You're armed with two bowls of popcorn and determination enough to staple water to a tree without using a little plastic baggy or turning it to ice. You are that determined. Tonight is movie night with Karkat. So far your co-friendleader has yet to be impressed by anything you show him. But tonight, tonight you're bringing out the big guns. What are those big guns? A great leader never reveals his strategies until they are put into motion!
Ok, maybe you'll tell. You have an armful of rom-coms. The very thing you know will push Karkat into liking you as something more than a portable punching bag. Maybe you'll even get to cross into friendship territory. Maybe. You're not getting your hopes up too much.
As soon as the doo
Wings of a Worthless God Chapter FourJohn managed to drag Karkat back up the hill and into the small cave they turned into a makeshift shelter. He deposited his Matesprit on the small pile of blankets they had and looked over him worriedly. "Thank god," He exhaled the breath he had been holding when he saw Karkat's chest moving slowly up and down. The fire was dimming, barely crackling. John took off his jacket and shirt and threw them over Karkat. He knew it wasn't a lot, but it was better than nothing. Hurriedly he built back up the fire and left to search for rocks. There was a survival show he saw once that recommended heating rocks up and burying them in the sand to keep the body warm while sleeping.Wings of a Worthless God Chapter Four3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
The wind was strikingly cold against his bare skin. "Leaving my jacket with Karkat probably wasn't the best idea " John hiked through the snow; he mustered up the energy to combat the wind with his own, eventually being able to nullify the gusts around him. There was nothing to be found around the entrance of the ca

"Y-Yeah, great." He said quietly, his eyes trained on the TV.
John sat down next to the troll and leaned against him. "It's been a while since we had a good storm, this should be cool." Karkat was shivering slightly, "You cold? Karkat why didn't you say anything?" He grabbed one of the big warm fuzzy blankets they kept on the couch in case Karkat did get cold and threw it around the troll. "You never say anything, you don't have to be embarrassed, I already know you can't regulate your body heat well."
Karkat gripped the blanket tight and pulled it closer to his body. "Thanks."
He resumed leaning against the troll and watching TV. Their lives had become so peaceful since beating the game for good. "Karkat you're still shaking so badly. Are you sure you're ok? Do you need a hot shower?"
"No. I'm fine."
"You're not though," he pulled the other boy closer to him and hugged him. "You can admit this kind of stuff to me."
Karkat nodded. T
Happy 4/13 Update Later Tonight**This mini story takes place sometime after chapter seven of Still the Same, but it is not necessary to have read up to chapter seven, nor will this story affect the regular updated plot. For those of you who haven't read Still the Same, it's a "trapped in the veil" AU where John got himself turned into a troll. By this point in the story they are in an established Matesprit relationship. -Tien**Happy 4/13 Update Later Tonight3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Karkat had been counting down the days; each one was carefully crossed out in neat rows. He had been counting and waiting for this day. He couldn't wait; in fact, he believed he was far more excited for it then the person who the day was about.
Also known as John's birthday.
Days were hard to follow in the veil; there wasn't much that could be used for reference. But Karkat figured it out, it was hard, but he believed he finally found a way to make it work.
And that day he had been counting down to was finally here. That morning Karkat rolled over and gently kissed the side

"What about a spear?"
"Is it sharp, Jake?"
"Well what about-"
"Can it kill someone, Jake?"
"Well I guess "
"Goddamn it, Jake, no."
"Hey these rules are pretty friggen stupid if you ask me."
You leaned up on your bed, resting your chin on your hand, "Listen, I didn't make them, but you have to follow them." You looked on as your friend was packing his bag. You had no clue how he wound up on your doorstep one day. The boy didn't know either. He said one moment he was exploring the ruins around his house, and the next he was outside the apartment door. This also meant he still had all of his weapons either on him or equipped in his sylladex. That made plane travel rather difficult.
"I don't see why though. It's all one huge waste of time, why can't we bring whatever we want?"
"Because, Jake, people tried that once, and it was horrible." You watch as Jake frowns and pulls more items from his bag and inve
Worth the Kill? Chapter FiveThe forest was still as the hunters moved silently through the underbrush. Everyone was alert as the small group of four moved through the inky darkness. "Can't tell what dear?"
"I can't tell if we're hunting them, or we're being hunted," the girl replied. Her tone was serious and her grandfather didn't doubt a word she said.
"Just keep moving, we'll get them, don't worry," her grandfather reassured her. "Remember, they're smart, but in the end they are animals just the same." She nodded and flipped the safety off her rifle.
The small group of hunters resumed being quiet. It seemed that every bush could hide a troll, and every blind spot was an ambush waiting to happen. Unknown to most of them, they were actually being hunted. Silently trailing the humans was a small band of trolls. Their leader was a big troll with huge bull horns.
"Jake," He whispered, "Come up here."
A smaller troll moved to the older one's side.
Lying Is In Your BloodNightmares are supposed to be filled with the screaming of the soon to be dead. Rainbow blood is supposed to flash across your eyes. You're supposed to see the dead bodies of alien races you don't know. The songs of the victorious, in broken Alternian rise above the wails of the doomed. Propaganda like this was supposed to prepare you for a life of hostilely taking over cultures and killing off millions of other species that couldn't match Alternians in power.Lying Is In Your Blood3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
But this this wasn't right. The screams you heard, the blood curdling shrieking wasn't coming from a stranger, it was coming from you. The panic didn't belong to an alien fighting for its life; the terror filled golden eyes were yours. What was wrong? Why were you dreaming of this instead of the usual horrors? This wasn't supposed to happen. Why are you running jackass? What the fuck could be so terrifying? You're a troll damn it! An Alternian Troll! The strongest race in the galaxy, why are you running?

Still the Same Chapter Nine"John are you ok?" Karkat stuck his head out of the shower they were previously sharing and looked at his quivering Matesprit. John never answered and through the fogged mirrors Karkat could see blue tears. "John?"Still the Same Chapter Nine2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
The other troll blasted Karkat with a wide range of feelings from anger to depression before covering his face with his hands. "No I'm not ok Karkat!"
Carefully Karkat moved from the shower to stand behind John, "Would you like to tell me what's wrong?"
"No," John sniffled.
Moving slowly Karkat wrapped his arms around John and pulled him close, "You have to tell me, I can't help unless you tell me what's wrong."
"I don't want you to help!" John spun around, breaking contact, and snarled, "I want these gone!" He flared his wings, "I want this gone!" He clawed at his skin, "and I don't want these!" He pulled down on his horns, "Or this, or this, or any of it!"
Karkat watched John point to every part of his body that had changed since he became a troll. His Matesprit fell to hi
Given UpIt's been three long years on a ship before you finally meet up with your friends. Three long years of playing shitty MMO's and waiting anxiously on any word from your friends. Three years before you got to see them in person. There's something deep down in your heart that is scared that they won't be friends with you anymore, that they've changed. Three years is a lot of time. It's a lot of time to change as a person. You know, because you've changed a little bit. You're not as naïve as you were before; the game taught you a lot about yourself, and about how life can change so fast. It taught you to be strong, and acknowledge your weakness. You've had to cope with death, and depression. There's more to life than your prankster gambit and playing video-games. Sburb taught you a lot, it showed you a lot. There were some really horrible experiences, but also some really cool ones. You looked over at Jade and Dave and gave them both a reassuring smile.Given Up3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

"I think it'll be friggen blast! Lighten up Di you're always so taunt, like a string about to snap. Have fun, think of it as an adventure!"
"Yeah! Karkat, it's an adventure!" The windy boy bounced alongside his boyfriend.
"No, John, it's a fucking date. You know, because it's Valentine's Day, that absurd stupid human holiday where everyone gushes all over their Matesprits and spend ridiculous amounts of money on stupid trinkets."
"So you don't like the present I got you?"
The trolls hand flew up to the necklace around his throat, John's windy symbol was shining proudly on a silver chain, the blue charm matched the blue ring he wore on his finger, a gift from last year. "N-No, I love it John."
John laughed, "And?"
He sighed, "And the chocolate was good too, thanks."

Repairing the Damage Chapter One"Karkat, come!" You call to your pet; the troll lifts himself up from his pile of blankets in the corner of your living room. "We're going shopping; you can come along this time." He stands by your side silently waiting for you to put the leash around his collar. You've upgraded the harsh chain the center used for one made of soft leather. He flicks his ears back and waits for the door to open. Dating Karkat is great. Karkat is great. Sure, there are tons of people who say the same thing every day. But you mean it, Karkat is great. Really great. He's everything you could have ever wanted in a boyfriend. Too bad it took you three years and a pretty intense argument to figure out you were ok with Karkat being a boy. Actually, you argue intensely about a lot of stuff. Heh heh. He sorta likes to yell, it's got to be his favorite thing. Anyway, besides all the shouting, Karkat's great. Has that been mentioned yet?

Worth the Kill? Chapter ThreeKarkat woke up first, there was a soft light filtering in through the blinds. He yawned and stretched, noticing John was still holding him tight. The troll smiled and pressed his head against the boy. 'Is this what having Matesprit feels like? This sense of safety?' He was really surprised that he felt so safe around John. There was something about the human boy that made him forget his fears, and feel relaxed. Something that he'd never experienced in his life. Karkat grabbed John careful to not wake him up and held on like he was going to disappear. 'He still could, everything I have disappears.' He clutched this person who he only met hours ago like he was the dearest thing he had. John had become the trolls only link, his only chance, at a peaceful life. He shivered at the thought of losing the boy, this amazing wonderful boy who sheltered him, even though he was a complete stranger, and a troll.Worth the Kill? Life is now luxurious for the people of Alternia. They have everything, all of their sacrifice and hard work paid off. Their territory spreads out across the vast universe. Entire galaxies are under their rule, and from these galaxies they take their prizes. Some natives they enslave, others they simply rule. Heinous games are created. Said games are different now, gambling is different. Instead of betting with chips that stand for money trolls tend to use the lives of the species they capture. The games played vary from planet to planet. Sometimes they play cards and the exchange of "chips" works like a slave trade. Other times it's a lot more sinister and the lives of the captives are extinguished like a small cand

Your name is Tien Fayt and damn that sounds like it came right out of the animes.
You have various interests, many of which include WRITING. There is a webcomic you happen to fancy by the name of HOMESTUCK. It's hosted on MSPA and you check for updates weekly, daily, hourly, ok you constantly hit F5. A lot of people seem to think you are rather good at writing FANFICTION. Holy fuck do you write a lot of fanfiction, mostly of the JohnKat variety. You also enjoy VIDEOGAMES and many other "nerd" things.
Also in your possession are two (x2) horses, one (x1) evil cat, one (x1) salamander, and two (x2) fish.
Your room is a mess, in fact you can hardly figure out what is what in there. Walls are littered with art prints from What Pumpkin as well as the many fanart pieces you've received from your stories. There are the occasional anime poster leftover from the 'dark years'. You don't think you can bring yourself to tear down the Kingdom Hearts posters, or that one of Gac
