BreathlessWhite cloth, white linen,Breathless3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Hiding behind your innocent eyes,
And soft angelic face,
It looks so perfect,
Except your lips are blue,
And I just couldn't save you.
The tears roll silently down my cheeks,
And I want to shout at the man who couldn't bring you back to my arms,
I want to shout,
Give me my angel, give her back!
Your heart stopped beating,
Because I just couldn't save you.
Today I'll stand there and watch them bury you,
I'll watch them forever take away my angel,
If I believed in heaven,
I could pretend that you'll sprout your white wings,
And fly to safety,
But I know that won't happen.
No, we all stand in black,
And watch our beautiful baby girl,
Be lowered into the ground.
I'll take your mother into my arms,
As she cries into my shoulder,
The disease destroyed you,
And now we can't have you back,
And we'll all let the tears come,
Because we couldn't save our baby girl.
ScarsTiny scarlet lines,Scars3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I've drawn across my wrist,
Thin lines that I drew for him,
That I drew to escape,
Please, won't someone shove this knife through my heart?
This is what I've become,
The monster he made me into,
I have nothing left,
Except anger and sorrow,
No will left to fight,
No will left to live.
I want to tear them open,
Each and everyone one,
Tiny scars with bleed tiny drops of blood,
That help me heal,
Causing pain on the outside,
Heals the scars on the inside.
You cause this,
You made me like this,
This...this monstrous thing,
Once so filled with sunlight and happiness,
And now I'm dark,
Just as dark as the scarlet blood drops,
I bleed to get away from you.
Just let me escape.
