~leoshades asked for a step by step on how I make things glow in some of my images, so this is what I came up with. There are probably more efficient ways of doing it... but this is easiest for me.

Here's round one of my WIP of the New Girls of Gaming cover. I'll be doing a podcast this week going step by step on the specifics but basically im doing 3 things here.

1.) Design new Logo - This is the ruff version, I have a finished more refined ready to go now, just not on these pics.

2.) Get layout Approved - That's the Black and White steps, shows my boss where I am going and gets the OK. Takes like 15-30 min. No hurry.

3.) Color Ruff - I design my color schemes at this phase, helps define the goal quicker, lets the licensor (NAMCO) know where I am going, and eliminates headaches after the art is drawn. I used to just go right and draw it, then "figure out" the color, but I found it counter intuitive that way. I'll explain more in the cast.

More updates tomorrow. Now I draw.

At this stage I added color to begin to define the details. Some authors like grayscale depth leaving the drawing almost finished but I am not convinced because the color is too poor. For me it is not the same a colored image that a painted a picture, this picture is a digital painting, not a digital colored drawing.

After the initial basis of color, begin to shape the body (chest, chest, abdominal, material, etc ...). The black line shows the folds of fabric.

Often working on illustrations that end up in the trash. Most people publish only material that can claim, but many times we were wrong and needlessly working on illustrations that have problems and we can not fix, you can jam with your hands, face, with lighting, disproportions, imbalances , etc.

I will explain the process of an illustration that is not finished and not whether or not end well. My desire is to show the evolution of the illustration with all the errors that I can find and we will be discussing (if someone wants to criticize not cut).

This is the first approach is based on a photograph but do not want to be a copy so from it deformaré to take my spot.

One hand rests on a globe and the other holding something that I have no idea what it is, but I like the pose, so I go thinking about how to solve their hands and bring them into a kind of action. I'd like to blow soap bubbles, but I'm not sure if it will work.

The starting point is a neutral gray base to later add light and shadow.
