More art from Applibot, Inc.'s Gang Road by Kriss Sison today, this time featuring the shotgun-wielding Sandra Vitchi leading riot police in the heat of a shootout. If you think she's a badass here, wait till you see the art from her advanced card tomorrow!
Female vanguardian Xiryu. I was already working on three of them, but i managed to finish one because i was sent to go out and buy some groceries, a lot of groceries. 2 more pics on the way. i thought id post all three of them at the same time in 1 pic.
Anyway hope you are familiar with it, i did a comic with her inside a long time ago,the art in that comic sucks, well coz its old.
Oh and also, she is the second command of the Female Vanguardians, she is a close sympathizer of Nora and always cover him when the city guards go after him because he was accused as a corrupt knight. Without her, Nora cant come into the city and visit his friends. She tells Nora all about the news happening in the Empire, sometimes orphans who lost their parents in a monster attack, she helps bring those children to whose family lost their child for adoption.
Age: 20 Hair: naturally, very pale blonde Eyes: deep blue Skin: naturally pale
Clothing: She tends towards
tight fitting clothing so that it stays out of her way. Typically
leather or cotton materials, she has a few pouches on her belt also.
I’m thinking of a more western than fantasy style for her and her
world, kind of like Firefly/Serenity, Trigun, or Cowboy Bebop.
That frontier world feeling. She does always wear her gun, in
a holster, on her hip. Typically a couple of knives/daggers too.
Occupation: Trained as a
shooter, assassin or guard, she now works as a mercenary for the most
part. Her perfect job would actually be to be a historian/researcher,
but she doesn’t really see enough money in that to support herself,
at least not when the only people who could hire her, hate her.
determined, and refuses to be proven wrong even if it is thrown in her
face. She tends to keep people at a distance and retreats into
her work and solitude. The only person who can even begin to drag
her out of her shell is her best friend/partner Jord, who knows her
far better than she wants him to. She just got her sister back
after thinking her sister was dead for four years, and she’s having
a lot of trouble coming to terms with someone constantly in her life
C. gave me alot to work with here and I was very glad for that. She was so patient with me over the holidays! I'm glad I was able to take my time with this portrait and really put some care into it. C and I met at Anime Nebraskon and she was really excited, it seemed, to hire me. I'm glad she's been pleased with what I've shown her so far! I hope she really likes the final portrait.
"You can't treat my like you did back in our village! I'm a leader now!"
"Oh /shut up/, Hailen. The only reason they made you one is because you're so good at kissing butts. And I should know!"
"That's it. You asked for it! In the name of the Empress, you're on double-duty tonight! Ow!! STOP BITING ME!!"

Helreign leadership is somewhat unconventional - while there is far less diversity than in the Primean Guard, there are what you might call 'officer' ranks - referred to as 'Hands' - that guide the warriors in all aspects of service.
Lower-level leaders are referred to as "Under Hands" and are in charge of keeping their Helreign in line. This can be anywhere from just two warriors to dozens of undisciplined Helzig. A higher rank, "Upper Hands", are in place to oversee the Under Hands, relay orders from the command element and see they are fulfilled. Both can be recognized by their black uniforms, with no distinguishing marks between them - it is often assumed that due to the communal nature of the Hlereign, every warrior is intimately aware of who their leaders are.
The direct, blitz tactics of the Helreign often limit the scope of the Hands responsibility - in effect, their primary job is ensuring their warriors do not crumble under pressure during combat or cause a dispute when out of it. While the Helreign Warriors are committed to their cause, they are still only human and susceptible to all that comes with it.
In many regards, the Hands have been disregarded as 'den mothers' or 'wardens', keeping their charges docile and compliant as best they can, despite not being that much better or worse themselves. The rank is not held in high esteem by senior Helreign as thus it is often awarded frivolously, to those who show promise, have proven themselves in some way, or perhaps just ask for it in a loud and clear voice.
