She had taken over his mind
"Thanks for saving me!" she whispered with uncharacteristic modesty which was restricted only to her tone, and not to be seen on her face. What a perfect restraint!
"I " he tried to breathe out quickly and noiselessly, the usual technique he employed to calm down his heart. But that didn't seem to work. Instead, his breath got stuck in his throat and he struggled to swallow without wincing.
The cold expression on the face he had so practiced for years just wouldn't stick. His lips seemed to have a brain of their own, for they refused to close the gap they created, something which his original m
Good MorningShe did not need an alarm to wake her up. The soft rays of the morning sun together with hint our clouds, when filtered through the glass of the window and diffracting at the fringes of the curtain, bathed the room in an illumination of a mélange of colors. It was as though they were sent out to bless her, the daughter of Gods as she was. She squinted a bit, as her eyes failed to accommodate the entirety. It felt strange. She ducked in reflex, burying her face back into the pillow. It seemed harder than usual. Something about the scent too it smelled like musk. She turned her face to the left, without lifting herself up. She smiled with satisfaction at what she saw. Her man - lay fast asleep, unperturbed by the sunshine. It was too small an amount to disturb him. Normally, Alfred would open the curtains, and sometimes even the window, to give a rise

He doesn't turn around. He's not sure he can let himself. He's not sure he would resist the urge to touch her, if he looked.
His breath dies in his lungs for a one moment, when he feels her hot lips on his nape.
He tries to regain his composure. Tries to speak. Tries to warn her.
She slowly makes her way around him. Her lips move across his bare shoulder, her fingers travel down his back, passing a soft fracture of few bandages.
When she is in front of him, he's not sure he's still breathing.
He can feel smoothness of her hair when she kisses his collar bone. The tips of her fingers examine every muscle of his chest and stomach. They caress every scar beneath them.
Her mouth finds its way along his jaw. Every breath she takes is like the fire on his skin.
He doesn't move even an inch.
Some voice, painful and hard voice, reverberating in the back of his mind, tells him that this is wrong. That he should push her aw
Old Story - BMWWIt was an old story. The story that happened over a hundred years ago, but she remembered everything, as if it was only yesterday. She remembered every time they were almost, almost something. Something more, something else. She remembered every time they were just nothing, but still something.
She remembered that one night, when she came to him. The cave was dark and damp, like usually. She knew he will be there after his patrol. He always was. He always heard her coming. He never turned around to look at her. That time neither. Still, he let her step closer.
She breathed deeply, realising fully why she'd come to him. This realisation squeezed every fibre of her already shattered soul. Shattered by life, by disappointment, by tiredness and finally

She moves quietly, illuminated by the moonlight. She lightly touches the backs of books. She wonders, which of them were in his hands. It is not a surprise for her, that her thoughts drift to him. They've been doing this for a long time.
She reaches for upper shelf. For a book smaller than the other ones, with a simple black cover. It looks old and she can see this is poetry. She opens it on a page, which seems to be read many times. It is a short poem.
When she's about to read the first line, she hears low voice behind her back. It runs from shadows of the shelves. He moved as quiet as always, she couldn't hear him. Still she did not get scared.

Pro-ChoiceYour life is just a string of choicesPro-Choice2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Held together by the delicate stitches of breath.
Every choice I make is mine and mine alone
And this body is nobody’s but my own.
There you go;
And just so you know,
I’m all for it.
It’s not ‘murder’,
It’s not a crime
I think it’s perfectly fine
And if you don’t,
Well, that’s you.
If I get raped,
Or an accident happens,
And I want an abortion;
I’ll get one.
And after all’s said and done,
I won’t feel guilty.
My body, my rules
Your body, your rules.
It’s not alive,
It’s a tiny clump of cells
Not even aware
It wouldn’t even care.
If you’re against abortion?
But my body’s mine,
Hers is hers and your is yours;
Don’t shut other people’s doors.

Darkness had settled hours ago and the house was finally quiet. Though weary from a long day, Diana knew that sleep would be a difficult prize to claim, especially with everything in her mind that vied for her attention. She lay on her back, right in the middle of her spacious bed as she stared at the ceiling with troubled blue eyes. With one hand laying on her belly and the other arm curled around her head, she did her best to relax her body, hoping that her mind would soon follow. Her long black hair was pulled to one side and was flailed out on her pillow and bed. Her spacious bedroom was dimly lit in the warm blue glow offered by the full moon. There were not many furnishings, only the bed, desk across the room under the window and a wardrobe that was made of some dark wood. Two other pieces had joined the

The Outsiders, the Titans, and the entire Bat-Family (save for Cassandra, but she hadn't been able to charter a flight out of Japan and was currently video chatting with Stephanie while they waited) had arrived too, and Damian was just left feeling very, very confused.
He and Grayson had been on patrol when one of Ra's Al Ghul's snipers had shot Grayson in his chest, leaving three bullets lodged in his chest. It had been from point-blank range and the Kevlar hadn't held, and Batman had fallen off the building, falling three stories onto a ledge. Damian had tried to save him, he really had, but he was too far away and too small, and Grayson had vanished over the precipice before he could get his grapple out.
Miraculously, he had still somehow been conscious (ouch, Damian didn't envy him for that) and he had managed to twist his body around, landing in a weak

Unfortunately...he was going to die any day from natural causes. Or so he has said. No. The heroes were not in their costumes. We were all in normal wear. Dresses. Suits. Tuxedos. The people were dancing under the lights hung in the trees of the meausem garden. Drinking Champagne and laughing with the music. This is were the night dawned upon us. Only little of them noticed.
The wind blew my hair from my shoulders and ruffled the skirt of my dress. My hip resting on a gargoyle of the meausem balcony. The nights shadows the only friend of the roof top. I sighed listening to the music sway the trees below me. I was

It looked like she may actually have a whole day where she didn’t have to worry about the rain, too, since Korra had agreed to have Naga stay on Air Temple Island for a few days, rather than on the Sato estate.
At long last, Asami had the luxury of curling up on the couch with a book near the fireplace, and she was taking full advantage of the opportunity. Korra

“Where were you”, Lavender asked as Hermione made her way into the room.
“Oh, I was just…I just had to talk to someone”, she answered, blushing at the thought of what she had really been doing. Lavender frowned as if she did not believe the girl, but didn’t pester her any further. Hermione noticed Harry slouching on the couch, and hurried over to him. He looked completely defeated, as f he couldn’t quite believe that he had lost. Hermione was unsure of what to say, since she suspected he knew exactly where she had been, so decided to just

Robin was twisting his wrists, frantically hoping that the man had weakened the cuffs even a little. He discovered quickly that there was no give in them, other than when they pulled at his skin and tore open the blisters. He wanted to scream out his frustrations, but his raw throat was barely able to vocalize already.
His chest rose and fell rapidly with every desperate breath. His heart was racing and his mind was awhirl as he was resigned to accept that Superman was not going to be doing any saving. He hissed at the sharp pain that seared through his eyes as he opened them and he squeezed them closed again almost immediately.
Heavy footsteps approached him and he tentatively lifted his lids, watching through his lashes as Sportsmaster entered the room. The eyes of the man were not kind and the captive felt that pulse of fear settle into dread. Those hard eyes stared down at him when the mercenary came to a stop next to the table.
