What was Sakky's Annual Free Plushie Giveaway!?
Starting last year I decided to have a giveaway during the holiday season where one person would win a custom plushie made by me. You see, I have a week off between Christmas and New Years and while I'm SURE I could find plenty to do on my own in that time, I figure it's ALWAYS exciting to win something and I really like making things for people. Not everyone can afford a custom plushie so this is a fun and free way for people to have a

He was an artist you might not know.
But you’ve met his children…
It’s rare that a “new” iconic monster is born and becomes forever identifiable,—— no matter the variations, by generation after generation. So it was when George Romero created the ultimate “zombie” in his Night of the Living Dead in 1968. Zombie Apocalypse fans today may have never heard of George or seen the original “Night,” but the zombies they so love in fare like The Walking Dead owe their existence to Romero’s original vision.

Ninja Turtles by lukekeith
The recently announced changes to the core mythos of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the backlash from fans over the ending to Mass Effect 3 have ignited an incredible discussion about the rapidly evolving “collaborative” relationship between producers and consumers of videogames, movies, and similar “products.” Now it’s exploded beyond the secure borders of top news publications, gamin

Kay (aka damphyr) is DeviantArt’s go-to expert on everything “Pokémon.” She also occupies the adventurous position of being one of DeviantArt's main enforcers of standards and practices. We thank her for being a guardian of artistic erotica and especially, for being able to answer every question we get asked about Pokémon and just about anything else for that matter. Supreme Keeper of all pop culture knowledge, Kay must be protected in case of global disaster.

About originality in artMany deviants around here seem to think that if they have seen a type of work before then that means it's not original. So by that reasoning, if someone comes up with the weirdest thing in the world, than that makes him original and therefore better than the one that drew something that has been done before.About originality in art10 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I'd like you to consider this for a while. Humanity has been around for thousands of years, almost anything an artist might think of drawing, has been drawn before. If an artist draws a portrait of a girl, that is so "unoriginal" you can literally find hundreds of thousands of such drawings.
Then should an artist stay away from drawing portraits?
Is an artist's work less valuable?
Consider this for a moment. There was an artist (if i can even call him that), that pooped in a box, and made an art show about it. He was definitely original and his work is very valued. There was another artist who put a shark in a tank and sold it for $12.000.000 dollars, (yes it's
