Mid Dragon's World Chapter 2Chapter 2: Going to the Mall
That night, Alex, my dad, Theian, and I sat at the dinner table, waiting for Z'haer, Eig'nia, and Girido to return. My stomach was growling at me. It was telling me that it wanted food and it wanted food now. Dad had a chicken cooking in the oven that felt like it had been in there forever. I moaned as I slammed my head down on the table, feeling lightheaded.
"Jakol, head up." Dad commanded.
As soon as I heard him say that, I immediately swung my head up. My dad looked at me with an angry kind of look for a few seconds then turned his attention to Theian.
"Theian, how did their first day of training go?" Asked dad.
"Rather well. Alex shows a lot of promise. His strength should become a valuable asset to you in the future. Jake, however While he shows potential, he's uneasy about using his powers. I hope to be able to change that." Theian said.
"Oh? And how do you plan to do that?" Dad asked, sounding interested.
"I'm not sure yet. But I'll think of a w

All new fursuit makers, are you ready?Something that has been going around in my head for the past week as I've watched a ton of new makers jumping out of the woodworks, eager to take on commissions. Making suits is great and can be a great hobby, but for those that are wanting to continue making them beyond the Hobby mark, ask yourself these questions...All new fursuit makers, are you ready?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
1. Do I have the time to dedicate to this?
On average I will work 12-16 hour 'shift' days making suits, 6 days a week. I will take a day or two off to loosen up and relax, but perhaps ever 2 weeks or so. To keep up with the demand and the work load it takes a ton of my time, often sacrificing fun events such as the movies or a bon fire.
2. Do you have the space?
I started working off of my bed, then out of the spare bedroom. Small projects don't take up space, but larger ones certainly do. Do you have the space needed for furs, tools, cutting, sewing, and other things of the sort?
3. Do you have the dedication?
Fursuit making can not only be rewarding, but it can also be

Expiration DateI love the Team Fortress 2 short movies. They're like little Pixar films......just with violence, blood, dismemberment and a general disregard for health, safety and human life.Expiration Date6 months ago in Personal More Like This
Usually they're quite brief, but the latest to surface is a whole 15 minutes. Positively feature-length!
It's making me want to revisit those TF2 "auxiliary units" I designed a couple of years back.
DashCon - How not to do a conventionIt seems like every week there’s a new convention going on, and this was no different. DashCon (purportedly the largest gathering of tumblr uses to date), was happening this weekend and... well... it fell apart in many gloriously horrible ways.DashCon - How not to do a convention5 months ago in Personal More Like This
First there were accusations of scamming, as the convention owners crowd-sourced $17,000 to secure the venue (which should’ve been done MONTHS in advance). All attempts to contact the hotel have resulted in the hotel saying there was no need to raise that money and that they never received any of it.
Then there were the cancelations. The Welcome to Nightvale people were flown in, but then told they weren’t going to be paid till AFTER they performed for everyone (which is already suspicious) and also told they weren’t getting reimberesed for the hotel, flight, food, etc. So sadly WTNV had to cancel at the last minute, resulting in the convention owners refunding patrons with “an extra hour in the ball pit.” The
Russia under the Cult of Putin?I really thought China was going to be the big problem for the 21st Century. They’re quietly taking over chunks of Africa and South America in order to leach them for resources, they’re trying to expand their reach in the Pacific by challenging claims over strategic islands (and when that fails, they BUILD new ones!) and their human rights record is smeared with the blood and filth of their own poor.Russia under the Cult of Putin?2 months ago in Personal More Like This
That one of the “old” superpowers would do something to upset the delicate balance that’s been in place since the end of the Cold War was unthinkable. After everything that happened in the 20th century and the blanket of fear and doubt it cast over the world, what kind of person would risk a return to the dark days?
Well, Putin gave the answer, there. I thought the chap was sinister, but ultimately harmless. A cool headed fellow that had as much pride in his nation as any other Russian. For a while last year I was even thinking; we really don’t need firs
KorrasamiSo last night the season finale of Korra premiered. WARNING, this entire journal will be spoiling one specific thing from the ending which, if you can’t guess by the title of the journal and everyone tweeting and trending about it, has something to do with Korra and Asami’s relationship.Korrasami16 hours ago in Personal More Like This
Now then, the big surprise was that the final moments of the episode involve Korra and Asami just chilling after a party and telling how much they mean to each other. After a consoling hug and some reassuring words, Korra suggests they take a vacation together. Just the two of them, no one else, wherever Asami wants to go. Asami suggests the spirit world. And so the episode ends with the two holding hands looking into each-other’s eyes as they pass into the spirit world.
I gotta say... I am impressed. I genuinely didn’t think that Nickelodeon would allow the Korrasami ship to get that far. Even though the show doesn’t explicitly come right out and SAY th

I mentioned it briefly yesterday, and thanks to some people filling in the blanks I didn’t have at the time I feel the need to update this with more information for everyone’s sake.
Apparently what happened is that a couple feminists on tumblr (most sources only mentioning on average 4 people) tried to start a “let’s take down 4chan” campaign. 4chan (the source of some of the lowliest, filthiest, scummiest people on the planet), didn’t like that. So they’ve retaliated with a “take down tumblr” campaign. Please bear in mind that there is no real evidence to support this and it might all just be 4chan stirring up shit themselves for the lulz.
4chan users created multiple accounts and then proceeded to spam the popular tumblr tags with excessive amounts of gore, porn, child pornography, and have been taking “selfie” images of underage tumblr users and photoshop them into porn. They've also
Dear everyone, PLEASE READI have a good friend on dA who's being horribly mistreated because of who she is. She lives in Kuwait, where being LGBT is illegal and because of some crazy laws and some crazy people, she is forced to suffer because she's transgendered. A lot of her friends, including me, aim to stop the terribly sickening ways the LGBT community is being treated in Kuwait. She recently wrote a journal about a religious doctor who physically abused her and traumatized her because being trans is a crime where she lives. She thought she was going to die. This guy was allowed to do this because of primitive laws in Kuwait that make this kind of repulsive, inhumane activity legal. Believe me when I say Kuwait has stripped her of her basic human rights. She is so afraid. Please everybody, spread her journal around so that we can help stop these terrible, disgusting people from continuing to do such evil things to your fellow humans. The journal is unbelievably appalling. Her journal: http://pinkbluebibliofDear everyone, PLEASE READ3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Remember how awesome it was that Wendy Davis was able to filibuster her way through not getting a potentially damaging abortion bill from passing? Remember how the bill was DOA by the end of the night? Yeah... that's not happening now. Texas governor Rick Perry is calling for a second special hearing to be held on July 1st and is saying "Even the woman who filibustered in the Senate the other day was born into difficult circumstances. It's just unfortunate that she hasn't learned from her own example that every life must be given a chance to realize its full potential and that every life matters."
Wow... what an A-hole. Maybe it's because she was born into difficult circumstances that she's able to see things not in such stark black and white contrasts and sees how damaging this bill will be. Perry went on to say "it's lawmakers' duty to prevent abortions, regardless of the conditions into which a child may be bor

They have different names depending on the tradition or path a particular pagan chooses to follow, but you better believe they know their own holiday's names.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I just thought that circumcision was what you did, no big deal, and that every man was circumcised. Then one day I saw a picture of a baby being circumcised, and everything changed. Just one tiny, grainy photo was enough to make me want to know more, and the more I knew, the worse it got. It turns out, circumcision really is a big deal.
Part 1 - Circumcision Surgery Myths
Myth 1: They just cut off a flap of skin.
Reality check: Not true. The foreskin is half of the penis's skin, not just a flap. In an adult man, the foreskin is 15 square inches of skin. In babies and children, the

Yes, we're back on the gun-debate-thing. And this time the pro-gun crowd are pissing me off because they've set in motion a chain of events that will stifle the potentially fabulous ability to transfer what you create on your computer into the real world.
The man behind it harps on about liberty being his motivation for doing it.
Liberty has to be tempered with responsibility, otherwise you just have anarchy. Using new technology to build a gun doesn't make you a champion for freedom, it makes you an attention seeking moron who gives the powers-that-be REASON to restrict it. They will now do everything the can to prevent the proliferation of the technology. They
Educating OurselvesThis journal contains a lot of potentially buzz-work things that could result in arguments from people who don't take the time to read my message. For example I mention Anita Sarkeesian, but I don't want people to start arguing against her points of view because that's NOT what this journal is about. So please, read carefully before you respond to help avoid knee-jerk reactions since that's exactly what this journal is about trying to AVOID.Educating Ourselves10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Over the years I’ve had a pretty straightforward view on gun control. Guns are dangerous and need to be restricted and made more inaccessible to prevent future acts of gun violence. I’ve never genuinely believed in the idea of banning all guns because I do think people DO need to have ways to protect themselves.
However, I’ve recently been thinking more about a different aspect to the gun control debate and it’s broader implications to other troublesome politically charged areas of our (United States) cult

A Mysterious cloud of bright red smoke appears before your eyes as that strange plastic lamp you touched has suddenly sprung into life. Out of the smoke, you can make out a beautiful busty woman wearing a long flowing red rubber dress and fiery red hair cascading down her sides.
"Greetings" she announces, "My name is Sammy, I am a rubber genie, imprisoned several weeks ago by a malevolent force. I will grant you any wish your heart desires, whatever you want shall be yours."
Sammy sits on her cloud, squeaking slightly as her rubberized thighs press together, staring down at you, awaiting the next words to come from your mouth. Before you can say anything, she interrupts "I must warn you, any wish you make is permanent, and I cannot always guarantee that the dark magic I am infused with will provide you exactly what you want. The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Evolution: It Shouldn't Be That Hard, But...It has not escaped attention that many who are confused about the concept behind the theory of evolution by natural selection think that it is something else entirely. Specifically, many seem to think that the Big Bang theory, the theory of abiogenesis, and the theory of evolution by natural selection are the same exact thing.Evolution: It Shouldn't Be That Hard, But...7 months ago in Personal More Like This
The Big Bang theory states that about 13.7 billion years ago, the universe was condensed and an infinitely small singularity. In a short instant, it expanded greatly, allowing all the energy that the singularity contained to separate itself into all the particles in the Standard Model and for the physical laws and constants to become established.
The theory of abiogenesis states that when the Earth was relatively young, the conditions (extreme heat and bombardment by strong electromagnetic radiation, the lack of oxygen in the atmosphere, etc) allowed chemical reactions to take place that gave rise to the first organic molecules.
