:bulletgreen: PL: Polak, Węgier, dwa bratanki, i do szabli, i do szklanki.
:bulletgreen: HU: Lengyel, Magyar – két jó barát, együtt harcol, s issza borát.

:bulletgreen: In English (different versions):
Pole and Hungarian cousins be, good for fight and good for party.
Pole and Hungarian - two nephews, at the saber and the glass.
Pole and Hungarian - two good friends, joint fight and drinking are their ends.
Pole, Hungarian - two good friends, together they battle and drink their wine.

In the Polish version, "bratanki" means "nephews (one's brother's sons)",
but at one time "bratanek" (the singular) may have been a diminutive
for "brother" ("brat"). This Polish expression differs in meaning from the
Hungarian version's "barát" ("friend"), though the two words look much alike.

:bulletgreen: PL:
"WĘGRY - POLSKA
DWA WIEKUISTE DĘBY!
każdy z nich wystrzelił pniem osobnym i odrębnym,
ich korzenie, szeroko rozłożone pod powierzchnią ziemi
splątały się i zrastały niewidocznie.
Byt i czerstwość jednego jest drugiemu
warunkiem życia i zdrowia".

:bulletgreen: HU:
"MAGYARORSZÁG és LENGYELORSZÁG
KÉT ÖRÖKLÉTŰ TÖLGY,
melyek külön gyökeret növesztettek,
de gyökereik a föld alatt messze futnak,
összekapcsolódnak és láthatatlanul egybefonódnak.
Ezért egyiknek léte és erőteljessége
a másik életének és egészségének feltétele".
- Stanisław Worcell (1849)

Hungary–Poland relations are the foreign relations between Hungary
and Poland. Relations between the two states date back to the Middle
Ages, with the two peoples enjoying a traditional close friendship.
