A change is as good a vacationJack Ryder was a television reporter, and he liked to think he was a good one. Considering his gross earnings he didnt think he was too far off in his opinion. If you asked anyone else most would probably agree. His journalistic integrity (which most critics would consider an oxymoron) was intact. He always reported the facts as he knew them, tried to present both sides of an argument where possible and never made up facts just for a story. If some people considered him arrogant, that was expected when you got good enough, and if he was somewhat of a workaholic, well, thats what you need to be to get anywhere in this day and age.A change is as good a vacation7 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This

Tarzan Battles AgainThe rustling in the distance attracted his attention first. When he heard the disturbance, the jungle man stood up and peered as far as he could see.Tarzan Battles Again2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
He had been resting on a branch, and now he stood on the same branch to try to see what was coming. He had a pretty good idea, though. Whatever it was walked on two legs. Not many things in the jungle walked on two legs. It basically boiled down to the man himself, the woman asleep higher in the tree in a hidden nook, and the intruders.
They were back.
The man leapt to a higher branch, which he caught in his hands, swinging his body up until he was crouching on the branch. He leapt to a branch above and another. He kept heading up until he was at the highest branch in the tree. He moved into a standing position and looked in the direction he had heard the noise.
He could see the men, moving in single file through the tall grass. They hadn't yet reached the edge of the jungle itself. They were about forty-five minutes from the man's presen

The story takes place on modern times in which superheroes have only appeared within in the past five to eight years, and are viewed with at best, suspicion, and at worst, outright hostility. This was pointed out by G. Gordon Godfrey as he starts a hate-campaign against the so called "vigilanties" through his radio station.
On daylight at the Atlantic Ocean are groups of fisher men doing their work. Everything seems to be fine until they were attacked by a gigantic alien life form with a likeness of a starfish, which emerged from under their boats, destroying the boats in the process. This gigantic alien starfish reproduces smaller clones of its own. This smaller clone starts to attack the fisherman and forcedly attached itself the fishermen's faces by leaping into it. The gigantic starfish as it lies on the remains of the boat reveals it passenger at its back. The heavily armored humanoid creature with a same medium sized alien starfish attached to his chest plate. This humanoid creat

Our story begins on a rooftop in New York City. A young teen crouched near the ledge looking down to the streets below. Watery eyes and an angered look in his eyes.
[I’m Peter Parker, well normally I am, but right now…I’m someone else. Someone that never in my wildest dreams I could imagine myself being. I’m Spider-Man. A hero. Well, maybe I haven’t earned that title yet, maybe I never will. I’m hell bent on revenge right now, taking up this disguise to keep myself, family and friends safe as I try to find a killer. My Uncles killer.]
Peter wipes his eyes with his arm and moves position to a different corner of the rooftop. Dressed in an odd outfit, homemade. A specialized zip up jacket with a full face covering fabric mask attached to the hood. White one way seeing goggles around his neck. And a black spider symbol on the front of his jacket.

Slowly I wandered the castle gardens, clutching my lavender shawl about my shoulders. The cold air seeped through its thin material, adding to the chill I felt inside. Brown, lifeless plants surrounded me, and above me stretched a grey, cloudy sky. It seemed nature itself wished to dampen my spirits.
I sank onto a bench near a barren rose bush, rubbing my arms to warm myself. Heeding Impa's suggestion, I had left the castle to pull Link from his duties so we could discuss Ashton's letter. I hoped to go somewhere more private, preferably beyond the castle grounds…
Yet I lingered there in the gardens, reluctant to follow through. The letter would bring him nothing but distress, and I had no desire to upset him.
He has to know.
I closed my eyes and sighed, struggling to empty my mind. The incident in court hindered my concentration, but years of experience enabled me to focus. Gently I sought the one mind bound to mine, sending him my thoughts wit
Andrea's Roommate (Chapter 18) Working with a hangover was a learned skill. And, coincidentally, this was a skill that Kate did not have. So, groggily and lethargically, Kate did her job to the best of her ability- that is, very poorly. "Yeah, we've got... Uh... This many orders, so, you know... Do 'em." Was pretty much all she could mutter before sneaking into her bosses office and shutting off the lights. Sure, four beers isn't much. But for Kate, it was half a bottle of whiskey. She was in a bad place. Sneaking out on Andrea was easy enough, but she had made the basic mistake of not drinking any water or eating something, opting to go straight to work for the day. The headache had snuck up on her, and it was only by the grace of the Kitchen Gods that they didn't have a ton of work to be done. She made sure everyone knew she was in the office the second they needed her, but, and she emphasized this: "I have complete faith in you aAndrea's Roommate (Chapter 18)4 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

I've battled and nearly conquered the Universe's most powerful heroes and villains.

Time and time again have I tried to gain her love and affection.
I've offered her the lives of my enemies and allies, I've even offered her to stand by my side to rule the Universe itself.
All were in vain.
She would not embrace me.
She would not allow me to die.
She would not allow me to be with her.
Why does she torture me so?
Why does she resent me with such passion?
Am I not Thanos?
Am I not the Avatar of Death?

Plot Rundown Part 1
The episode begins with Principal Wartz welcoming the school's new child psychologist, Dr. Bliss, to P.S. 118. Although she is meant to come after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, she says that she came to spend today observing the students. Wartz welcomes her to do so, but doesn't think she'll find anything interesting, saying that "unlike P.S. 117 and P.S. 119, P.S. 118 is the picture of mental health."
Ironically, the next scene cuts to Helga, who is walking down the halls and wearing her usual angry scowl. She walks by Wartz's office right as Dr. Bliss walks out. Dr. Bliss notices Helga roughly push a kid aside and speak rudely to another. It's clear that she has taken an immediate interest in Helga, and then follows her all the way to Mr. Simmons's class. Mr. Simmons introduces Dr. Bliss as the new school district (finger quoted) "psychologist," and that she has randomly chosen to observe their class. Helga sarcastically says, "Whoop de-doo, the

Summary: A riddle-obsessed genius and a science-obsessed supercomputer. A prisoner and a jailor. A test subject and a scientist. GLaDOS finds a batch of test subjects sent from Arkham Asylum, and unexpected connections are made.
In The Riddler's line of work waking up in a foreign place with a headache and no recollection of how you'd ended up there wasn't an uncommon occurrence.
Even finding bizarre devices strapped to your legs and having a computerized voice give you commands wasn't anything too out of the ordinary. Edward Nigma wasn't completely certain where he was, but it wasn't like Jeremiah totally-a-legitimate-psychiatrist-and-not-a-raving-madman Arkham hadn't put the inmates under his increasingly psychotic care through similar, idiotic tests before.
So, despite being the genius he was, it wasn't surprising that it wasn't until he was presented with the Handheld Porta
Are You A Non-Thinker?There are two types of people in the world. The first are those who realize they have a brain capable of critical thinking, and use it by questioning everything, including the government and its intentions. These people are critical thinkers: great minds who help mold society into a better placescientists, philosophers, intellectuals, artists, inventors, and entrepreneurs. Are You A Non-Thinker?4 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
The second are those who merely float through life without a thought or care in the world, who never question what they are told and accept everything they hear as truth. These people are non-thinkers: people who rarely amount to anything other than to become fodder for tyrants, dictators, and demagogues.
The following is a list of beliefs often held by the modern American non-thinker. If you do not hold any of these beliefs, then you are a critical thinker capable of asking questions and thinking for yourself. If you hold more than one of these beliefs, then you are a non-thinker, and should seriously examine

I lay here and force these words into the stone of Dragonspiral tower for those men who live in the future. I hope to Arceus that these words are not forgotten. I am a traitor, and I am vile, and so I hope and pray that you avoid my mistakes.
He who is King mustn't forget those below him. They are humans, and Arceus loves them dearly. The Lord Arceus and his two sons, Reshiram and Zekrom shall grown angry if you forget them and brush them aside. I, as a fallen King, should know this. Our Lord Arceus is a patient and forgiving deity, but he is not without his limits. It is to be remembered that if the Lord Arceus is displeased, then he shall send his two sons upon mankind. Their power is unfathomable. They are Gods in their own right.
I have stopped them and locked them away for now. They may only be released once more using the Arceus' Artifacts, which I have hidden. Now, as my strength fades, I leave you with one last bit of advice.

The door slowly opened as a familiar female figure stood at the entrance, her emerald green eyes locking onto the sleeping form of the Hulk, who continued to rest peacefully in his massive bed. Silently as possible, Shego closed the door to Hulk's room shut as she entered, resuming to walk over to Hulk's bedside as she looked down upon the sleeping form of the Green Goliath. She couldn't help but smile in amusement, for it was rare to see Hulk in such a peaceful state, and despite herself, she thought that he looked cute.
For the strangest reason, Shego couldn't sleep in her own room, because she she felt as if it were uncomfortable to her now. It was for that reason that she kept sneaking into Hulk's room every night, finding herself comforted by his presence, which never ceased to confuse her already conflicted mind and emotions regarding the Gamma Goliath. What was it about him that made her feel this wa
Religious Fundamentalism: Anti-IntellectualismIn the past, I wrote about religious censorship and the indoctrination of children, but now I hope to blend these two topics together to talk about a more endearing problem that I regularly see in the [religious] Fundamentalist community, and that’s the problem with anti-intellectualism. This isn’t to challenge the dogmas of the various religious beliefs (despite the fact that their claims being false are rather self-evident), but this is intended to discuss the attempt of religious Fundamentalists to censor the learning atmosphere of youth in public education, as well as pointing out the folly of promoting anti-intellectualism in the first place.Religious Fundamentalism: Anti-Intellectualism5 months ago in Articles & Interviews More Like This

In other words, if the Bible says A, and reality (evide
