Chat Tutorial #3 - Customizing your Chatroom!Ez a Tutorial Magyar nyelven is elérhető!
Let's get started
Let's see if there's any official FAQ about it:
There's quite some! I recommend you to always read these FAQs before doing anything or visiting :#help: on dAmn
So, let's try out something, shall we?
When you enter your freshly created room you'll notice the following things:
The Title are will be empty
There will be no topic area
You will be placed into 'Guests' by default
You may ask the following; Why am I in the Guests privclass?
It's simple: because the room is in need of setting up and since you've just created it, no one ever joined it before!
You must promote yourself into the highest (Founders is the default privclass for that) group there, so others will know that you're in charge of that room!
How to do that?
Chat Tutorial #10 - Anatomy of a chatroomThis should have been the first articleChat Tutorial #10 - Anatomy of a chatroom2 years ago in Art Features More Like This

So I noticed that when I try to explain certain things about chatrooms for helpees, they have no idea where is the title, topic area of the chatroom or if that even exists. I'd like to help with that.
I made a screenshot of my chatroom, cropped out certain areas and marked them with words
I'll write down some things about those areas and I'll try to include some tips as well.
So here we go.
a - Chatroom tab
This is a very useful thing. Why? Because instead of one million browser windows, you can have one window open and have as many connections to dAmn chatroom as you want. You can close one as well but without leaving the other rooms as well.
b - Title of the chatroom
Area is empty when you first enter your own ch
Seniority Announcements - January 2013Seniority Announcements - January 20132 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This
This article marks the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 1000 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.
So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice that stands out above the many other
Chat Tutorial #6 - All the small commandsA tutorial magyar nyelven is elérhető!Chat Tutorial #6 - All the small commands2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Okay so first of all, let's check if there's any FAQ about Commands a deviant can use on dAmn!
How to do an action?
Have you ever wondered how other deviants in chatrooms do that their message is in italics and not looking like a normal text?
It's really easy!
All you have to typing in is the following:
/me is awesome
This will happen!
Nice, isn't it?
Suggested by TheLastHuzzah
How can I find my friend?
If you are looking for a friend of yours or you're a ninja on a special mission, you can find them!
All you have to do is typing in the following:
You'll see the following
Please note that it only works if your friend (or the deviant you are looking for or interested in what kind of rooms they are in) is
How to: Margin + PaddingFor this tutorial series I am explaining different elements you can create or modify with the help of CSS. The level of experience that is needed to be able to understand the tutorials can differ and will be in no order. How to: Margin + Padding1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
However I will try to explain the things as simple as possible. Upcoming questions should be left in a comment directly to this blog so that people with similar problems can look them up later as well.
The tutorial series is based on the gruze-structure of journals. If you are still using the old structure or have a journal installed that used it, things won’t work the same way like explained below.
For simple skins the old structure is fine, but the more features you add, the more I would recommend using the gruze-structure. You can look up the differences here: http://ginkgografix.deviantart.com/art/Old-vs-Gruze-Journals-112772369
It seems like a lot of people are struggling with the usage of margin and padding. In the end it doesn’t matter ho
Chat Tutorial #7 - Tabbing A tutorial magyar nyelven is olvasható!Chat Tutorial #7 - Tabbing2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
What is that?
Tabbing is a very nice feature of dAmn. You can direct message a fellow deviant by tabbing them and it will highlight them the message you'd like to send!
If you have SuperdAmn, it's even better, because you can set it how you'll get notified if you get tabbed!
How to do that?
All you have to do is typing in the first 1-2 letters of the deviant's name you'd like to say Hi to them and then push 'TAB' on your keyboard (see pictures below if you can't find it) and then you can type in your message.
It's cool becasue:
it's faster than clicking on the username and then typing
it will auto complete the username for you
you'll get notified if someone would like to say Hi to you or something

Chat Tutorial #2 - Privclasses?A tutorial magyar nyelven is olvasható!Chat Tutorial #2 - Privclasses?2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
What 'privclasses' are?
Privlasses (Privilege Classes) are like groups what can be customized. Each group has privileges (abilities or rights) what can be given and taken by the Founder or other chatroom moderators with admin rights.
Here is a little example of privclasses:
Default privclasses what you get if you create a new chatroom:
Here is a little explanation for each:
The original creator of the chatroom. They has the most rights (for example: if the room if 'closed' and by that I mean: the ability for joining is taken, the Founder can still join the channel.)
Moderators. You can set their rights for example give them the right to kick others and

Community Operations Newsletter - June 2014In this, the first of a new, regular newsletter, I'd like to take a moment to give you an overview of the Community Operations department.Community Operations Newsletter - June 20145 months ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This
DeviantART's Community Operations Department encompasses the Help Desk and the Copyright and Etiquette Administration (CEA) teams. These teams are dedicated to providing a high level of support within the community via our help desk portal as well as what we call the "Moderation Desk", which is where all of the deviations that have been reported as being unsuitable or in violation of our policies, await review from a member of staff.
Community Operations Staff are spread out across the globe on a mix of many time zones. Some work from a physical office in deviantART HQ in Los Angeles, some work from their homes in America, Canada, Bahamas, Germany and the UK. This may not sound like a real job, but like any employment, there are clearly laid out roles and responsibilities as well as continuous supervision to ensure that people are meeting expectati

'Let The Light In (LTLI) is a new tutorial series from the group Good-Intention that will focus on the hows and whys of committing good deeds around the deviantART community.
The first edition of this series will focus on how to create an art feature in order to help fellow friends and artists gain some exposure for their work, regardless of the media. This is a fantastic way to brighten someone's day, and promote some positivity.
What Is An Art Feature?
An Art Feature is a journal (blog / article) that showcases deviations from one, or multiple artists. You may peruse the Art Feature Folder for some examples. Users choose to create art features for a number of reasons, from showcasing artwork they admire, to helping under-appreciated artists gain more views, to promoting art from their friends or watchers. No matter what the motivation, art features are a great way t

This is the first step to take. Go to the chat page. On the right, you should see the following buttons:

Happy Birthday DeviantART! Welcome to WonderlandHappy Birthday DeviantART!3 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I find myself delighted to lay my rather large eyes on you. A purrfectly delicious mystery awaits you. Won't you come this way?
I've been a bad kitty-- a very naughty, naughty feline, indeed. You see, today is Alice's Unbirthday, and all the inhabitants of Wonderland had planned to join her and the Mad Hatter for tea and cake. But, the Mad Hatter, being quite a bit off his rocker, is requiring that everyone wear a hat to the party. Anyone without a hat cannot attend.
Whoops! Mysteriously, *smile* all the hats in Wonderland have gone missing. What a shame, what a shame. Whatever shall we do?
I know what we shall do. You and I, stranger, we shall go to the party together. I hear the cake is delicious this year, and there will be plenty for us.
Except, wait! HA! You cannot!!! You have no hat, either! I suppose you'll have to stay here, too, then. Very well. Goodbye.

PE: Chat, Forum and the FAQMost of us don't read manuals when we get new stuff, partly because it can be pretty long and somewhat pointless to go through. It's not surprising that the faq on deviantART is treated in a similar fashion sometimes, but there are a lot of awesome goodies to dig up in there, especially where the chat and forum are concerned. In fact, deviantART has dedicated a whole section on these two in the faq here, something well worth a once-over!PE: Chat, Forum and the FAQ2 years ago in Art Features More Like This

You can look upon this FAQ as an introductory one to dAmn - deviantART Messaging Network (basically just the chat and forum). You can find a few good helpful FAQs there straight off the bat, so reading up on the basics is definitely worth it here.
PE: Forum OverviewAfter Astralseed's awesome article on Breaking Into Chatrooms, today's article will be focused on providing a general overview of the forum!PE: Forum Overview2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Within the forum, there are many Forums that you can enter into to create threads for discussion. These threads encourage other people to make posts in response to the 'original post' created by the 'original poster' - the person who created the thread. If you scroll down the forum page, there are many Forums that focus on a specific topic so that all threads within that forum must relate to the specific topic of the Forum itself. For example, if you stumble across the 'Gaming Forum', the specific topic is 'Gaming', so all threads within the 'Gaming Forum' must relate to 'Gaming'. This is important because if your thread does not relate to Gaming, it will be moved or locked.
After clicking the forum, for example, the
