsure if should answer them nicely or sarcastically... I mean, don't the

Some Household changes...Sooooo my friends, I got me some news for y'all! Some Household changes...5 months ago in Personal More Like This
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for their support and for liking my work, it makes me feel part of a bigger whole and that is a pretty amazing feeling all in of itself.
So, I decided to amp up the experience a good bit lately. I'm currently working to get my deviantpage done in such a fashion that it'll end up looking real snazzy when its done. Ofcourse, a stream of mocs is also still very much in the running ;D
What will be new however, are two things that both boil down to the same thing; I want to improve the contend I put out aswell as diversify more, and this will be done in two particulary noticeable ways for you, the people reading this.
1: My art will diversify. I do plan on uploading my (admittedly crappy) drawn artwork on here, for the sake of doing the same thing as I did so many years ago with moccing; improving and improving.
2: EDIT EDIT EDIT: We're gonna make it all a big freaking party, but gonna stay righty wher
Blah blah blah Fish tacosHeya guys, I feel like there needs to be an update. I haven't written a journal in quite some time so lets talk. What's up? how have you been?Blah blah blah Fish tacos5 months ago in Personal More Like This
There's been all kinds of weird things happening this summer. Some good, several bad. The good things you guys all already know about, more free time = more MOCs. and MAN my Youtube channel has taken off like a rocket! I've doubled my subscriber count in the last 2 months. It's kind of insane really. Also being able to go visit ClockworkTempest00 a bunch is a bonus.
However, I'm sad to report that despite this, things have been going pretty downhill for me. For example, since last academic year I was struggling with depression and anxiety, My GPA plummeted, and unfortunately that resulted in me losing my financial aid. What this means for me?.. I'm not too sure yet. As much as I'd prefer getting a job over getting a degree, I unfortunately have no choice but to attend school. So for next semesters tuition... I'll have to figure something ou

At 12:00 I will be standing around the entrance of the intertoys lego store situated in the convention, wherever it may be this year. No maps have been released.
I will be standing around there for 30 minutes before I leave. Since there is only a small chance of any of you guys actually going.
I will bring Detox and Shredder, and a requested moc by vote for those whom are going. And they will be mentioned in the first video that comes after I went to legoworld.
I Await you my friends.

I know most of them its for personal reasons or maybe it was because people on the internet were buggin them but its weird because most of them are really amazing and talented people and it just sucks to see them leave. I hope they're at least still doing what they love, even if they aren't posing it cus sometimes the internet can be a jerk or if real life is trying to take them away from it. That's what I do on my down days anyway, just doodle things that are just complete random and just for practice or things you wanna make for personal use.
I think everyone has the right to just express what they love in whatever fashion they please and noone should be uninspired to do it.
Don't let the man get ya down.
Do practice what you love no matter what.
[also sorry about the lack of art, I've been doing some personal draws like draws of real people and stuff. and i don

I the Nerubian AssasinI just got to mention it, yesterday, my performance with Anub'Arak was flawless, my companion were deeply impressed by my way of playing so I earned their respect as a team member, more than ever.I the Nerubian Assasin7 years ago in Personal More Like This
Another victory :iconyeahplz:
Now, I'll put some info of the lovely Bettle that has maked me feared by our foes and praised by our allies.
Anub'arak was once the greatest champion of the Nerubians, but fell in the Second War of the Spider. He was resurrected by the Lich King Ner'zhul, who promised him eternal undeath in exchange for his unswerving loyalty. His layers of spiked armor are nearly impregnable, causing severe damage to attackers. When threatened, he shoots these spikes through enemies maiming and disorienting them. He channels his dark powers into a bolt of disarming negative energy, and those who witness him blending into the shadows of the frozen tundra have never lived to tell the tale.
In other news, I regained my net on the job, maybe it's true, I got to "EARN" my shield

What Spyro's Kingdom WasWe finally have visual of what the first game concept of what Spyro's Kingdom looked like. What Spyro's Kingdom Was4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Apparently, this game was originally going to be a MMORPG, in the Legend of Spyro-themed universe. The Portal of Power is mentioned, and we were going to have to use toys to play as our dragon characters in the game world. And just like Spyro's Universe, we customize our lairs. This game idea was proposed to Activision, but it was rejected.

Updates for April 1stLooks like my April Fools joke went over pretty well. I was quite surprised to see the response, honestly! Was it the most original prank in the books? Absolutely not, but considering that I usually ignore April Fools Day and that people STILL believed it, I think it's alright. Sometimes the oldest jokes are the best and it's not like this was a contest trying to outdo everyone around me. Just having some fun for a change, which is something I need to do more often.Updates for April 1st4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Also, it shows how many people actually followed the link. Anyone who read the journal and followed the link to the trolololo song would've known it was a joke. But it seems a LOT of people didn't bother doing that, hehe.
Speaking of April Fools though, did you know that it was 4 years ago today that I began the Alex Ze Pirate web series? April 1st, 2008 was the day I began posting short one page gags involving my pirate characters on SheezyArt. It's kinda hard to believe it's only been 4 years as so much has happened since
Mini ReviewsLately there've been a number of TV shows and other nerdy things I've been meaning to get into but just haven't had the time. Today I'm just gonna give my first impressions of a couple of them. Keep in mind that aside from relative familiarity, I know pretty much nothing about all these series, so if I sound harsh I hope you can forgive me!Mini Reviews4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Game of Thrones
I've been hearing so much about this series and how amazing it is. I know that the actor Peter Dinklage has received a number of awards for his performance. I also know that HBO tends to do really good series from time to time. So I had expectations that this was also going to be good.
First 5 minutes. Yeah it was good. Everything after that? Eehh...
Granted now, I've only seen the first episode, but honestly the first episode should really HOOK you into the series. Start off with a bang to get you psyched then spend the rest of the series building up the characters and making us care about them, ending with a great climax mak
MCBA Spring Con 2012 AftermathWhile MCBA was lots of fun like it always it, this year it seemed a bit quieter for some reason. Business was quite good on Saturday, but on Sunday it died off quite a bit.MCBA Spring Con 2012 Aftermath4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I got to meet a lot of fans from DA, and one group in particular (dressed as homestuck trolls no less) even gave me a tiny fluttershy figurine! That was really cute, thank you!
I had a lot of sketch cards on Saturday, ending with me running out of paper. When I came back on Sunday I brought extra just in case, but found I didn't need it. Sunday was pretty dead and while I got a few orders early in the day, I didn't sell more than that.
Pretty cool that this year they had the ECTO1 from Ghostbusters there. In the past they've always had the Batman mobiles or the Delorean from Back to the Future, so being able to see the ECTO1 was a nice change of pace.
I talked with a guy for almost 2 hours on animation history and Disney, which was a lot of fun. I also go to give some advice on how to get rid of those "artifacts" th
