Chapter 13 Calm before the storm.
"You should have stayed with the target! Because of this the assassin is now gone and Abstergo expect us to pick up the pieces!" Randell yelled at Cross from across his large desk, Cross himself didn't so much as flinch at the others rage, he stood there like he was made of stone strong and resolute.
"I have no excuses sir, once the assassin was within the compound and they strapped him to that machine, I figured they didn't need me any further I should have known better, that the assassin would escape and that Zeus would come after him" Cross said softly as he watched the General pace back and forth in agitation "What do we do now?"
"I don't know" Randell said sounding exasperated as he fell into his large chair with a sigh "According to the reports, Altair didn't have what Abstergo wanted and their other escapee Desmond Miles is now missing, we know he's within the city but other than that we have no clues... we have to suspect that Zeus

Hiding under beds,
peeking through windows.
Chasing after young ones
never sleeping, ever going.
Never more than a step away
hot breath mingling in the air.
and razor sharp teeth,
children wake at night
just to feel the
tug, tug, tug,
at the sheets.
Then the scratch
of claws against flesh.
Muffled screams go unnoticed and unanswered
as the dirty claws dig into skin.
One hand over the mouth of the innocent
and the other going to places it never should.
Then the monster leaves
and behind is a broken soul.
And no one ever knows
the trauma that the monster left behind.

"We're all part of a chain. But sometimes, one part goes missing and a replacement is needed."
Chapter 1: Assault
In search of answers on the mysteries of Captain, Snippy warily snuck through the city, his target within sight. It was one of those days when Captain would decide to go on a long walk alone, then suddenly disappear and not return again until late in the evening. Nobody ever found out what he did or where he went. But this time, Snippy was following him imperceptibly.
Asking never revealed the answers to his questions, for Captain would feign ignorance and simply change the topic to pull his head out of the loop. So now Snippy was on a... discovery mission (which totally didn't count as stalking), close enough to keep the leader in vision and just distant enough to avoid being seen.
At the end of the street, the man in the gray wool

Has the Bio Hazard symbol tattooed on various parts of his body, as well as on several items of clothing. He does this as a joke, apparently, to annoy Bones.
Psychological Notes: After much observation, it has been deduced that Frigate shows symptoms of Psychopathy, and it has been accepted that he is a Clinical Psychopath. Psychopathy is a personality disorder that has been various

A Little Help - 01The rain wasn't helping the situation. It was bad enough that Loopa's ear piece wasn't waterproof, but Shadow was constantly wiping the raindrops from his visor. He glanced back at her, only to turn away again and sigh as he saw her left eye was still an ellipsis, his fingers drumming on the rail he was leaning against. Tapping his earpiece, he switched between frequencies, listening to the various members of SMILE who were on this mission.A Little Help - 012 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Delta Team were originally set this mission. A routine clear out turned out to be a full on hostage situation. MOLOCH was directly involved, and something like this was just too juicy for Shadow to pass up. When he'd received the call from Loopa, he gathered the best soldiers he could find to help win this fight. There was just one thing that was bugging him.
Loopa had called that soldier Frigate. She knew him, and it was driving Shadow mad just to think that there was something he didn't know. He glanced back one last time, and fortunately she was

Black feathers falling through the empty sky
A whisper upon the winds, better left unspoken
As a glimmer of sunlight catches my eye
I am drawn to the worms that writhe below
Each one pulses with the desire to live
endlessly tunneling through the sands of the earth
With nothing more for them to give
I'm afraid they are quickly eaten...
One, two, three and four
Each one swallowed by an open door
Five, six, seven, eight
They know not love nor petty hate
It makes me wonder if they feel this pain
of being consumed by the one they fear
They sprout and dance in the lovely rain
Not knowing of that which lurks so near

The Realm of Asgard
Thor was now leaving Asgard after visiting his father Odin, who wished to speak with him regarding the mortals that helped saved the nine realms from destruction at the hands of Loki. The conversation between Odin and Thor, like most of their discussions, was very brief and left the Thunder God wondering, for it seemed like Odin knew something that nobody else did and was intentionally hiding it. Thor could only begin to guess what his father was hiding, but whatever it was, it was something that was not meant to be revealed to anyone at this particular point of time.
He could only hope that whenever this secret was, it would be revealed to him and his fellow Avengers before it is too late. Thor continued to walk through the halls, his mind deep in thought regarding his conversation with Odin, and thus did not seem to notice the sound of approaching footsteps. It was only when this particular person announced her presen

That’s how long they had to hold out for until reinforcements arrived. That was how long that they had to stare down into the maw of death, holding the cursed red line from the massive host of the infected. It was four against what seemed like the entire populace of the town; which in hindsight may have been depressingly true. Add to the fact that Aase was gone, having taken several of the wounded back to the CCP, things were not looking good for the fire-team; they were for all intensive purposes, alone. Not good odds.
The team had set up three lines of defense, setting up anti-personnel mines and charges all across the chokepoint, but even that would not be enough to stop the horde from coming. They lost Gavin in the first wave; the poor bastard never saw it coming until it was too late. The other recruit, whose name he just couldn’t seem to remember, took a nasty slash to the leg before they ended up having to fall back. By the time t

there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord:
1. My Legions of Terror will have helmets with clear plexiglass visors, not face-concealing ones.
2. My ventilation ducts will be too small to crawl through.
3. My noble half-brother whose throne I usurped will be killed, not kept anonymously imprisoned in a forgotten cell of my dungeon.
4. Shooting is not too good for my enemies.
5. The artifact which is the source of my power will not be kept on the Mountain of Despair beyond the River of Fire guarded by the Dragons of Eternity. It will be in my saf

She lowered the rifle, looked downrange at the target with the pair of binoculars that dangled around her neck, then proceeded to fire off three more shots with the rifle - this time in quicker succession. Kestrel would've dismissed this action had the rifle not been one of Russian origin; the Dragunov, and not one of those Chinese clones the insurgents seem to use
"By Lenin's ghost..." Kestrel hissed as he marched out his office, passing other 247 operatives and ignoring their greetings. Stepping out into the heat and sand, he stormed over to the range with fire in his eyes. He quickly identified the operative as 'Dust' from the 141. She cleared the chamber and removed the magazine, and went to reach for another before Kestrel seized the rifle

Hey folks! It is now 6pm. You know what that means. It is interview time! Let us begin.
Here is how the interview works: You can all ask questions and chat freely in the chatroom called AtAChat. I will be copy-pasting your questions to Alexiuss and he will answer them in live time in ATAInterview.
We conduct the interview this way to avoid having the artist spammed with too many questions all at once, and to reduce text clutter so that you can all read the artist's responses to the questions.
A special thank you goes out to our lovely mods, ~Melancholy-Minds and ~Twilight-Zero!
Please be aware that we do our best to get as many questions answered as possible, however, if we do not choose your question to send to the artist, please do not be offended. It does not mean it was not a good question. It is just not possible for the artist to answer all questions. Thank you for your understanding.

The old man stopped upon the top of the hill
And looked out over the vast green heath
His knees and ankles growing stiff and still
He had come a long waya very long way
The gypsy woman, runaway from home
She wandered far away from her fatherland
But "Which lands would be her next to roam?"
Was her only wonder as dawn rose from dark
The young girl had just given him the slip
The shackles on her arms clinked like chimes
How ironic the sound, she pondered for a nip
Then continued on her newly destined path
The wild rabbit had just risen for morning
Come out cautiously from its cozy little burrow
But only to entwine himself in the trapper's trap
Why him? Why not the fox, badger, or crow?
The hunter had long since lost his family
The smoke from his campfire lifted to the sky
As he sung that old tale his father had once sung to him
He was hungry and lonely and sat with a sigh
The old man, the gypsy woman, the young girl,
The hunter with the wild rabbi
