Usage in different races
Earth ponies have to rely on a mouth grip or a battle saddle on all weapons, since they have no means in lifting them in any other way.
Mouth grips are mostly designed with the abilties of Earth Ponies in mind. They have no problem with the kick of the gun, since they are physically more powerfull and resistant then other races. They can handle every firearm up to a medium sized shotgun with ease, using a mouth grip.

Canterlot was always busy no matter what time of day it was, but right now the only activity within the castle would be the royal guards on their nightly duties. It was 2am and the young unicorn had had one hell of a day, but this was the only moment when she had felt something approaching fear.
Actually, fear wasn't the correct word anxiety was a better term. If she failed in her mission here, then she was certain that Princess Celestia would be disappointed with her. The alicorn had been her tutor and mentor for most of her life and the one thing she strived for was to make her proud.
But her chances of success were about to take a sudden turn for the worse.
There was a sudden, almighty crash and she spun round to see one of the shields that had been hanging on the wall bouncing down the stairs. She winced at the sound of every metallic cl
The Princess Bridle: Chapter OneThe clear light of midday filtered in through the curtains of Applebloom's bedroom window, but she was in no condition to enjoy the glorious weather outside. She coughed into a tissue, then blew her dripping nose. The little yellow filly at once felt both uncomfortably warm under her bed's heavy quilt and chilly enough to want to burrow further beneath it.The Princess Bridle: Chapter One3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
On either side of Applebloom, her best friends Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were equally suffering.
"Ah told y'all that tryin' to be 'Cutie Mark Crusader Frog Catchers' weren't no good idea," Applejack said as she bustled about her sister's room. "For one thang, Froggy Bottom Bog ain't no place for a buncha fillies to be muckin' about! And besides, what were you gonna do with all those frogs anyhow?"
"Sorry, big sis. I guess we didn't think that far ahead," Applebloom replied. She normally hated it when Applejack started with the 'Ah told you so's, but just didn't feel

Soft, sad music plays during the two quotes, echoing in the velvet darkness they leave behind. However, the darkness gradually lifts to show the purple unicorn, Twilight Sparkle, fast asleep in her bed. She breathes softly, her eye squirming under their lids as the dream washes over her unconscious mind. The mare mumbles incoherently before bolting upright, breathing heavily. Secret Tub Fun Twilight trotted into her bathroom and set a small bucket down on the lacquered wood counter. "Finally, a night alone to unwind and enjoy some me time," she said with a relieved sigh. "Spike's helping Apple Bloom and her crusaders study, and everyone else is occupied with Pinkie's party." She pulled a box of scented candles out of the bucket and placed them strategically around the small bathroom, then lit them one by one with her horn. "And no studying tonight, so it's just going to be me, Mr. Bing Cropsby, and a nice, looooong soak."Secret Tub Fun3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Her horn sparkled as she began running the bath and poured a generous helping of foaming bath salts Luxury had recommended her. As it ran, she began unpacking her tub. Next was Spike's poster of a dragon's glaring eye, which she tucked up into the bathroom's only wind

A stiff, cold wind whipped its way across the rolling hills and fields and through the groups of snow-covered trees, swaying heavily-laden branches and stirring the glistening piles of white snow as it blew. Many latent snowflakes enjoyed a short, triumphant return to the late-morning sky as they were borne upward on each gust, twirling and sparkling in the sun's brilliant morning light as they soared above grove and plain, only to come drifting lazily back down to earth when the wind died back down. This process repeated itself innumerable times on the crisp winter morning. Despite the sun, it was a cold morning, a condition the biting wind did nothing to remedy, as the air retained its chilly quality even as the time advanced closer to midday. The sun's light, however, still managed to create a cheery scene as its rays shown down upon the countryside, sending the rolling dunes of pure white ablaze with countless, tiny, glittering reflections.

"C'mon Twilight! Everypony's waiting for you at Sugar Cube Corner!" Spike had had to half-drag Twilight from the library, where she had spent the evening reading and drinking mostly drinking. He'd found her curled up on the couch nursing a bottle of vanilla-lemon vodka, the floor a pile of crumpled books and empty bottles, and she'd resisted every effort of his to get her to come with him. He'd tried to pull her by her tail at first, and when that hadn't worked he'd pushed on her rump as she dug her hooves in stubbornly, but now she had finally given up and was walking alongside him, swaying as she went.
"At what where? Sugar Cube Corner?" she slurred. After half a bottle of vodka, Twilight was three sheets to the wind, and she found it difficult to put one hoof in front of the other. In fact, they threatened to tangle up underneath her at any moment, and she was glad o

For the first time in a long while, Scootaloo felt warm. Long tendrils of pleasing heat radiated pleasure and comfort throughout her body, bringing the filly a level of happiness she had not known for quite some time. Yet, the source of her warmth was not the thick wooden walls of the cozy farmhouse which barred the ponies inside from the raging elements. It was not the fire, roaring and snapping away within the cheery little hearth. It was not the steaming mug of hot apple cider which sat before her, the contents of which had sizzled and nearly scalded her throat when she took her first big, refreshing gulp. It was not the hoof-knitted wool blanket which Fluttershy had draped over the filly's back. All of these things contributed to the comfortably heated atmosphere of the house, but, in Scootaloo's mind, they were not the source of her warmth.
She gazed around the crowded kitchen, her eyes lingering on the face of each pony as she went. She looked to Applejack, grinning sh

Rainbow Dash's nose twitched. This was an involuntary movement, more of a reflex than anything else, brought on by the perceived presence of something bothering her face. To the barely-conscious pegasus, the sensation was strange. If she had been able to think about it, she would have thought that something was brushing against her closed eyelid. As a last-ditch effort to retain her sleep, her hoof lifted to the level of her eyes in a half-conscious attempt to remove the irritant. Unfortunately, this action had little effect as the slowly-waking pony soon found herself waving her hoof around in front of her face in a dazed early-morning stupor, futilely attempting to ward off the encroachments of the sun as its light streamed in through the window, falling across her still-closed eyes. Groggily, Rainbow Dash's eyelids slowly blinked open, taking in the extent of the bright early-morning light for the first time. She was momentarily confused, groaning and closing her eyes aga

Sunlight shone through the chilled glass of the window panes in the nursery, casting beams of bright light onto the surfaces of the newly-constructed room and its occupants. The beams shone on the walls painted in a in a soft, soothing muted blue color. The aura of cool blue surrounding and filling the nursery created a calming atmosphere for the room's sole conscious occupant accenting her shining blue eyes as she relaxed. Lying against a pile of soft cushions on the comfortable couch set against a side wall was Fluttershy. Supported by the well-used pillows, she took a long deserved rest. Her gaze fell across the room upon the three cribs set near the far wall. Each one was occupied by a sleeping foal, each of their small chests rising and falling in the slow, rhythmic pattern of a deep, unstrained sleep.
Fluttershy smiled, mirth glinting in her dancing blue eyes, at the sight of her children and her niece breathing so softly in their sleep; resting; dreaming; lost i

Streaks of bright, white light breaking over the far-off horizon signaled the rising of a new sun and the beginning of a new day. The beams of sunlight cut through the dense fog of the chilly early morning like a knife through butter. The thin, wispy accumulation of water droplets began to melt away under the onslaught of energy from the newly-risen light source. The vapor gradually returned to its usual invisible form in the early morning light, revealing another clear sky, set to greet the earliest of risers with its wide open vistas of chilled air.
Light, no longer impeded by the wispy fog, now freely found its way to spread across the landscape, falling across building, tree, and mountain alike and bathing them all in the first wondrous illumination of a new day. Striking the frosty panes of a glass window, a beacon shone into the bedroom of a cozy farmhouse a bedroom where two ponies slept peacefully in each other's warm embrace. Gradually shifting across the oak-
Sunset - Chapter 1: Dawn A dark and stormy night: the perfect time to tamper with the universe's laws. Or so Celestia thought to herself. She couldn't explain why, despite her long years, but something just felt... right... about the whole thing. Maybe years of loneliness had finally driven her off the deep end? No, she was still quite sane. It wasn't like she was totally alone either. Sure, she had grovelling servants at her beck and call, but they were always far too formal for her tastes.Sunset - Chapter 1: Dawn3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

She frowned slightly and nudged it back into place with her muzzle.

Start Spreading the NewsFluttershy was sleeping soundly unaware that she was being watched. It had only been a week since her accident that resulted in her accidentally confessing her feelings to Pinkie while she stood outside Fluttershy's bedroom door. As the first rays of sunlight shone through her window waking her, she stretched and smiled warmly as, for the last seven days, her first sight was the same as when those bandages were removed. On her nightstand was a picture frame, and inside it was the note Pinkie Pie had written telling her that she loved her as well. With a smile on her still sleepy face, "I love you, Pinkie." Vinyl gently raised her shades from over her eyes with the tip of a hoof, narrowing her eyes in an intently scrutinising expression.

Twilight felt her face hit the table hard, prompting Luna to look up quickly from her reading. The paper next to Twilight was filled with many crossed out scribbles that once had been notes on what she had THOUGHT were important aspects of each book in an effort to learn more about the author. But no, each note taken was very easily contradicted in the next book which had some other bit of info that would then be destroyed by the next.
There were only four books he had written and each one told the story of a completely different author.

"Dash? Dash!" Twilight called out, standing on the path below Dash's cloud home. She stamped her hooves in frustration as the silence dragged on. She had been at this for several minutes, and the situation called for a bit more urgency than her friend was showing. Or not showing, as the case may be. So far she hadn't shown up at all.
"Dash, am I going to have to get Fluttershy to go up there?" Twilight asked of the clouds. She finally heard from above, a low groan making its way down to her.
"Alright already." Rainbow Dash complained, rolling onto her front and over to the edge of her cloud home, where she could look down on Twilight. She blinked slowly a couple times at Twilight. "Can't a pony get some shuteye?" she complained.
"It's nearly afternoon Dash!" Twilight retorted. Dash just looked around lazily at the bright day she had somehow slept straight through until now. She gave a yawn.
"And why were you asleep outside?" Twilight asked, her curiosity overcoming her sense
