A second variation of something I made up when I was 7. An earlier version on the original Spheroid. And I must admit, this version seems cooler.

Their final design is about the size of a pea or a marble. It includes a duo-output camera, sturdier shield-like legs, more dynamic folding design, and an external AI (via satellite). They're used as an exploratory probe or a spying device. My childhood imagination of them included a minute gun, for use as a tank against small soldiers, such as ants.

Technical and Historical Notes

The FMM-1X is an experimental MS project, that eventually turned in what is known as the first “Mobile Armor”, term that describes a giant mobile weapon that isn’t antropomorphic in shape. Designed by Ben Greehm and financed by the royal families supporting Xebac, the Nighthawk combines the speed of a space fighter with the versatility of a MS. The complexity and the cost of producing this unit led to Feinsilber almost droping the task, but later reconsidered thanks to Benjamin, who encouraged the engineering team to continue with the prototype. Initially just a MA, until Benjamin realizes that it could hide ms parts in-between the fuselage, that could be conected to joints which could enable the ship to “transform” into a MS. Altough capable of its MS form, the Nighthawk was primarily a space fighter, using its MS mode for special tasks that require interaction with objects. In that cases the MS manipulators come in handy. Other than that, the MS mode is not a good option to fight, in the sense that cannot make use of the machine fullest potential. Its armament was a high output laser cannon(which uses many parts in common with the Kwalen’s rifle) and a set of two heat seekers missile launchers. Both of them could be used in MA or MS mode. The Nighthawk weak arms could only handle small, light weight weapons, therefore was only equipped with a small knife that rarely used. A preproduction of three prototypes was projected, but only two of them were assembled while the unassembled one was used as spare parts source. The MA/MS concept did not catch the developers interest for future investments, and they rather prefered to separate the MA concept from the MS, producing them separately. Despite all of that, Benjamin Greehm was not willing to accept that his concept was a bad idea and was(and sure even is now) looking for investors for an improved version of this experimental craft.

Claiclheamh Soluis Blade a prototype weapon it creates a short solid glowing blade which produces much longer energy wave projection also doubles the power and range unlike the ordinary ones and consumes a lot of energy.


I decided to finish this one :icondetermined-plz: listening to AC4A OST "Remember" [link] motivated me a lot, the song still plays on my mind.

After the last drawing posted on my B-day, I've been working on this Game title with my friend Erik for his NaGaDeMo 2012 challenge. (Basically an indie game event that involved you to build a game from scratch within a month)

So there you go... "Battlesuit". It's a little turn-base strategy game (a bit like Super Robot War in some ways). Game story was about... German Space Nazi Force (from Mars) vs. United Nations Force. The latter faction somehow gained helps from the Jap. According to the setting, Both Axis powers discovered some alien technology and able to build spaceships & robots around the end of WW2. Some of them went to stay in Mars for later re-occupying Earth. For unknown reasons, the Jap side split from the Space Nazi Force and switched sides to fight against its old ally.

Owing to limited times, I only managed to finish some rough game sprites for both German & Japanese mechas. There are at least 4 more units from UNF is not yet depicted.

Anyway, as there're a heavy reference to WW2 and the year setting is around early 1980s, there were some old fashions & styles added onto the robot designs.

About the units (from top to bottom, left to right):
- Viking is a soldier-type mecha. Mostly armed with a mini gun. The rests are attack test poses... pretty rough.
- Valkyrie is the flying unit with lighter armour.
- Poltergiest is the stealth version of Valkyrie.
- Magus is the heavy long range support that arms with a railgun at the back.
- Vahalla is the customized Magus for the big boss. Instead of railgun, this unit possesses 4 mini guns. Shorter barrels but still offensive.
- Stuka is the space version of BF-109. Instead propeller, it is powered by some kind of special alien engine. Also, it has got a pair of strange V-shape tail wings.
- Blitz is a melee robot with jet pack & little pistol.
- Blitz Elite has better flying unit.
- Trident is a special Blitz customized for the "Red Baron" ace pilot clone. Crazy enough it just armed with a sword & a sheild.
- Shogun is the soldier unit for Japanese Space Force. Old machine that has some shared design concepts from Viking.
- Shogun Neko is a customised vesion for the Cat Girl android. With better sensors & a pinky colour scheme.
- Raiden is the flight unit... resembling to a Type-Zero fighter.
- Oni is the heavy long ranger unit. It also arms with a railgun unit.
- Shinobi is the JSF's ultimate melee robot. It's also the main unit used by the game protagonist.

To squeeze more times in between, I did most of the drafting & rough shading with my iPod Touch. The final vesions were mostly touched up at Artweaver Plus on desktop. Results... amazing.

Anyway, now I could go back to do other drawing project. :)
