Hajj - The Journey of HeartsHajj - The Journey Of HeartsHajj - The Journey of Hearts2 years ago in Personal More Like This
There is debate over whether someone who performs Hajj should be called a Hajji. It is not something found in the Sunnah; rather it has an interesting backround in our cultural history. In antique days, when someone decided to perform the journey for Hajj, it was synonymous with bidding farewell to life on earth. This was due to the treacherous obstacles of traveling in the desert - trials such as sickness, starvation, and the struggles of the separate situations. An entire village might gather to bid those people farewell. When someone would go through such a remarkable journey and return alive, they would dedicate their lives to the worship and obedience of Allah. Gone was the cheating, or the lying, or the missed Salah. He was now a Hajji. Today, with the Jumbo jets and ocean liners and Mercedes busses, the facilitation of performing Hajj has taken away the luster of the title Hajji.

In today's world, everyone who wants attention goes and slanders the prophet Mohammed -peace be upon him- and gets the attention. Of course these people can never affect the reputation and greatness of the prophet of God. but they are always desperately trying.
Some islamophobes invented a day to insult the prophet Mohammed -peace be upon him- under freedom of expression. Every year when the time comes, they encourage people to draw nasty drawings attempting to ridicule and insult the prophet.
Most of their drawings don't even deserve to be called art. some people can't even draw a straight line correctly but they do an effort just to insult the last prophet of Islam.
I am pretty sure this year they will try to do the same. but I have a good plan to counter their wicked plan.
This year, in sha'Allah [by God's will] I am planning to hold a contest called "Know Mohammed Day" (KMD) in the same time they hold their event. The purpose is to encoura

Editorial | Khader Adnan: His dignity. Our shame.
This week, Khader Adnan entered his third month of a hunger strike
against his unlawful detention and mistreatment at the hands of the Israeli military.
The deafening silence by world leaders and media at his plight shames us all.

Palestinians protest in solidarity with Khader Adnan
Somewhere in the Middle East, a 33-year old man is today entering the 60th day of a hunger strike.
He is currently lying as he has done for weeks with one hand, and one leg,
shackled to his hospital bed. By the time you read this, he could be dead.
Of course, had he been an Iranian opposition journalist,

One Family in GazaNow that a new round of slaughter has started in Gaza, I thought you might like to watch how a Palestinian family coped with the incredible horror they went through the last time the Zionist state attacked them. The so-called "Operation Cast Lead" in 2008-2009. The video was produced by Jen Marlowe, a human rights advocate, filmmaker and writer:One Family in Gaza2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Just months after the Israeli assault that killed 1,390 Palestinians, I visited Gaza. Among dozens of painful stories I heard, one family stood out. I spent several days with Kamal and Wafaa Awajah, playing with their children, sleeping in the tent they were living in, and filming their story.
Wafaa described the execution of their son, Ibrahim. As she spoke, her children played on the rubble of their destroyed home. Kamal talked about struggling to help his kids heal from trauma.
What compelled me to tell the Awajah family's story? I was moved not only by their tragedy but by the love for their children in Wafaa and Kamal's every word.

REMARK: THIS JOURNAL MAY NOT BE VERY IMPORTANT.
This subject became irritating. every now and then some people come to my page asking if drawing is haram (forbidden) or not in Islam. the question itself is not what irritates, but some of the people asking the question. From my experience in dealing with these questioners, I could put them into the four following categories:
1. the Muslims who sincerely want to know the answer. some of these like drawing and wish to have a positive answer. but when they hear different fatwas (religious rulings) by different scholars, they feel confused. these people are welcome to ask. I can not tell them whether drawing is halal or haram. what I do usually is provide a link of an article by a Muslim scholar for them to read.
2. the Muslims who are literally lazy -I can't find a better word- to do their work in da'wah (presenting Islam to the world). these people don't do their j

Assalamu Alaikum (Peace Be Upon You)
To believe in God we don’t need to see him, I’ll explain this with an example!
Come with me to an art exhibition. Look the artists have created lots of beautiful drawings. There is a beautiful picture in front of you! A picture of a small hill with some red flowers, a blue sky, some white clouds, and a lot of birds that are flying!
Now I’ll ask you some questions, you might laugh on them but don’t mind just answer my questions!
_it’s a beautiful drawing, isn’t it?
- Yeah, very beautiful.
_who created that?
-of course an artist!
_have you seen that artist?
_so how do you know that an artist created that?
-because there aren't any other ways. A drawing like this can only be made by an artist, that’s how I know!
_but you haven't seen him!!
-Yeah, but I've seen the picture. The flowers, the sky, the birds and the clouds. I've seen all of them! They didn't create themselves, that’s

Show them both sides of the story and then let the human being make the decision whether they want their kids there or not. Don't show me one side and say it's patriotism, it's courageous. Nothing I did in Iraq was courageous! I brought fear into people's homes. I travelled with a 50-caliber weapon every single day and slept with a pistol underneath my pillow. Why are Palestinian Prisoners on a Hunger strike?
1.1 – The issue of Palestinian prisoners is one of the worst consequences of the Israeli occupation.
Since 1967, over 700,000 Palestinians, 20% of the population of the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip have been detained.
This number represents approximately 40% of the total male Palestinian population in the occupied territories.
1.2 – Today, there are about 6,000 prisoners in 17 Israeli jails and detention centres. They i

To protect itself from Hamas rockets and tunnels, Israel is forcing tens of thousands of people out of their homes, turning their old neighborhoods into a no-man’s land.
This narrow strip of land that used to be called “the Gaza Strip,” already one of the more densely populated places on Earth, is growing dramatically smaller. The Israeli military, relentlessly and methodically, is driving people out of the 3-kilometer (1.8 mile) buffer zone it says it needs to protect against Hamas rockets and tunnels. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the buffer zone eats up about 44 percent of Gaza’s territory.
What that means on the ground is scenes of extraordinary devastation in

United States is North KoreaSo this ex pro basketball player I've never heard of goes to North Korea to visit their dear leader as a publicity stunt orchestrated by some obscure media outlet. Apparently successful, because mainstream media is stupid enough to fall for it, since I saw it on TV over dinner. Anderson Cooper is all like outraged and shit. "How can you meet with a murderer?" Death camps, human rights abuses, etc.United States is North Korea2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Well, no doubt North Korea is a humongous shit hole, but guess what? It operates on the same basic principles as the United States. Anderson mentioned a few points, and the parallels are just too obvious to miss to anyone with half a brain. But alas, they didn't have any common decency to invite somebody to troll away their "we are the good guys" and "they are the bad guys" message. Obviously, the US is way better than North Korea, but we are talking about principle, and in that respect they are no different at all.

The Iron WallAfter 1967 and the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, the aim of the settlement movement became clear -- create facts on the ground and make the creation of a Palestinian state impossible. Thirty nine years of occupation and the policy started showing results. There are now more than 200 settlements and outposts scattered throughout the West Bank blocking the geographic possibility of a contiguous Palestinian territory. The Iron Wall2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The Iron Wall documentary exposes this phenomenon and follows the timeline, size, population of the settlements, and its impact on the peace process. This film also touches on the latest project to make the settlements a permanent fact on the ground -- the wall that Israel is building in the West Bank and its impact on the Palestinian's peoples.
Settlements and related infrastructures are impacting every aspect of life for all Palestinians from land confiscation, theft of natural resources, confiscation of the basic human rights, creation of an apartheid-like system,
