Original design for Gundam Wing: The Sword. Here is the profile:
Gemini MD Role: Space Type Mobile Doll Features: Mobile DOLL System Armaments: Heavy machinegun x1, Heat saber x1, Shield x1 Options: Beam rifle, Beam saber Description:
The Gemini is a mobile doll type mobile suit designed to be mass produced in great numbers. As such, it has bare minimum armor and equipment, usually sporting no beam weapons. Later in the war, most units are not even painted upon completion. While it can operate in many environments, it is primarily a space-borne MS, having no feet in place of simple landing gears on its legs. Due to its extreme light weight, its mobility is greater than that of a Taurus.
The frame of the Gemini MD is fairly poor, unable to handle well the recoil of the powerful machinegun it wields, and it is easily overpowered in physical strength. The Gemini overcomes its weaknesses with great numbers and is always found working in squads. There are some battles in which they outnumber enemy units 100 to 1.
The MD combat computer employed in each unit is fairly poor, with logic and reaction time not significantly greater than that of an average human pilot. Often, squads of Gemini are controlled by a master unit with a more powerful computer or by a commander type mobile suit with ZERO system. Squads can often be incapacitated by destroying the commanding unit and severing the control link to the slave units. Late in the war, the MD combat computer is improved to allow for more autonomy and greater performance. Later units are also equipped with beam weapons. Squads can become extremely dangerous when a skilled ZERO system user assumes command.
*EDIT* It's not much, but I darkened the mid ground a little. Until I learn more efficient techniques for digital work, that's about what I can do.
Finally! Background could have been better, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.
This is a pic of a battlefield that has been "broken" (i.e. battle lines have blurred into one big mess.) Faction units (in green) fighting Federation units (in desert paint.) In the background you see some Federation missileers and in the far back, one of the main assault platforms and its compliment of mecha.
The title comes from "ace" pilots -those who have earned a name on the battlefield. Hiro groups aces into two categories: "runners" and "shooters." Runners employ exceptional maneuverability, and often specialize in melee tactics, while shooters are highly flexible and accurate with firearms. Typically each ace has a little of each in them. Hiro is THE ace of the Federation. Kana is a runner ace, and Eric is a shooter ace. None of them appear in this picture though.
Oh and something I never mentioned -The Federation refers to the Faction as simply that, or the full name, the "Red Seal Faction." The Faction military and the citizens in Faction-controlled territories refer to themselves as the "Red Seal Republic." Just in case anyone wondered what "RSR" meant on the mech in the foreground.
Also, I realized earlier that I gave an overestimation of size for the mecha in "Dream" -based on my original mechanical designs and the fact that I actually did some approximate measuring, the mechs are around 28 meters tall, not 40.
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju.
On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
Haven't really drawn anything in a while so I hunkered down and this is the result.
Taking a look at Yuki's sword, I felt it would look kinda small and out of place when he is in his "Armor" mode. So I decided that his sword would also receive a power-up because why not? Besides, it helps to have a big sword character right?
This is the Ring of Earth. I haven't found a name I like for him yet, so if there are any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
His main weapons are the spikes you see on his wrist bracers. Connected to the Atlas Chains, they can be launched with tremendous velocity by channeling the mech's azuthite energy stores into the chains, and forcing them to expand rapidly. This propels them out of their coil chambers, and help the unit grapple objects much larger than itself.
